Cakes by Katya might be a hidden gem. We stopped in for a…read morelight morning bite and after eating we ended up walking out with a box of six croissants to go, because there was no way we were leaving without more. The croissants are exceptional. Golden and flaky. And the fillings are where things get really special. We tried two but bought a variety, and each one has its own personality. We paired our croissants with a London Fog and a mocha, both solid. They also have fresh juices and water available, which is a nice touch. The cafe itself is clean, bright, and inviting. Parking had ample spots available. The staff were warm, friendly, and clearly take pride in what they serve and how they treat customers. It looks like they make custom cakes too. The hand-drawn logo alone tells you the level of artistry and care this place operates with. Highly recommend. Don't sleep on this place.

The cakes were so balanced between a light and airy cake and wonderfully flavored, not too sweet, fillings and icings. I have sensitive teeth so the fact I ate 4 slices without any problem really was great for me. Just the right amount of sugar to let the flavors pop. We ended up ordering a 2 tier cake and 2 1/2 sheets of cake for $400. What I believed to be a steal for that much wedding cake. Excellent experience. Both times we taste tested and came back to place the deposit, I ordered a croissant, 1 biscoff and 1 tiramisu custard. The croissants are the best I've had. The perfect texture and her spreads inside are amazing. Katya is wonderful and we really love her small bakery. Wishing her all the success she can handle.

BOOZY CUPCAKES. Sounded interesting to me! Pop-up at the Broadway Market, box of 6 for $28. Iirc,…read morethey are $5/ each. They had six flavors: sangria - fruity, wine; honey whiskey - topped with a Biscoff; piña colada - not pictured because I skipped that one; mojito - lime and rum; black forest - chocolate cupcake with boozy cherry; peanut butter whiskey - also a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Presentation and toppings were all really lovely and looked delicious. Super creative concept all around. Most of the cupcakes were yellow or white cake, the rum, whiskey, and wine were noticeable but not strong. So you knew they were there, but not overwhelmed. Some people might actually want them to be stronger! The flavors in general were subtle but clear. The frostings were all pretty light and pleasant, which is nice. I know there's a lot of people who really like dense buttercream and cream cheese frostings and for whom cupcakes are a frosting delivery vehicle. These are not those. Plenty of rich and delicious frosting for the cupcake but not too much. The cupcakes are not following the super sized trend; they're a nice cupcake sized cupcake. This makes it easy to rationalize eating two at a time because, um, you wanted to compare flavors. Yep, that's totally why. I liked all the flavors I tried, but was surprised that my favorite was the chocolate peanut butter and my second favorite was the mojito. Only comments would be there's some variability as to the moistness or dryness of the cake part, and the filled ones could use more filling. The people at the pop-up (I forgot to ask if they were the bakers/ owners) are really nice and happy to answer any questions or customize an order. As you can tell by my substituting an extra black forest for the piña colada. They'll be back at the Broadway Market for Dyngus Day!

Bakery is nothing to look at, but the cupcakes were beautiful, in a beautiful clear bubble pack that was solid. Almost a work of art. The flavors were all well received. A giant cupcake painted on the wall adds even more drama to the whole picture. I agree, I'm not the one who should judge the taste of cupcakes, but what I tried was very good. The texture of Cookies and Cream was moist with a firm beautifully swirled frosting made of vanilla buttercream. The Butterfinger was even better. The best thing about my experience was that it didn't feel like eating pure sugar. All ingredients were nicely balanced and truly satisfying. We visited on Saturday very early afternoon. I knew the best way to have what is most desirable is pre ordering. From the eight kinds of cupcakes offered this day, we were able to have just two. Everything else was already sold out. Babycakes Cupcakery offers more than just regular cupcakes. I saw photos of beautifully decorated mini cakes and jumbo cupcakes. I would definitely treat someone I like with their luscious creations. I enjoyed it fully on my special day.

It is more of a takeout situation than dine in as there are only 4 seats along the window looking into the cat habitat. They offer a variety of coffee, tea & boba drinks as well as baked goods and some merch. I ordered an unsweet Dan cong hot tea latte and egg tarts and my friend got a brown sugar boba tea and biscoff cake. I like that you can customize the sweetness of any beverage from no sweetness to very sweet since everyone likes a different cup of tea so to speak. The baked goods case was very limited when we visited (around 2pm on a Saturday), but we both liked our picks. The egg tarts came in a pack of 4 packaged in a sturdy wooden box (so sturdy I'm reusing it now to hold spice jars) for $10. The tarts were a slightly sweet custard like egg filling in a crispy, flaky phyllo type shell. Very yummy! My tea was also really good; a nice balance between the tea & milk. My friend's cake was light, airy and spongy. So delicious! She was kind enough to let me taste it and I loved it even though I'm not a huge cake person. She also thought it was fantastic. She enjoyed her bubble tea as well. It came in a thick plastic cup with a snap on cover for the straw hole, so it too could easily be reused. I would definitely visit again to try other drinks and hopefully hit the baked goods case when it's full! The service was friendly and efficient.
