I don't even remember leaving. It was like a trashy-gay-kanye west music video and I'm kinda into that.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming and fun. I was greeted by Alex, a tall, stunning bartender who was in his first week on the job and still learning the ropes. You never would've known it, though. He was charming, warm, and somehow remembered both my name and my drink every time I came back to the bar. That kind of care goes a long way, especially when you're traveling solo. The dancers were honestly impressive . Every performer clearly put thought and intention into their routines. One of the performers, Lynx, really stood out to me. I assumed they were non-binary and Latinx, and later learned their name. Their presence and performance were powerful and memorable. I'm from Chicago and go to my local go-go bar pretty regularly, but I have yet to see the kind of diversity in talent that I experienced at STAG. Bodies, genders, expressions, cultures--it was all there, and it was celebrated. I'm really glad I stopped in. Spaces like this matter. If our community had more places that truly showcased the beauty of our diversity the way STAG does, I genuinely believe it could change the world--at least a little. P.S. Atticus is so friendly and worth getting a lap dance from.

My New Sunday Ritual Starts NOW…read more I walked into The Eagle for the first time last Sunday and somehow left feeling like a regular. That's the magic of this place. This wonderfully divey Bear bar in North Portland was hosting their weekly BBQ out on the back patio, and let me tell you -- I had absolutely no idea what I was missing. The vibe is exactly what a neighborhood bar should be: unpretentious, lively, and genuinely welcoming to every single human who walks through the door. The staff were an absolute delight -- upbeat, attentive, and you could tell they weren't just doing a job. They wanted everyone to have a good time, and it showed in every interaction. That energy is contagious. The crowd? Beautifully mixed. Gay, straight, male, female, nonbinary -- everyone together, everyone friendly, everyone just... having a blast. As someone who had never been before, I was blown away by how quickly I felt at home. That kind of instant belonging doesn't happen everywhere -- it has to be built intentionally, and The Eagle has clearly nailed it. Oh, and the BBQ? On a sunny Portland afternoon, on that back patio? Come on. Perfect. I'm already counting down to this Sunday. See you there.

Good drinks like really good! If you know you know…read more CC Slaughters is a longstanding lgbtq+ bar meets lounge nightclub in Old Town Portland. It's definitely a place to enjoy and end up if you enjoy the night seen. I've been lucky enough to visit both the location in Puerto Vallarta and this one circa 2018. We enjoyed the lounge and drinks before making our way from their Rainbow Room way into the NightClub which is a mix of everything. Still the best Lemon Drop I've had to date! It didn't really get busy until late here - like midnight, which is wild for weekend. All the security and staff were personable and they had a cool drag show we caught most of. Some fun themed nights/days, including Piano Karaoke, TRANS-UHH-LICIOUS, Comedy Nights, etc. It does seem like most of their on-goings happen before 10pm, w/ live DJs for the late late crowd. Completely different their cousin location in Mexico. There's a food menu of mostly bar style eats (like taquitos, tenders, jalapeno poppers, corn dogs and my go to Meatless Nuggets w/ tots or fries). Free Wi-Fi, clean restrooms, pool tables and great mood lighting. It's a pretty walkable area overall, but definitely recommend those 24 hr parking garages if driving in or passing through. Rideshare is also fairly easy in the area also. The MAX light rail and local transit service usually end by midnight most days, even on weekends. Cheers to coming back soon #FlashbackFriday

The bars are well stocked and their drinks were really good, though the line can get a bit long at times. The bartenders and waitstaff were always polite and I never felt rushed or uncomfortable. The show and the visit in general was something I'll never forget. What a truly magical place.

Our service was super friendly and fun. We will definitely come again the next time we're in town. Now the note. There is some confusion about bar seating. Ive seen a few negative reviews from people who were told there would be a wait when there were empty seats at the bar. This happened to us our first time too. Like other people, we were confused why we couldn't sit there. In our case we were told it was a 45 min wait. This time we had reservations and were shown to our seat right away. If Ravens Manor would just clear this up for people it would help eliminate some of those negative reviews. OH! One more critically important note: REDRUM is supposed to be spelled with backwards letters as it's a mirror image. Cmon Ravens Manor! LOL

So that we would just be around the corner and popping in here would be easy during our stay. Luckily I was able to come in on two different days, and at different times! We got both the night life experience and the day time experience. I think I preferred the day time because it wasn't as busy. Night means cover charge ($4) and bag check. And no kids. You might see some kids during the day. What a cool place, with yummy drinks (no food), and all my favorite arcade games, and then some! They operate on a card system, so no coins needed when you visit. My pinball wizard friend had been traveling arcade ready with coins in her bag, but it turns out they weren't needed. Ground Kontrol supplies free lockers to store your stuff; just follow the instructions and don't forget your code. I learned a lot about pinball during my visits here, and played more pinball than I usually do because of that. I mean, why not? I played one of the newest pinball games, released within weeks of my visit, which was Pokemon themed, and I played one of the more vintage pinball machines, Xenon. And everything in between! It was awesome. $20 loaded onto a card will get you 15ish games, but there is a different cost depending on which game you're playing. I was satisfied with the value and would, and did! come back again. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area! Make sure to check out the whole place, as it's bigger than you think and there are more games (mostly pinball) upstairs.

There's a parking lot right across the street for easy parking. I didn't try any food or drinks from the bar this time around but the staff at the entrance were nice and friendly. Overall, this place was a bit underwhelming but if you're into drinking and pinball machines, this is the place! I just wish they had a little more variety with their games.
