Much like the Deaf School Gateway to the south, the Blind School Gateway is a collaborative plaza featuring tiled artwork created by a local artist and the students (staff too) of the school. Artist Tim Ryan worked with the school in 2001 to create three towers on the east side of the school that is connected to the Monon Trail. Each of the towers is a different height and features unique tiles: some look like they were carved into, while others extend out with a myriad of shapes.
Fans of the artist can see more of his work where College crosses over the White River around 57th Street. Fans of the style of work can also check out the Deaf School Gateway along the Monon just north of the State Fairgrounds (around 42nd).
