We just returned from an amazing stay in Venice, and had the great fortune of staying at Boom B&B for two nights. We had room on the top floor, adjacent to the terrace, and could not have been happier.
First, the location is excellent. It is located just off Piazza Santo Stefano, a short walk from the Accedemia bridge and Sant'Angelo ACTV stop. Venice is generally overrun with tourists, but our neighborhood was quiet and accessible to nearly everything. It's a 15 minute walk to San Marco, Rialto Bridge, shopping and, crucially, neighborhoods with great restaurants, galleries and shops that are wonderful and accessible.
The B&B itself is beautiful and well-appointed. It appears newly renovated, and included a typical but good breakfast option. Views from the terrace were amazing, and includes a fridge with free prosecco for the guests. It was the height of summer but the room was air-conditioned and spacious (at least by Italian standards). The staff was also very helpful and friendly.
Fair warning on a couple of things: there is no elevator or porter, and it's a minimum of three flights of stairs to the rooms, so be prepared if you have heavy luggage. The door isn't marked at all, so you'll need to look for the number above it and ring the doorbell. Also, the staff and front desk are actually located in a hotel around the corner (apparently they cover 2-3 properties). This didn't affect the service but was a bit surprising when we first stepped into an empty entrance area.
All in all an outstanding place to spend time in Venice. Highly recommended. read more
