Tom Wagner at Howard Hanna was a great listing agent; he sold our house for a great price in just a…read morefew months. He made the process completely hassle free, and delivered with a quick sale at a good price. I met with Tom in late summer when I was trying to find a listing agent to sell our house in Estral Beach. This was the first house I listed through a realtor and I had lots of questions. Tom knows his stuff and his answers to my questions were relevant, straightforward, and honest. He came prepared and knowledgeable of the area. He had great ideas for listing the place, including some prep work for me to complete prior to listing, and the listing price he suggested was in line with what I had been planning. We listed it high and dropped the price just a bit a couple of months later to generate more interest. We showed the house about a dozen times before the right buyer came through, and Tom was great about filling me in on the feedback from potential buyers as they came through. Tom was always available, always responding quickly to texts and phone calls. He did a great job qualifying potential buyers to verify that any offer was financially backed and solid. We got an offer, countered, and settled on price over a weekend. I had already moved to Wisconsin, and Tom made the entire closing process quick and hassle free; I didn't even need to come back to Michigan for the closing. He responded quickly and knowledgably to all my questions, working out all the details - I just had to sign a few documents and over-night them back just prior to closing. Tom also wound up being the buyer's agent in our sale, performing the dual role with integrity, candor, and honesty. I couldn't be happier with the entire process and the results. My wife insisted on burying a St Joseph statue in the yard so maybe we had some help from above, but I think it was Tom that made the sale work out so perfect for us.

Hands down the absolute WORST bank I've ever dealt with. The only competent people they ever had…read morehave retired and now you are dealing with probably people who are being paid minimum wage and have NO IDEA what they are doing. Over the years, they have screwed up my mortgage (quoted me an interest rate when we refinanced and then when we showed up for closing, it was full interest rate higher) and I walked out and called the President or whatever he was of Fifth Third and he fixed it. Had excellent credit so could have gone anywhere. Then they gave us a home equity line of credit ON A HOUSE WE DIDN'T EVEN OWN ANYMORE. Our prior house! Now.....they have screwed up my IRA. When I rolled it over into their bank after I retired, I only did so because the VP at the time was very sharp and knew what she was doing. I have NO checking or SAVINGS there for a reason. Now, all they have are a bunch of flunkies who have NO IDEA what they are doing. Like every other business, the CEO's are making the big money and they are hiring minimum wage people. I set up my IRA with them when I retired in 2015, and figured I'd better check to make sure my beneficiary form is right because my copy is not signed or dated. Well, they HAD NO RECORD OF THIS FORM WHATSOEVER. I went today....they checked...NOPE DIDN'T HAVE IT. The guy who I talked to today argued with me whether Michigan is a community property state! NEWSFLASH! IT'S NOT. I can make anyone I want my beneficiary. He asked what my marital status is....which DOESN'T EVEN MATTER IN MICHIGAN. I had to fill out a NEW BENEFICIARY FORM, he said the one I had was outdated. I made the guy Google whether Michigan is a community property state before I left! He didn't even know this. Don't you think a bank should know? I asked him if I would get something in the mail reminding me when I have to take mandatory distributions. He said no. Today, I was told by the "manager" yes, I would. I cannot explain just how incompetent this bank is and if it were easy to do, I'd roll my IRA into my credit union but seems like they want me to talk to a "finance manager" first. When I am smarter than a bank manager, it's time for me to go elsewhere. RUN....don't walk from this bank.
