We really enjoyed our experience at Blu Moon Cafe. The staff was very helpful in selecting our orders which were paninis and sides. I went with a spicy Grinder (hot ham and salami with provolone and giardiniera) and a side of smashed potato salad. The heat from the sandwich surprised me, but it wasn't too hot. The bread was perfectly toasted, but I will say that the sandwich got a little messy since the giardiniera dripped quite a bit causing the garlic mayo to get on my fingers. My wife ordered a half tuna melt and thought it pretty good as well. She got a side of chicken soup with large cubes of chicken, but no noodles. It was spicy as well. (She doesn't have a tolerance for heat so she left it unfinished. I thought it was pretty good, but the chicken definitely got overcooked.) When you order, they give you a number for your table and bring it out to you when it is ready. I didn't see anything for busing the tables when done, so I assume they do that for you. Overall, the staff was great, the food tasted great, though a bit on the spicy side and a little messy. If you don't mind licking your fingers or using a second napkin, then this is a place to try! California sandwich with dill mayo on the side. Also a side of curried lentils. Delicious!

I recently visited Blu Moon Cafe and was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this place! Firstly, the service was great. The staff were very nice and helpful since this was my first time. It is an open and welcoming environment. There is plenty of seating and an outdoor patio for the summer. Blue Moon Cafe serves both breakfast and lunch. I went for lunch and ordered the California Turkey sandwich. They even let me sample 3 different types of homemade salads to decide which one I wanted to accompany my sandwich. The sandwich was delicious! It was very fresh and filled with turkey, avocado, tomato, cucumber, havarti cheese, and dill mayo. The dill mayo was excellent! I chose the curried lentils as my side. This was also very tasty. Overall, I definitely recommend Blue Moon Cafe. I can't wait to return and try some other items on the menu.

My new favorite lunch spot, hands down. Blu Moon is a short walk from Main Street in downtown Carmel. A great place to grab breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea or a sweet treat. On my inaugural visit, I ordered the vegetable wrap - highly recommend. Great bang for your buck, too. The wrap was large enough to stretch to two meals, like Brittany S. said, but I conquered it in one sitting because 1) I was hungry and 2) I wasn't sure how well it would hold to the next meal/day. I also recommend the black bean feta salad. Oh, and the Thai noodle salad...and the California sandwich...yep, pretty sure you can't go wrong here. Also, I'm weirdly obsessed with their lemonade (fresh squeezed, perhaps?). Friendly and quick service, fresh eats, ample space (indoor/outdoor) and natural lighting - just some of the many reasons Blu Moon is my new go-to when I'm hungry midday. I can imagine this is a great place to have a business meeting or get some work done!

According to Yelper Dawn Z's review, I just HAD to try this almond cookie.

On my mission to better familiarize myself with Carmel and the northern side of our fair city, I visited Blue Moon Cafe for lunch this past week. Many thanks to Brooke K's review and spiffy photo of the Thai Chicken noodle salad. How could I resist rice noodles piled high on pickled red onions, lettuce, sesame seeds, peanut vinaigrette, roasted red peppers and chicken? It was just as tasty as it looked and for $10 I was able to stretch it into two meals - easily. And I'm not one of those cute light eating ladies. As for the space and other offerings, you'll find a bounty of baked goods like almond cookies (thanks for the recommendation, Dawn V, you were right - very, very tasty), brownies and more. Blue Moon has tall ceilings, an abundance of windows and natural light and free wifi. Great spot to grab a mocha or tea and work at the high top counters. Last but not least, I found the service to be the perfect amount of friendly without being over-the-top. 5 stars!

I kinda had a feeling Blu Moon Cafe would be delicious just based on driving by and seeing the cute restaurant, and I was right! (I guess sometimes it does pay to judge a book by its cover!) I got the Chicken Ranch Wrap, which came with peppered bacon, spinach and tomato, all wrapped up in a green spinach tortilla. Yum! It was the perfect light lunch that I was looking for. It came with a small pile of pickles, which are housemade. I don't like pickles generally, but I savored each and every one of these! They were a little spicy and tangy. This is one of those restaurants where it took me a while to decide what to order because everything sounded so good, so I'll definitely be back to try other items from the menu.

California sandwich & BBT pasta salad

If you're looking for a cute little lunch spot that's more on the healthier side, look no further than Blu Moon Cafe. It's attached to the Indiana Design Center building in downtown Carmel. The atmosphere has a chic, modern, laid back vibe to it. They have a pretty open space with plenty of seating. The big windows offer a lot of natural light that makes everything seem brighter. As for the food, they have everything from sandwiches to soups to salads and even desserts. I got the California sandwich which had roasted turkey, havarti cheese, avocado, tomato, cucumbers, mixed green and dill mayonnaise on grain bread. This sandwich is huge, but it is delicious! I probably would opt for a half order next time though. I also got a small cup of their BBT (bacon, blue cheese, & tomatoes) pasta salad. Soo good! Definitely recommend this if you're a fan of blue cheese. Overall, I was very pleased with everything. It's a great place to grab a quick bite to eat or stay a while and catch up with friends.

