New new new New Mexican restaurant!!! I am so happy there's a real Mexican restaurant 7 min away from where I am at in Dearborn heights !!! Literally the most authentic mexican food in Taylor/dearborn area ! So if ur not used to real mexican food please come here with an open mind and try it ! Service is great ! We had their quesadillas , tacos, ceviche and torta ! Everything tasted fresh. They have an only weekend menu portion which is so worth it ! Tacos dorados (fried tacos with pork beef inside ) menudo, carnitas and pozole ! They told us the liquor license is in process !! Yay! We been here twice and food was never a disappointment! Owner checked on us and the food. She made us feel comfortable I ln case we weren't satisfied w our meal. Great place, great food and can't wait for a margarita !

Oh yea, this authentic Mexican food. I had two Birria tacos which were absolutely amazing 10/10! Service was quick, I had chips and salsa seconds after I chose my seat. I had a Paloma 10/10 it did not have the chamoy or tajin on the rim but it did not matter. I also had a margarita flight which was just as good 10/10 the Blue agave was my favorite . I love the way the restaurant has changed since the new ownership, its light and inviting. The staff are attentive and friendly. I will definitely return, I am happy to see the food is amazing and nothing like

The food at this restaurant is phenomenal. The drinks are also very good since the new ownership has taken over. Everybody should give it a second chance. It is totally different than it used to be when it was the Matador.

I refuse to pay more than $2 per Taco Tuesday , 50 places Downriver have this special. This the Hottest New Mexican restaurant Downriver out of 70. Straight outta Sw Detroit via Jalisco Mexico, they owned a Taco Truck on Springwells. Our 2nd visit marvelous again, she had 2 Quesabirria with Consume for dipping . We started with Queso Fundio and Guacamole both only $5.99 each, half price of other places. Tacos $1.99 each had 4 Crispy Carnitas, you must ask for Crispy. A scrumptious Chilaquiles Verde with Eggs added in, just the way I like them. See hundreds of 5 star reviews around the web Google Yelp Instagram Facebook, this authentic Mexican nothing TexMex. If you don't know the difference, stay outta Taco Bell. I was really craving a burrito and was in the area, but I do have some dietary restrictions (vegan). I made the call to pick it up. They were more than happy to accommodate. When I opened the box and took my first bite. It was unbelievable!! Fair price & Very good quality + would definitely come back again!

The chimichanga changed after we returned after covid, they added some kind of red sauce or salsa I…read moremay not taste the spice but it completely changed the flavor of the chimichangas when they added this. I talked to the manager and he said they did start adding a sauce or salsa. It ruined my favorite dish that we came there for 37 years before Covid. We all would get it. My family decided to celebrate my husband's birthday there very recently I decided what can go wrong with my second favorite Chicken Fajitas. Well, the below is what I got. Only a couple little green pepper pieces, a couple onion pieces and more tomato pieces than both peppers and onions. Where are the peppers and onions? This picture is the whole meal all burnt and dry. This is such a downgrade from a typical fajita. I dipped a chicken piece in sour cream to wash it down, it was dry. I brought it home and my son ate it and couldn't believe what he saw when I said it was Chicken fajitas. He hated it, it lacked all the flavors that make it good and it was hard to chew. I've tried a lot of foods there, I am not fond of anything but the 2 loyal dishes I loved. Both have been destroyed. If you add salsa to a chimichanga then you won't notice a difference but if you don't you certainly will notice the flavor change. For 37 years it was our favorite place, now it's the very bottom of a list of places to eat, actually we have nothing to order from there anymore. I couldn't even enjoy the hot tea, I asked for lemon and was told you don't have any but gave me a lime ruined the tea! I read on one review you said it's the same as it always was there but you're wrong, chimichangas are not as they used to be after adding the red sauce in it, lemons gone, dry fajitas without peppers and onions you can actually taste and see. Your quality of food has definitely changed for the worst, regardless of you saying otherwise. I will not tell people how great your place is anymore but tell them not to go if they're expecting the chimichangas they've loved for years, because they're gone. 2 different restaurants with Chicken fajitas 2 different presentations- which is more desirable looking. And yes this is the amount of fajitas minus 1 small piece of chicken on the last picture that Mexican Gardens gave, for $20- with a little guacamole, sour cream and rice on a side plate. Price is not justifiable to us considering the quality of this dish I got. The last 2 times we went the restaurant wasn't even half full, which is odd considering every other time in the past before past 2 years we had to wait quite a while to get in and not hardly any empty seats. With a table for 8 it took about 5-10 minutes to put it together. The only 2 times in 37 years the restaurant wasn't full and it was a weekend when it's usually very packed in the past, and those 2 times were within about 6 weeks recently this year. So sad it used to be one of the very best, we passed over all other Mexican restaurants to go there, not anymore. So sorry to leave this horrible review but thats how bad our experience was.

