Worst boba I have ever had. It literally tastes like flavored water. Tastes nothing like milk tea.

This is the second or third time I've gone to this place on a Sunday at 5:15 and they have already closed. The hours on the internet displays 6pm which is false advertisement because they close around 5pm or 5:15pm on Sundays. They should change the hours of business on Sundays from 12pm to 5pm so that I will go earlier and not be disappointed when I go at 5:15pm and the place is closed. read more

They use a powdered flavoring rather than actual fruit for their smoothies, which in some cased can be forgivable. What is not forgivable is a smoothie with a very liquidy consistency and old, hardened, crunchy tapioca that you cannot suck into the straw. read more

Choices! There were plenty to be had. As for me, I like things a little fruity, so I went with a pineapple smoothie with cherry flavored "beads" and was very pleased with the flavor selection! I guess you can't really go wrong unless you pick an odd flavor pairing and that is up to you. They also sell macarons in lots of different flavors. I tried the almond wedding cake and it was very tasty! I would eat all of the flavors, but they were a bit too pricey. The restaurant itself is in the middle of the wolfchase mall near the kids play area and so it's not very uniquely situated but out of the eyeline's view. Just remember to take the stairs down and following the sound of kids screaming. Other than that, it's a very one stop sweet shop that is sure to satisfy. read more

My go to beverage is Thai milk tea NO boba. I see most of the bad reviews are because people don't like the boba. This place has 100% better tasting Thai Milk Tea than Chang's. Ranking this particular drink I would say 1: This place 2: Tenn Tea then 3: Chang's. This place is right outside the closed Sears and the play area. I've been here a few times and I've never been disappointed! Taro Boba-Tea is like a bowl full of fruit loops! I love it!!! I sure wish that although it's a lactose milk product they use for thir drinks... other options would be nice as well. Almond Milk, Coconut Milk, soy milk or others. I've had bubble tea in Asia so I know what I'm comparing it to and it didn't disappoint. It's much better than changs bubble tea for a comparable price. Changs isn't smooth and you get a lot of ice chips while this places bubble tea is silky smooth. Plus the flavors are on point. I would highly recommend this place and I will continue to go. Hopefully a lot of people will get behind this place so it doesn't close. read more

Thanks to my fellow yelpers, I was introduced to the goodness that is bubble tea. Now I will admit that this was my first time trying bubble tea. For my first try I ordered the most unauthetic bubble tea flavor - vanilla bubble tea smoothie with strawberry pearls. However, I will say it was delicious and I became an instant fan. On my next trip I went the authetic route and tried a banana bubble tea smoothie with Tapioca. Again delicious! Please note that this location is in the WolfChase Galleria mall right next to the kids playground and train boarding area. I will also mention the fact that the staff are super friendly and helpful. They sell Smoothies or milk teas, Sno Cones, Hot tea and Macarons. If you never tried Bubble Tea, you need to. It is my new favorite drink :) read more

Blooming bubble tea where do I begin.....welll....I was pleased to find a bubble tea spot in Memphis but the quality was not great. If you are a bubble tea/smooth/slush drinker like myself then you'll only come here because you have a craving and not because it's good. To begin the menu there was basic as hell, just flavors and not combinations to create a delicious drink...that's the first observation. I ordered a pineapple milk tea with mango pops and it was okay. It was extremely sweet and it slacked flavor....as if they used more sugar to disguise the fact that the pineapple flavor was scarce. Secondly, it was a cheap powdery slushy consistency and the pops were old and didn't pop....they just deflated in my mouth...terrible. Thirdly, I paid for extra pops and the employee was a light light handed and said that those stale ass pops were 82 cents a scoop (that's expensive for that Terrible quality) and couldn't give more. Lastly, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either....just order something that you assume should taste okay. read more

I've been coming here for several years now and honestly it's the new employees behind the counter that are killing the business. I came to order the exact same drink I've always ordered and the young Hispanic lady made it wrong and when I tried to let her know it was wrong she told me it was too late because she had already made it. I was really disappointed because they know I always come here and spend money and to receive that kind of service was just very disheartening. The owner was in there too but I do not think he heard her. I just took the drink and threw it in the garbage and won't be returning here anymore. Luckily there are other shops at Wolfchase that sell boba so that's the only positive note. read more

Excellent smoothie jasmine green tea. The drink was very good, maybe the best around town. The bobas were soft (some hardened from the coldness of the drink), but overall still good. I also had the raspberry macaron and it was delicious. Can't wait to try other drinks and macarons! read more

We came here based upon Yelp reviews. Their menu is simple and have good choices to choose from. On a lactose intolerant side, we couldn't substitute the milk but were able to order a slush. I got a milk tea which was delicious! My only reason for the four stars was the lack of taste in the tapioca. I prefer for it to be a little bit sweet and the milk tea did not compensate for it. read more

I love this place and it's the only place I come to when I'm craving bubble tea. It's in the mall and extremely cute. I always get the coconut milk tea with the boba, and I'm never disappointed. They also carry macarons, which are one of the best that I've had. I highly recommend the pistachio one. I've tried their smoothies as well, which are nice, but if you want the whole experience, milk tea with tapioca is the way to go. read more

