I have been at Brampton BLS few times and staffs are very nice and friendly and have no complaint about their service, but waiting time is horrible. I was trying to get an online appointment, for my OCI, for 2 months and finally decided to try walk-in. I waited in the line for 6hrs in -7 temperature and couldn't get in, at 1pm they stopped walk in submission. They have to make some changes in their system. Either give the token to the approximate amount of people in the line they can process a day, so people can avoid long hours of waiting in this cold weather and extend the 1pm cut off, or from 8-10 process only walk in people, no appointments. This is not just a day , every days are like this. I am so surprised why officials are not taking this matter seriously and make some changes. Or open another site in Brampton to handle the numbers. Also please update the appointment slots on daily basis. read more

I went at 12:30pm on a Thursday to submit a travel visa. There was a man guarding the door. He asked me what I came for. He wrote 1:00pm on a sticky note and told me to come back after 30 minutes. He was friendly enough. I asked him how long the wait was once I get inside. He told me it was two to three hours. I asked him if I'm allowed to take my laptop in to do work. He said that there were no electronics allowed on at all. No gaming system, no laptop, no cell phone etc. I mean you can have it but you gotta keep it off. I guess it's for security purposes as India has terrorist threats and attacks at times. So you gotta take some reading material to occupy yourself. There were a lot of people waiting. I barely was able to look in but I could kinda sense the room was stuffy. It kinda smelled like indian food lol. And yes, there were a lot of people waiting. He recommended coming back first thing in the morning. I will try the morning, but at another location. read more

I wanted to apply for OCI and came here the first time to submit my paperwork. After waiting for approximately 41/2 hours, they informed me that I was missing paperwork, which was not indicated on their online checklist. I was born in Quebec and my original birth certificate in French, so they asked me to get it translated. I came back another day, arrived at 9:30am and had to wait in line outside in the cold for an hour to receive a number to go inside and wait in another line to get another number to see someone at a counter. I've been here for 3hours. They are highly inefficient and incoherent. There are others here that I spoke with that said that they have been back here 3-4 times under similar circumstances. read more

People writing negative reviews here should be ashamed. This morning I visited for my OCI card service. The staff was so helpful. In the last 2 years I have been there multiple times for my family's OCI cards and always have been treated with respect. I wrote a review on yelp for them 2 years ago and feel hurt to see people writing nasty stuff about them. They take care of 100's of people each day and bring repute to India by their efficiency. Compare that to a dozen of cases for a European Consulate a day. Friends, Ache din are here so appreciate rather than bring fellow Indians down. Love India, Love Canada. I went to BLS to apply for my child's visa and I found out these guys are working with some funny bollywood movie style. They asked me a document which was not asked even in their own given checklist. So I asked about it and they had the most strange answer in the world...they said it is in the check list...so I asked them can you please show me that in to the checklist...and even after they were not able to find it in checklist they keep saying it is in the list...(They checked atleast 4-5 people from their staff for 1 and half hour but no one found it)....so after that they inform that they need the document otherwise they cannot take my file and they don't care about checklist..(I do not know why then they have this checklist....they should have say come and try till we satisfied with our own rules and requirements) After this all I got the document and again I waited for 3:30 hrs and again my turn came....and again they said they had some new problem with my application...They asked me some written statement that if my child's visa get refused BLS is not responsible for that. I asked them to show the rule on which they are asking me to do this. ( I believe they are having an imaginary rule book) They said they will not show me any rule about this...if I want to submit the file I have to agree about their written statement but they refused to do so. Trust me even after this first I have to say about them is they really need to learn how to talk to people in Canada....They don't have knowledge about the requirement of documents...I really feel that Indian government need to take some action against them...(because it is not the 16th century where u say and people will be ok...You need to show some documents to support your arguments... read more

Worst experience, When you go to Brampton, Canada, BLS office. No space inside. Be prepared for full worst day of your life. Stay outside for half an hour if no rush. Wait for your turn. When you go in, wait for next half an hour, then you will definitely be missing something, I am damn sure. Go back to start of the line, again wait for next half an hour, wait for your turn and get your number you are lucky else go back to start of the line. Staff are new as they say. When you get the number and get your turn, at counter you will hear the person at desk is new, and definitely you will miss something. Be prepared to come on next day for go and the things done. photocopy 50 cents per copy, forms may cost you 50 cents to 2 dollars, never mind nothing is free Yeah you can feel legal robbery. No issues. When you miss any thing at counter forget about for your task to be finished on the same day. People are so rude and lazy you can feel when you go there. I will advise Mr Modiji to get feedback and close the office or give this contract to some other team who are experienced and can feel Indians problems. Here you are tested for all your patience at full level and at the end of the day it may burst on anybody. keep something 'thanda thanda cool cool' with you. My request please shut off this office or change people. It;s worst......I ever saw government offices in my life time of more than 25 years. read more

There should be an option for negative stars. Indian government should be ashamed to use this sort of private service firms that will go out of their way to do everything but their job. These guys will do everything to make sure you have to come back 5-7 times before processing your application. You might as well take a week off from work so you can fulfill their self-made requirements. I took all the documents listed on the form but they kept sending me back for one reason or other. Just to put this in prospective they said my original marriage certificate is not a valid proof and they wanted an affidavit from lawyer. The extra intelligent BLS staff (including supervisor Anthony) cannot get the concept through their thick skulls that lawyer will use the same original marriage certificate to validate the marriage. They also have a value-added service desk where they send you for all these queries. Guess what this service desk person can validate everything for you for a price. Bad service at its best. I will be complaining to higher authorities about this. I urge all the readers to do the same. If you want to file a group complaint let me know and we can work on that. read more
