Slice of heaven - chocolate cake
Rhea R.

No regrets trying this new place close to my house! I ordered the Bangsilog (fish, egg, and fried rice) -- YUMM! The vinegar added perfection to the mix, bringing all the flavors together. The pastries are on point, especially the chocolate cake -- rich, moist, and not too sweet. Definitely will order again!

So good! Highly recommended!

Excellent crispy pata! The meat was perfect and juicy. It just falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. The skin is so flavorful and crispy. It's one of the best I've ever had! Try their chocolate cake too! It's so moist and dense. Perfect dessert!

Chocolate cake, lechon belly, chicharon bulaklak.

My son and I met up here with one of his good friends and her 2 kids. She is Filipina and guided us…read morethrough the food. We let her order for us since we are not too familiar with Filipino cuisine and were down for anything! Of course, we know the standard dishes like adobo, lumpia, and pan cit, but this was a whole new world for us. We walked in on the 12th of this month at 4:30pm and were greeted by Roxanne behind the counter. The way this place works is that you can see the hot food in the case as if it were a cafeteria and you tell the employee which ones you want. There are many types of dishes to choose, ranging from seafood to stews, lumpia, rice/garlic rice, and street food style skewers. We tried a little bit of everything! For drinks we tried the Melon drink. They make it in-house and it was FANTASTIC! SO refreshing and really hits the spot on a hot day. We also shared the Calamansi Lemonade (not made in-house) and it was a bit too tangy for my palate. I preferred the Melon drink. For our food, I don't even know where to start. We had a vast variety of items on the table, including: Lumpia, Fried Fish, Garlic Rice, Chicken Adobo, veggie small egg rolls, Sinigang, Pork Dinuguan, Bitter Melon, and Longanisa Sausage. For the street food skewers, we tried a bunch of different ones including Fish Cake, Lobster, Pig Ears, and even Chicken Intestine. This was definitely an adventurous experience and we enjoyed it. Some items more than others, but overall it was a good experience. Some of the food was hot and some of it was just lukewarm. One thing that really disappointed me was that they didn't sell any pan cit. It's my favorite Filipino food and I love noodles in general. I was really looking forward to eating some, but oh well. For dessert, we tried their Buko Pandan drink along with their Halo Halo. They were very delicious and refreshing! Also well balanced and not overwhelmingly sweet. The restaurant is super clean and decently sized. For some reason, the music is louder than usual. They were playing some nice '80s jams when we got there, then they switched to some live Filipino bands, then a DJ Megamix of 2010s pop hits. We could hardly hear our thoughts. That's how loud the music was. So actually, they share this space between two different restaurants. On one end you have Kusina ni Kuya but they are also partnered with the Seafood Boil restaurant next door. They both share the dining area. They have one restroom for men and one for women. Both were clean, but the trash in the women's restroom needed to be emptied. They also offer catering. Parking lot is shared with other businesses. We had a great time catching up with each other and if you're looking for some authentic Filipino food in Northridge, you should check this place out!

They do karaoke on weekends and their plate pricing is fair compared to other chains. Food is always served HOT and tastes freshly homemade. This has easily become a top contender for me as someone who loooooves seafood broil.

Been wanting to try them and finally got to last Friday when they had their popup at Mason Park!…read more Thankfully it's a huge and nice park with tons of street parking! We got there around 4:30 is which was about 30 minutes after they opened and they were still settling in but were able to take our order. Greeted by the friendliest couple, Sherille and Lou (sp?)! They had their kids to watch as well but they managed everything just fine! Food took about 15 minutes after we ordered and we took them home to enjoy! We ordered their special 3 for $8 chicken sisig tacos and the pulled pork adobo tacos. I had to get the piña-mania juice and ended up getting another one for my mom in the end because there was no way I could share mine LOL!! Shoutout to Sherille for also giving us complimentary lumpia and empanaditas for being their first customers of the day!! SUPER crisp, perfect texture, delish!! The star of the show was the Ube Tres Leches for sure! Not too sweet and loved every bite. The tacos in the photos on their menu had sauce on top but when we got home, there was sadly no sauce. We managed and made our own chipotle mayo thing to put on top, otherwise it would've been too dry. Overall the flavors were delicious! Some of the tortillas got a bit hard so maybe it's best to eat while you're there but still enjoyed everything! Looking forward to visiting them again and trying their other menu items! The food is on point and everyone there is very kind and will explain everything to you. The Olympia would probably make anyone eat until they are sick. It is so delicious. All of their food have it be the pork belly or the Sis egg with Ponset noodles everything here is on point and their rice is pretty good too. They were kind enough to give me a military discount as well, so be sure to ask them if you can prove your service or first responder ID Can't wait to see them more often!!

We had Chicken & Mushroom Gravy, Fish Fillet with Garlic Butter Veggies, and Beef Kare-Kare -- all chef's kiss! I say "dependable" because they serve up the typical Filipino favorites, including breakfast combos. You can also order party trays like I have in the past when I needed 150 pcs of lumpiang shanghai quickly. They always have a good selection and really everything tastes good. My usual faves are Bicol Express, any of their Adobos, Menudo, Mongo, Pork Sisig, any of their breakfast combos, Tortang Talong, Lyempo, Kare Kare, and Lechon Kawali. We don't have many options in this neighborhood, so we are fortunate that the one Filipino restaurant we have nearby is actually really good. And they are consistent! Something other Filipino restaurants tend to struggle with is consistency. This is why they are our dependable Filipino restaurant. And I hope they stay forever. Street parking in front and a parking lot in back, and both are free and always available.
