This review takes me back to the 1950s as a student at Marylin Youmans School of Dance & Baton…read more Some of my best childhood memories are from my time in Marylin's dancing classes. While attending 37th Street Elementary School, it was a quick walk to classes. I even remember that our dancing class performed on local television on the Happy Dan Show. If making life-long memories count for anything, then dancing, costumes, recitals and friendships made this an amazing part of my childhood. I especially remember the thrill of dancing on the Happy Dan television show in Savannah. I am now in my 70s and tap and ballet dancing at Marylin Youmans School of Dance & Baton still brings a feeling of joy to my heart. Wish I could do it all over again!!!!

Confused why there's no ratings on this place- I've looked everywhere ..... was totally…read moreunimpressed. Of course the building is old (it's downtown Savannah), but it seems it hasn't been kept up- now that's considering I only saw the tiny back room & a room that's apparently a bathroom). It was dirty. No sink in the bathroom. How is that legal? I wasn't allowed to see the room where my daughter was dancing. Not to mention the fact that they must not have heat. So in the cool January temperatures, my daughter was absolutely freezing by the end of her class because they didn't heat the classroom. There were only old, plastic chairs (the kind that may have been in your garage for 20 yrs) for parents to sit on while they waited. I noticed most of the parents just sat in Their cars. Which may work for some, but not what I was looking for. And communication seemed to be a bit unorganized. No collective way to communicate with parents from what I experienced. Only accept cash & check. From what I could hear, when my daughter was in her class - which it seemed that it was a class for 3-6yr olds which is a very wide range- they played fun music, kids sang & that was that. Again, I don't know because I couldn't watch. It was for sure frustrating to not know what she was learning. The two positives I can say is that the price is definitely affordable, and my daughter had fun!
