What they sent over was not at all what I wanted my friend to receive. I took this up with them and the excuse was that hospitals do not allow fragrant flowers. I am familiar with flowers and none of was pictured in the arrangement fell into this poor excuse. Matter of fact when I called them to verbally place the order, the woman said she had all the flowers pictured except the small spray of pink roses. They just didn't have the flowers and unfortunately used the hospital as their excuse. Even if that was to be true, wouldn't they have made that clear to me before ordering? The fact is that they took the money and sent over a very boring arrangement. When my friend sent me the pic I didn't have the heart to tell her that was not at all what I ordered for her. I will credit them with delivering right away but would not recommend them at all. Pretty much a 'switch and bait'. Really disappointed!! gave one star because I wasn't allowed to leave no stars.

Today, on the day of the service, the company I arranged it through canceled it with no notice a mere 2/2.5 hours before it was scheduled for delivery. From New York I frantically called florists up and down Brunswick Maine in extreme panic and Hawkes Flowers came to my rescue. With just 2 hours notice they put together a beautiful arrangement and delivered it to the church with plenty of time to spare. It was so important to us that our colleague knew we were thinking of her and the wonderful folks at Hawkes made sure that happened. The family was so touched. It was huge had 2 big white roses , lilies and was so big that we had to make a new bouquet that the bride could carry for the simple wedding from OTHER flowers we had purchased elsewhere to decorate the house. The HUGE bouquet was used as a floor decoration. A small hair barrette was also ordered- it was specifically to be tiny with no baby's breath but just two red rose BUDS. It was white and it was not roses at all and was large. A friend remade this with , again, flowers we had purchased for other use elsewhere. The groom's boutonniere , which was to be one small red rosebud, was a huge white rose. One wonders if there was some agenda here or simply poor service. These were all carefully ordered. The blossoms used were all reasonably fresh but this caused us to need to call a friend in at the last minute to fix the flowers.

I recently ordered some "Get Well Soon" flowers for a remote coworker, as he had mentioned to me…read morethat he'd be having surgery. Since I wanted to ensure they were fresh flowers, delivered in a vase, to arrive on the day of his surgery, I decided to order in advance directly from a local florist versus the 1-800 online option. I found Augusta Florist and ordered on their website. Unfortunately for my coworker, the surgery got postponed, TWICE! Fortunately for me, I ordered directly from Augusta Florist and was able to call them both times and request a cancelation. They refunded me the entire amount both times, without hesitation! The third surgery date actually happened! My coworker got his surgery! But I forgot to order the flowers!! I had been so busy/caught up with work that it just slipped my mind. The day I realized it (this past Monday), I went online and ordered right away. If you order by 1pm, Augusta Florist can deliver same day. I submitted the order shortly after 11am and just before 1pm, he messaged me saying the flowers had arrived! WOW talk about fast service.
