Terrible service. Do NOT hire this company. Unprofessional and unethical. The Block Party Game truck came to our elementary school for an hour as a reward for selected eligible students. The company owner refused to let students begin to play because, as he claimed, there was a discrepancy in numbers. The students had to wait for 20 min outside, while he was on the phone with someone and argued with the school staff members. Eventually, the head of the fundraiser company that paid for the truck directed the Block Party Game to accept the students. Although the service was hired for one hour, and the students began the game at 9:20am, the truck closed up and left at 10:00am. I would not recommend this company that creates so much negativity under a banner of positive experience. read more

I order them for my son 16th Birthday and they was to arrive at 7:00 pm . They did show and they did call , I call at 7:30 to see why they were late . They said the truck was breaking down early that day at another party . But they did call or let me know they were having problems. So my son was very upset they did show and he was very embarrassed . And on top of that they said they would give me my deposit, but they did . So that is not how to held business . read more

Stay away if you think about using them for a school event!! They were at a school fair on Friday and COMPLETELY BOMBED!!! None of the kids wanted to go inside, and it was impossible to even see the games on the TVs outside until it got dark. They were paid $500 and were supposed to take Game tickets, but they took ride tickets instead- the school lost almost all $500 and the ride company ended up making the $50 they did end up getting in tickets for the WHOLE NIGHT. Definitely a bad idea for a school fair as the two guys that were there didn't even know how to take directions or approach the kids (two middle aged guys in a closed off environment were really intimidating for the kids). So I decided to surprise my Grandson for his 8th Birthday. My friend recommended Block party game truck. I called Jerry and he met with me the very same day. He was funny and courteous. We agreed on the terms and my rental. On the day of the party he called me several times to update me. He arrived at the party twenty minutes early and was Ready for the children before our agreed time. My grandson was so surprised he was screaming. Even my neighbors were coming out of their houses to see this massive game truck. Jerrys Children (Adult Son and Daughter) assisted the children with the games. They were so knowledgeable, kind and patient. All the kids had so much fun. Also that gave me two hours to straighten up my house and clean the pool area. The kids said this was the best party ever. I used this service to celebrate my son's 12th. Surprise Birthday Party. The guy showed up 30min late, the young and "professional" staff he promised would be handling my event were not there. Instead this "creepy old 40 year old man" (his words used to describe himself) was there.to handle the party!! When I originally booked him, he required a $100 deposit to schedule my party, wich I had no problem doing. He assured me that I was the last party for the night, and that I would have no problem extending the 2 hour minimum. Not only did he show up late, but then told my kids they would have 2min. To "get out of his truck", when I approached him to adk what was going on, he then tells me his daughter double booked him at 3pm. (my party wasat 6pm. But he didnt show up until 6:30pm.) And that he had to bump her up to 9pm. When I explained how that put me in a bad position based on the 2 conversations where he ASSURED me that It would not be a problem to extend my time and add additional hours, he basically said: I messed up, but there's nothing I can do about it, pay your bill and let me get out of here!!! Rude!! I will NEVER use this clown again!! We manage 4 baseball teams and could have brought him great business, but instead he decided to be unprofessional, rude, and unethical. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone! In my opinion, Block Party Game Truck is unprofessional, unethical and fraudulent. I booked Block Party Game Truck for my son's birthday party approximately 5 weeks in advance. At the time of the booking, I was charged a $100 advance payment and was issued a "booking number" as confirmation of my party. However when I booked my party, I requested that I receive an email/written confirmation of my party details (date, location, fee). Jerry informed me that he was unable to send me an email that day because he was not in the office. I advised him that he could email me the following day. Needless to say, I never received an email confirmation. Over the next 2 weeks I made multiple attempts to contact Jerry. Every time I called (which was during business hours), Jerry asked me to "call him back" because he was either "on the way to an event at a school" or "he didn't have his book with him". Jerry NEVER returned my calls. When I did speak with Jerry, I provided him with my "booking number" and he said that he could NOT confirm my party because he did not have his "book". At that point, I felt very skeptical about this company because most child party entertainers/event companies usually either provide you with a written contract or at least an email confirming the date of the party! I therefore decided to cancel my party with him. I cancelled 3 weeks prior to the scheduled date. On Block Party Game Truck's website it states cancellation 14 days or more prior will not incur any fees/ cost. When I spoke with Jerry, I requested that he refund my $100 per the guidelines specified on his website. Jerry asked me to "call him back so we could discuss it". I advised him, that I would not call him back and that I would like my money refunded. Two days later, I texted him inquiring about my refund and he replied that he "requested a copy of my charge and was in the process of refunding me". Two months later still NO REFUND!! I attempted to call Jerry last week to inquire about my refund and he "asked me to call him back". I understand companies are busy hosting events, but at some point the company should return a call to the customer. When I confronted Jerry about this he laughed and stated in a sarcastic tone, "well I am busy"! If you are considering to use this guy, please think twice! Prior to booking with this guy I should of read the previous yelp reviews from Annie F on 4/21/13 & DJK on 5/2/13 who described similar issues with this company. read more

Hello! I used this company for a large event that I organized for my job and they did a great job and I will be using them in the future! They were prompt, professional, the vehicle is clean and their staff was awesome. As for the comment made by Jenny W....well....I do sympathize with the original Game Truck if they have become victims of copyright infringement. However, Game Truck doesn't return phone calls and I'm not the only one that has this complaint. This poor custmer service is how I found out about Block Party. I saw an ad that Game Truck placed, I got excited because I hadn't seen anything like it before. I called several times before someone called me and then I set-up an appointment for them to come out to see my venue (wanted to make sure the truck would fit) and the guy didn't show up! I was sold on the concept of the mobile arcade truck but NOT on Game Truck. So I looked for another option and found Block Party. I wouldn't be a Block Party customer if Game Truck had called me back. So, as a consumer, I suggest that they improve their customer service.
