The Bluebell Inn is one of three pubs in this small village of Kettlewell, situated at the foot of Great Whernside.
A 17th century coaching house which has kept many of its original features.
The bar area is cosy with log fires and a couple of tables.
The well stocked bar serves cask ales, beers etc and has a magnificent choice of malt whiskies. (we went with some Scottish relatives and they were most impressed!!)
Mostly local foods, Dales, Lamb and Beef and Trout from the nearby Kilnsey Trout farm. The fish is from the east Coast,
(I asked, well you have to don't you!!)
They have a magnificent specials board in the main bar area, which may require many visits before you make your final choice.
Always a soup of the day, Roast of the Day and plate pie. Vegetarian options are good as well.
Cannot complain about anything we ordered, and we have all had different things every time we have been. The steaks are particularly good.
The pub is long and there are various tables of differing height and sizes to choose from. Some hidden away and others in the large dining room. Lovely views from the windows and all en suite bedrooms.
The toilets are a little bit out of the ark, but very clean.
Loads of leaflets on things to see and do around the area. The staff are all locals and are very eager to help if you require any assistance.
Parking to the front for a few cars and also a car park around the back for customers only.
Tables to the front with umberellas to shield you from the baking hot rain we have had this year.
Worth a visit when they have the Scarecrow displays on in August as there are always other things to see.
Great after a walk or if you require good wholesome food at a reasonable price in a very friendly country pub. read more
