I'm a regular a Fitness on Broughton and enjoy coming to this gym. Is this a high-end experience like you would get at an Equinox?... no. But FOB has a great location, friendly staff and all of the equipment and weights you need to get in a really solid workout. FOB is centrally located right on Broughton Street and is below the Kayak Kafe. When you go into the building in the mornings, you can expect to be greeted by Nicki who has become one of my favorite people. She is always upbeat and positive in the morning, so if you're dragging a little bit -- her energy will bring you right where you want to be before jumping into a workout. The locker rooms are a little dated, but they are usually clean and not overcrowded. You can get a key at the front desk to secure your belongings and they offer towels in case you need to shower or would like to jump in the sauna or steam room after your workout. For being in a basement, the gym has a lot of space and a ton of equipment. I think one of the best features about FOB is the squat rack and the fact they have multiple bench presses. FOB has all of the free weights you'll ever need and they also have a pretty diverse set of equipment. Could certain things be updated? Yes. But the staff does a good job of maintenance and keeping everything working. Finally, I love the fact they have an aerobics room in the back so you can stretch out or do a circuit routine if that's your thing. I've never done any of the classes at FOB but I think people tend to enjoy them and they don't seem overcrowded. For the price and location, FOB is a great gym and I'll continue to go there while I live in downtown Savannah.

I love coming to this gym! everyone is always nice and the area is very clean. they have a variety of materials you can use with/for your workout, truly something for everyone. not only can you workout there but you can relax in the sauna and/or steam room. it's also in the perfect place if you're living or visiting downtown Savannah (right in conjunction with Kayak Kafé on Broughton St.).

My experience with the local Crunch Fitness in Savannah has been absolutely ridiculous, and I feel…read moreother people should know what they may be getting into before signing up. The management has been rude, inconsistent, and unnecessarily difficult when it comes to bringing my 13 -year-old son, with me to work out. He is always accompanied by me and is never at the gym alone. I am simply trying to encourage my son to be active, develop healthy habits, and spend time doing something positive. Initially, he was able to enter with my "sign in" as a guest (which I pay for) and go work out. Then about a month into our membership management told me he needed identification to work out. When I explained that he is 13 and does not have a photo ID, I was told a picture of his birth certificate would work. We have been using that same birth certificate picture for the past 4 months without an issue. The process was apparently acceptable until today, when suddenly the rules changed. Now, I am being told he needs a photo ID showing his address to workout. When I questioned this, I was told it was because of their insurance requirements and that he has to have a photo ID. I understand that a business may have policies it needs to follow, but I genuinely do not understand why a photo ID showing an address is necessary when a birth certificate has already been provided to verify his identity and age. If this is truly an insurance requirement, why wasn't that explained and enforced clearly from the beginning? Why was the birth certificate acceptable for 4 months, only to suddenly become unacceptable? The inconsistency and lack of clear communication are what make this so frustrating. If there is a policy, communicate it upfront and apply it consistently instead of leaving paying members to figure it out as they go. My husband and I have been paying for upgraded membership for months for our son to be able to come with us , yet the customer service and overall experience have been incredibly disappointing. On top of the management issues, equipment and machines are frequently broken or not working properly. And when my son and I work out, I have noticed one particular manager repeatedly following us around and watching what we are doing. It makes the experience uncomfortable and, quite frankly, creepy. I am just a mom trying to work out with her teenage son, encourage a healthy lifestyle, and follow the rules. Instead of feeling welcomed as a paying member, I feel like we are being made to jump through unnecessary hoops just to use a facility we pay for. I am done spending my money somewhere that treats its members this way. We will be taking our business elsewhere. If you are considering joining Crunch Fitness in Savannah, I would strongly encourage you to look into the policies, equipment, and customer service for yourself before committing to a membership. Your members deserve clear communication, working equipment, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.

While this isn't my favorite YMCA location, it has all you need for a great workout. The Habersham Branch recently moved a lot of their equipment around, and I'm not a huge fan of the change. The main workout area is tightly squeezed together, and it can be a little chaotic. I mainly come to this location for the classes. They have a large group fitness room for strength training and yoga classes, which I love! I do think joining the YMCA is a great deal considering the price and the fact that you can use multiple locations. The gym caters to all fitness levels, and again, the unlimited classes are amazing! From spin to pilates to zumbaa and kickboxing, there is definitely something for everyone!

This YMCA didn't provide me a breakdown of what my toddler was going to go over. I didn't even know that was a thing until another YMCA gave me a welcome sheet at the first class! They set the standard high. It's summer, so there are a lot of people and summer camps, especially with it being a noon class. They could definitely increase the seating area for parents, and put more shaded areas. The pool is a little tight. The kids water play area is awesome, for babies and older kids. It's not a terrible YMCA, but it's definitely congested and I've experienced better instructors and customer service elsewhere.
