THIS IS NOT THE EYESITE!! Lisa and her top-notch crew (Meaghan, Stephen, etc) are all gone, and there's no one here from before. I wanted new frames and was due for an eye exam, so I thought I would try Blink out as I knew they would have my old records from the EyeSite. I have no concers about the optomotrist, Dr. Komba, she was thorough and pleasant. But the staff is another matter. I was dealing with a woman who seemed to be in a supervisory role. I found a frame I liked, not too expensive, and I told her I had no insurance and was paying out of pocket. Despite that, she quotes me nearly $1000 for glasses - the most expensive lens she has with all the bells and whistles. I have a straightforward progressive lens; I've always used a very basic lens and have never had anti-glare coatings and all the extras. I basically had to argue with her to get her down to a price I could afford. It was very difficult and upsetting. Our discussions would go like this: "You have to have anti-glare coating" "But I have no problem with glare, and I don't have that coating now" "But you should have it". She just wasn't listening to me as a person.
I finally got down to something that's still $200 more than I've ever spent, and out of sheer fatigue I gave in. Then the problems continued. I asked them to check my file because the transitions on my lenses are in unusual positions. They clearly didnt, because after waiting A FULL MONTH for my glasses, I coudn't wear them because the transitions were in the wrong place. I tried for two weeks but I just couldn't manage with them. When I took them back in to tell them that there was a problem, the fellow actually tried to convince me that changing how the glasses sit (ie., adjusting the nosepads) would fix the problem. This time I just insisted on being re-measured and re-marked, and then he finally agreed, and 10 days later I got my new glasses, and they're fine.
My whole family went to the EyeSite for more than 15 years. I referred many people to them. I am actively discouraging all those people from going to Blink Crowfoot. This was atrocious customer service, and I will never go back. My husband just took his prescription and went elsewhere.
One note - this may be an issue with the Crowfoot location only. I had to see Dr. Komba at the Creekside location for some special tests, and while I was there I listened to the staff at that location help a mother with two children who needed glasses. She also had no insurance. The staff there were very kind, telling her which features were important (and why), and which features were "nice to have" but not critical. An entirely different customer service work ethic, at least from that employee. read more