Blu Moon is our regular lunch spot for my cousin, aunt, mom and I. One thing we all always get is the BBT pasta salad. To us, that is their main specialty. We usually switch around which sandwiches we get. I've had the ham and Swiss on a pretzel bun, the chicken salad sandwich, and yesterday I got the Grinder sandwich. So far my favorite is the grinder sandwich. They also have tons of homemade desserts that change! We tried out the peanut butter white chocolate cheesecake and the walnut banana cake. The only reason I am giving this a 4 star over a 5 is sometimes the desserts can be a tad dry. Also, they are closing down shop in may 2020 so hurry in before it's too late! (They will still offer catering though)

Avocado toast with one egg and fruit cup

I checked out this space after my yoga class to celebrate my last day of spring break. I was specifically craving avocado toast at a place I could work for a bit without being bothered. Pros: coffee-excellent flavor and unlimited pours for a decent price; lots of seating options with nice (shop-able) decor; good service Cons: food was ok. Not bad, but not fantastic. The toast had sriracha on it, which I didn't realize. It was ok, but not great. I also feel like the fruit was a little overpriced for the amount received. Overall, I would stop by again if I'm in the Carmel area, especially in order to support a local restaurant. I would also be interested in trying the lunch which is supposed to be their specialty.

Driving through Carmel and saw this Cafe. Headed in to see what was on the menu. When I came through the door I was greeting with some delicious looking sweets! There was also a cold case with assorted salads. They serve both breakfast and lunch, I missed breakfast so settled on lunch. I ordered the Hot Chicken Bacon (hold the bacon) Ranch Salad. The sandwich was hot and it's real carved pieces of chicken! It also came with cheese and spinach. The sandwich was fresh, delicious and filling. I will add this to my list of repeats. Great Customer Service too.

Veggie wrap ( hold the cheese ) YUM!

Was sceptical of the Carmel Deli. It was very VERY Surprisingly delicious. The portions are FANTASTIC and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Very spacious but not loud! Though the bathrooms ARE NOT in the restaurant, they indoor just a turn or two inside the design center. I have made this a new favorite place to go in Carmel for breakfast and lunch!

Thai Noodle Salad! It's so huge it comes with its own tongs, only $9.25. Enough to share!
    Brooke K.

This is probably my top lunch spot in Carmel. Any place that greets you with a dessert case full of homemade Ding Dongs and an 18 layer Maple Cake served with a side of bacon has my heart. Well guess what, the love doesn't stop there. After you stop drooling over desserts you can drool over their freshly prepared deli salads. Personally, I am thankful for that panel of glass. I am sure I am not the only one hoovering over that case. Any eatery that uses local farms (meats & produce) get's an A+ from me. Some of my favorite menu items share the local love including the Beer Mac N Cheese with Goose Jowl Bacon. Their salads are huge requiring tongs. I love the Thai Noodle Salad plenty for two. I also recommend the Spicy Tomato Soup made with chipotle peppers. Everything is very fresh and super affordable. I have not stopped in for breakfast but I have made it my personal mission to devour their Pork Shoulder Breakfast Tostada, Goose Sausage & Sweet Potato Hash, and their build your own Egg Panini. Other notes: This cafe is located in the Carmel Design Center with an easily accessible parking lot right next to it. I love the use of local artwork decorating the space. Cute details on the backs of chairs. Lots of natural light. Fun crystal chandeliers. Service is exceptional. My one wish is they were open on Sundays.

    Sustainable order numbers!

Boy have I had my head in the "clay" when it comes to discovering Carmel! I'm so glad I have a smarter-than-me-phone with a Yelp mobile app. I never would have discovered anything, much less fellow Yelper Raquel R.'s review on this place. Thanks to her, I trusted to go and get some vittles from Blue Moon, and I'm so glad I let Yelp make the decision for me once again. The scrambles are EPIC. Huge! Humongous!! And my egg white scramble with all the veggies I could stand kept me satiated for the rest of the day. Not a coffee drinker, but I noticed that they had their own brand at a full coffee bar, and no "Evil Starbux" (as Ethan calls it) in sight. All the first time drinkers people seemed to love it! The place was only a quarter full, yet not quiet. The layout ensures that you hear all conversations, so the people watching was great. The decor is eclectic, but what else would it be inside a building called the Indiana Design Center? A sure winner for breakfast. Highly recommended!

Now, I just came here and had coffee with a potential business contact, so I'm reviewing the atmosphere, staff, and coffee. Although they had an impressive menu selection which I plan on trying the next time I go. The guy behind the counter was courteous and helpful. The coffee tasted great and the whole atmosphere is relaxing. Something tells me that this place is still somewhat of a hidden gem as it wasn't that busy when I was there around 9-10am on a weekday. The café is attached to the Indiana Design Center so the only downside is that there is no restroom in the café - or at least that I could see. You have to go out into the Design Center and find the bathroom down a hallway. The upside is you can take your coffee to go and check out all the shops in the Design Center. Pretty neat place!

I feel like I learned tips and techniques that I could take home and use day to day but also ended up making a very unique and impresssive meal. This class was Thai inspired so we made a salad, coconut curry soup, and moo shu wrapped in a pancake of sorts. Their cooking classes offer a cash bar and walk in appetizer. Then we get to the cooking, all of the ingredients were portioned and passed out. We had the opportunity to taste along the way. After cooking everything, we got to sit down and enjoy our meal. This was such a fun experience. Highly recommend as a date night activity!

You have to make sure that you include every item that's in the basket. It was so much fun to see what the various groups came up with. There were four groups and three judges. Once their meal was prepared, they brought the dishes to the judges so that we were able to rate them. I was one of the judges which was very fun! We had an appetizer and then a main dish. At the end the REAL chefs prepare a meal using the same ingredients! The staff was extremely nice and entertaining too. Made us feel comfortable and welcome. There was an open bar of wine and beer (and soda) so add that with some music I tell you it was just a blast. Thank you team for hosting! It was amazing!
