The south face of the Indianapolis Central Library added a pair of cast bronze sculptures by artist Peter Shelton in 2009. On the west side is a 40' human figure that is stretched out of proportion and is attached to the wall. Over on the east side of the entrance is another piece that looks like a giant inner tube with a small bird perched on the side. The abstract shapes have no specific story behind them other than the artist liked them.
The abstract images create a bit of contrast to the classic style of the building they are attached to.
