The service was friendly. The drinks, starters and mains came fast even during rush lunch time. It's a little on the pricier side for the portion sizes but you can expect consistent quality from them. You'll have to ask for steak sauce, ketchup etc. because they will not give it to you up front unless you specifically ask for it. Place seemed clean, restrooms included. Go for the lunch hour deals to save some bucks. Also, they're very big on making everything about "die Damen" vs "die Herren" with the customers, even on their menu ("Mrs. Rumpsteak" for a smaller portion and "Mr. Rumpsteak" for a bigger portion) and make a big deal out of a guy ordering a "girly" drink and a woman ordering a beer. Which is kinda annoying. Personally I wish they would let that go but most of the clientele there seem to like that kind of prejudiced banter. read more

What a delicious fare paired with excellent customer service! We (a group of three) were seated after about a five minute wait, but we were greeted immediately upon arrival. We were given menus which all of the selections sounded good. I settled with the carrot and ginger soup, salad with Hamburg dressing, filet mignon cooked medium and a glass of merlot. Everything was cooked well and tasted delicious. I particularly enjoyed my soup. It didn't have an overpowering amount of ginger like a lot of soups of that nature have. The flavor was well balanced and very good. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. I in particular don't like too much seasoning on my steak as it takes away from the flavor of the steak in my opinion. The customer service was excellent. All of our requests were fulfilled and the staff continuously checked on us and were very friendly. The atmosphere was very casual, ample lighting, very clean and organized. It wasn't too crowded and seemed to flow well. Overall, I think for the food given the price was very reasonable and the service topped the cake. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Block House never dissapoints and its always a solid choice at a gr8 price. Had my favourite dish here, the lamb loin on a bed of spinach with herbed butter, garlic bread and potatoe gratin. The price with a glass of Malbec was about 27 € wich is really good for the quality. Very fast and efficient service with a good old german smile! read more