I've been to this place a few times already, and had the pleasure of trying out a few teas. The honeydew slush and liquid they were both smooth and flavorful. Same can be said for the classic milk tea. Tapioca is done the best since I first had boba tea in California; chewy yet dense, but not hard in the middle. No place in Memphis can compare to the quality of Blooming bubble tea. As a plus the staff are super nice, and personable. You can choose between tapioca and the bursting bubbles in the drinks. They also have macarons! I chose a green tea matcha milk tea size small with tapioca. Matcha taste was solid, tapioca was a good size and good texture, but the tapioca itself wasn't as flavorful as it could have been. I went to blooming bubble tea in the wolfchase mall and I was so excited to try there tea. Jess who is the young lady at the register is super friendly and has a great personality. I told her that I had been to China and they had awesome milk teas, so I decided to order order one with yogurt. That was a huge mistake. After I had drank in half of it, I began to feel ill and very nauseous but I am not lactose intolerant. I am not sure if they use powder with chemical in it or what, but I felt like I had to vomit everywhere. Never again will I drink milk tea. I haven't felt this bad in a long time and I am praying it passover. I must admit the vanilla macaroons are Amazing so 1 star for that and the other star for Jess. read more

Usually go here all the time with no problem. Just went and it took three ladies to understand that I was referring to "bubbles" as Tapioca- so it took three remakes, three employees plus bad attitudes to understand what I meant. The third remake was half full, and I was ordering the drink for my mother. No matter who was right they need work on their communication, they know the terms I did not, I was saying the type of flavor before saying tapioca so overall bad customer service for the first time coming here. The tapioca is awful here. I've ordered the taro slush and the chocolate liquid. I was disappointed in the taste which is probably due to the use of powdered ingredients. So so so so tasty that it was worth an out of the way trip to a strange mall while visiting family in the area. There is a huge selection of flavors and a lot of pearl options. We tried 4 semi-traditional flavors (jasmine, lavender, Thai, taro) with regular black tapioca pearls. They were all great but the Jasmine was the favorite with taro coming in second even though it was slightly under-mixed and grainy on the bottom. read more

This is probably the best bubble tea in this area. They have the most flavors. My favorite is the Japanese apricot with half boba and mixed jelly. That's right! You can mix your boba and jelly for the same price by going half and half (not one and one). They sell macaroons and other goodies too. It's better than Chang's Bubble Tea, which is the standard bearer in this town due to being the first one who started serving bubble tea here. The Korean owners are fun and cool to talk to. Firstly, I debated on writing about my recent visit to this place mostly bc the girl behind the counter was young and most likely inexperienced at social interaction as well as customer relations. Then I thought you know how do these kids learn. So here's why I write. Body language is everything - absolutely wanted to explain to this girl on the rules of customer relations. Especially when I explained we had never had "bubble" tea before. She shrugged obnoxiously when we did our "incomplete" order and instead of helping making the ordering easier she shrugged and looked like we were annoying her. Her body language said "why don't you know what you want already so I can take my break and still get paid". Annoyed. So young girl - instead of shrugging explain hey this is a good match to this flavor - why not try this or that. Do you like tangy or creamy? Blah blah. Shrugging and the smug look on your face only makes customers angry and never ever want to come back. So hopefully your boss sees this and makes sure that all of you working behind the counter understand better customer relations and helping new customers make decisions. This is obviously a novelty drink that if you keep your smug shrug obnoxiousness that the owners and this business will most likely have to close down like most of the other stores in that mall. Secondly, as far as the drink itself - meh. Immediately felt like we would end up with cancer from this quite unnatural state of the juice filled "pearls". Nothing special except if ya suck in too quickly ya could choke on the pearl. Less than a star if I could. read more

I first saw Blooming Bubble Tea on Yelp but didn't realize it was actually IN the mall! I was walking around yesterday and passed by so I had to stop. I've always wanted to try bubble tea but never had the opportunity. I wasn't really sure what to order so I asked some women in line with me and they gave me some suggestions and then I asked the girl at the register and she gave me some suggestions...and I didn't order any of their suggestions. I got a vanilla milk tea with tapioca. It was interesting alright. The milk tea was pretty good and I drank all of it but the tapioca was weird. There was almost no taste but it was so hard to chew up. I eventually pulled my straw up so that I would stop getting them. I guess bubble tea isn't for me. The location and staff were nice so if it's your thing you should check them out. They have a ton of flavors and even smoothies and snow cones. We love coming here and grabbing a bob smoothie. It's basically just a smoothie with tapioca pearls in it. The first time I tried one I thought the pearls were a little weird but now they're my favorite part! Excellent Bubble Tea, Milk Tea, and Macaroons. My friends and I just tried this place; some of us were very familiar with Japan and their bubble tea and others were trying it for the first time. We all agreed it was fantastic. I've tried bubble tea from a few other places in town, but this is certainly a very good one. They may not have the widest selection in terms of flavors, but the quality makes up for it. The smoothie Bubble Teas are definitely more on the smoothie side than a slushie side, so if you like that (like me) you will love it. The macaroons are also lovely and have a nice variety of flavors, from Rose Lychee to regular Chocolate. The milk tea is also fantastic; I haven't had anything in the states that comes this close to Japanese milk tea since I was in Japan. As soon as I tried it, it was like being back there. Used to make trips to the wolfchase specifically for the ir snowcones. Creamy milkshake-like consistency, they were to die for. A friend and I went to the Mall on Thursday. While walking through the Mall, we saw this place. We both said let's try it. We go up to the counter, no one was there. While waiting for someone to help us, we heard the music they were playing. I will never step foot in this place again. The song playing in the back ground was about P@#sy.