Excellent "inexpensive" (AKA cheap (: ) street taco joint. For my first visit here I got two…read moreAsasda (Steak) taco's and one El Pastor at a cost of $2.75 each!! Taco's were well made, with double corn tortillas, packed full of meat , no skimping here, and just cilantro and onions. Definately very authentic Mexican style taco's and not the Americanized versions you find throughout the area. My only qualm, which was minor, was that the meat was lacking the seasoning I like when in Mexico which gives the flavor pop that I personally like. I took care of this with some salt and pepper along with salsa to tune the taco to my personal taste. Relative to the Salsa, there was a walk up Salsa bar with multiple Salsa's to select from which I truly liked and reminded me of one of my favorite Taco Joints in Puerto Vallarta, Taco's Revolution. These salsa bars, are quite convenient and act as a "Fixing bar" that allows you to tailor the taco to your personal taste. I have not seen this before in this area and wished more businesses did it. They also need to add the cucumbers (dont knock it till you try it) and some onions as well to complete the fixing bar. (: Food comes with gratis nicely mildly seasoned chips which I really liked. The seasoning is more than just salt, quite tasty and unique to this business, Very nice! Relative to the facility and staff, the restaurant is a no frills operation and has a relatively small footprint with a limited number of tables which is probably something to keep in mind during peak dining hours. Clearly they let the food do the talking here. Staff is very friendly with prompt service and good follow up throughout. Overall a very good Mexican restaurant as reflected in the good Yelp reviews. The quality of the food and at the price point it is being sold at make this a must try if you are a fan of good Mexican food, in particular Street Taco's.

We went there yesterday for dinner and not only was our server rude, we waited forever for our food…read moreto come out and when I seen my food I knew there was no way I was going to be able to eat it. It looked like they threw slop on my plate and put some nasty tomatoes on top that tasted like funk almost like they we're moldy. The beans had no beans in them it was like brown water leaking moldy tomato sauce around the brown water and don't get me started on the rice. When I called the server over to get something different because it was not edible they told me THIS AIN'T BURGER KING YOU CAN'T HAVE IT YOUR WAY. We were shocked. It was so dark in there that I could swear my bedroom has more light when I go to bed at night. There was something crawling on the wall at the next booth over and when I told my boyfriend he stopped eating and dropped his jaw. We rarely eat out and I always cook. My kitchen is wiped down with bleach every night before I go to bed, and dishes are in the dishwasher to be washed. My kitchen is very clean and I know what I put in my food. I have no idea what they served us but it was not edible. I had to use the restroom before we left because we had an hour drive back home. There was no toilet paper and toilet had yellow drops on the seat. I walked out and we stopped off at McDonald's down the street to use their restroom and while we were there we got some food there and I'm not a big fan of McDonald's at all and that Big Mac that has nasty meat tasted better than the food looked at Manuel's I don't know who the F is running Manuel's anymore but they may as well shut down because we had no good experience at all with place. Even though my boyfriend got about 4 bites out of that food and I took two bites, they made us pay for the full plates of food. We did not tip our server and told them to look for a bad review and we were to call the board of health on them. They better start cleaning that building and getting it in tip top shape and serving food that's not moldy because they will be shut down and that is my promise.
