The goal is to allocate monies payable to renters experiencing an urgent need for housing stabilization funds, I was one of those renters. Having trudged a series of events, I found solace through the support and resources offered by the Kingsley Association Navigators and equipment,( I.e. computer, printer, scanner, fax ect... ). I was overwhelmed meeting the demands necessary to keep my home in the wake of this novel "Corona virus." The Navigators showed tact and demonstrated high levels of emotional sensibility; grossly unfounded within vulnerable population community work; bedside manner, while I unpacked the events leading me to apply. In addition, the Navigators extended resources for food and affordable housing, advocated on behalf of my application, and supplied updated program information. Their actions helped to put me at ease and feel supported during the most STRESSFUL times. Having experienced this organization, I do highly encourage residence of Allegheny County particularly those residing within the 15206 zip code to utilize the services made available by the Association. They are truly here to support you through the process.

Great gym which is not crowded. Excellent classes. Super accommodating staff. Easy to park.read more

I haven't seen any issues with the amount of clay that is available, and my teacher has been more than willing to mix up what I need. Edit 4/22/2014 I went to open studio this weekend. The monitor was super helpful, but there was no space to do anything and my stuff was moved multiple times by co-op members... I understand that there is a show next weekend, but maybe open studio time should be geared more toward accommodating the people that are paying to be there and less on the co-op members pushing you out of the way to get their stuff done on time... I hate to say this, 1. because I know I will go back there and I really do not mean to offend anyone... I am just giving my opinion and 2. because all of the classes I have taken there have been amazing. However, I keep having not great experiences at open studio. That being said, I have had some open studio's that were great... but not nearly as many as were bad.

Not knowing my way around this neighborhood I was surprised by this asset hidden in plain sight. This is a place that every neighborhood could use and should have. It is a multiuse facility that could be used for anything from birthday parties to conferences. Ample space can be found inside with amenities you can use if need be. The inside is interestingly decorated. There is art everywhere. Talk about being a cultural gathering place, which this place is. Pictures hang just about everywhere, whether they are paintings or photographs. I have to say that if you wanted to escape the room you are in you could definitely distract yourself with all that is in here. Parking is available inside the fenced area or on the street. I suggest trying the street as the parking lot is a bit cramped at the moment, but a good thing to have. As for the name of the place, it is a fitting memorial to a young man that met a tragic end.

The entrance to the space is down a somewhat steep driveway situation in the back of an establish business. Not sure how well lit their parking lot would be at night and you may feel a little nervous until you get inside. The interior is a much larger space than I thought it looked from the exterior. I believe there are two break rooms so you could be breaking next door to another group at the same time. It's partitioned very well so you shouldn't see their debris flying into your space but you will likely hear their "rage" (laughter and breaking). The owner was super nice and a great conversationalist. She provided us a music genre of our choice in our room and an extra bonus box of beer bottles. She also provided us with gloves and a face shield for safety. My reservation was for a whole hour but smashing 3 boxes of items and chatting with the owner might have only taken us 25 mins. She offered us more smashables for very reasonable prices but as middle aged adults we assumed our throwing arms might be sore in the a.m. It was so fun and we laughed a lot together. Great short little date. I brought home a Santa tea cup as a souvenir from our box. Didn't have the heart to smash him and his reindeers. Overall, GREAT experience. I wish this business well. You can purchase a souvenir shirt also!

I got the premium membership…read more I have UPMC health insurance and can get an Active and Fit subscription with them to lower the cost of many gyms. I'll share because there is no place I could find out in advance of their pricing system. A premium membership allows use of their premium locker room, with a steam room, a sauna, and a whirlpool. It also includes all the classes, and the recovery room that holds various message implements. A very cool feature. A standard membership gives a basic locker room, and each class is paid for individually. Both memberships have access to weight and cardio rooms, indoor basketball court that turns into a pickleball court, and indoor pools. I believe that's how it goes. They run a Black Friday deal that removes the $149 enrollment fee. Along with 20% off for the first year. The standard individual membership is $67 per month. The premium individual membership is an additional $43 per month. The UPMC Active and Fit subscription is $28 per month. This gives a free standard membership at the JCC. The thing is, once you have the Active and Fit subscription, they increase the premium membership from $43 to $61 per month. So all in instead of pay the $96 per month (which includes the 20% off), for the premium individual membership, I pay $89 monthly. So the Active and Fit saves $7 per month. Not a lot. But, over a year, that is $84, so almost the cost of one month. Ok. It took all afternoon to sign up for the Active and Fit through UPMC. This type of pricing at the JCC felt like I was buying a used car that was about to become a lemon. It felt slimy and like I was signing up to get taken advantage of. Like a dreadful regret would soon be my companion. In addition, parking is $1.50 per hour, or there is some street parking that may be free. So that can add to the cost of a membership quickly. Which is unfortunate because the overall facility seems good. There are almost no windows that that look outside. The cardio, weights, exercise, recovery, and locker rooms have no windows. So it kind of feels like a series of basement rooms. That is not good. I imagine it is because it is an older building. Each room felt like it had weathered its share of hard use. The premium women's locker room entrance room is stocked with Starbucks coffee and a filtered water dispenser. This first room in the premium locker room is bland and needs to be improved. I appreciate the filtered water because I drink tons when I use the steam, sauna, and whirlpool. I was able to refill my bottle throughout my stay. There is no premium feel about this entrance room however. There are two tables, some nice magazines, and a kitchenette. Again, no windows, no plants, no comfy chairs, no luxe at all. No mirrors to shine light around to make it seem brighter than a basement. It is underwhelming. I heard the men's premium locker room has a pool table. It seemed messy and a bit dirty. There was a different woman on the floor each time I entered. I think they were stretching? Maybe they didn't want to stretch in a coed setting? It seemed unappealing to sit in there and read a magazine. Although, I did want to as they had an issue of The Sun, my favorite magazine. There are No Talking on Cell Phone signs all around the locker room and each time I went into this first room of the locker room, (6 times), women were talking on their cell phones. So, like most environments there are people that can claim the exception. I know I'm not one. I am a new member and was definitely made to feel like one. I said hi to every woman I crossed in the locker room. Only one said hi back. I must have walked past 25-30 women. It's Pittsburgh. And so it goes. The most highly insular place I've ever been to. I do actively look forward to getting in my time in that steam, sauna, whirlpool room, above all, this winter. Until I get my own steam, sauna and whirlpool at my home, I'll be there surviving this cold. Being that it is tied to a religious society though, I did expect it to be more welcoming.
