He came with recommendations which helped with my decision making. He did state that the installation would more than likely take place within 4 weeks of the estimate. We agreed to the price and the time frame. A couple of weeks later, I decided to add on the master bedroom to the project. Josh once again came by and sent me the estimate which we agreed to. Unfortunately, this ended up delaying the install since I wanted them done all at once: living room, loft and bedroom. The installers showed up on the scheduled date and time. Took them almost a full day for the install since they had thirteen windows to complete, including the French door in the bedroom. Installers were friendly and tried to work around my conference calls since I was working from home. Noise was inevitable but in the long run, well worth the fresh look it gave my house.

On June 5, 2025, South Texas Draperies (with showroom at 7515 Grissom Road, #103, San Antonio)…read moreprovided a quote to install 19 window shades inside my home. On July 28, 2025, I paid approximately half of the total project cost to get it started. Installation began August 9, 2025. The first pieces were installed improperly, and the installer broke one of our glass window panes. South Texas Draperies said he would deduct the cost of the window replacement from the total bill, and he would find a different installer to complete our project. On August 19, 2025, the other installer fixed some of the improperly installed window shades and suggested how to remedy some of the other improperly installed window shades. I made a second payment to move the project forward, and soon thereafter, the final window shades were installed. However, the blackout shades were not installed properly. On September 16, 2025, the improperly installed blackout shades were fixed except for one end cap that was broken. John said repairing the broken end cap on the blackout shade would be a warranty repair. I called South Texas Draperies to get the schedule for the warranty repair on September 22, September 29, November 4 and November 6, but he did not provide a schedule. On November 18, the installer came to fix the broken end cap, but communications were not clear, so the warranty repair was not performed. On November 25, I informed South Texas Draperies that several of the shades were no longer rolling up and would need to be fixed or replaced. South Texas Draperies did not respond to my calls or text messages. Because some of the shades would not roll up, on December 3, 2025 our painters had to temporarily remove some of the shades so they could paint the windows. South Texas Draperies later claimed that the warranty was voided because the shades had been removed by our painters. On March 23, 2026, I came home to see one of the shades had fallen to the ground. That was the last straw, so I am writing this message to warn others.

Also this is Family Owned Business not a "Chain of stores with rude and pushy people" just saying We specifically looked for Blackout shades, always hated lights on the side of the windows, we finally found a solution- NORMAN shades, you going to get a 100% blackout, you can pick a design, texture and a color of shades, motorized or manual ‍ (it's amazing) Ruben who installed our shades is awesome! I added some pics of before and after just to help someone else in decision and look of blackout Norman shades. Master bedroom and very wide kids room window, which few companies told us we can't have a one solid full channel on the kids room, that would had to be like 3 separate and there is no blackout afterwards...well Jim made that super easy with one channel, smooth! Thank you Jim, Lara and Ruben! We are very happy and will be back for adding more shades

After interviewing River City Windows and meeting with Jim, we decided to go with his family-owned business! Jim brought samples, explained the difference in the shades (light-filtering or room-darkening), and offered advice for each set of windows. Truly professional installation (dedicated crew, no third party subcontractors) with cleanup! They then showed us in detail how to operate the controllers and the phone app. The photos below show light-filtering shades in the living and dining rooms, and blackout shades in the master bedroom. With the blackout shades, they install tracks to seal out all light! It's incredible! Highly recommend!

So Delighted with Delightful Blinds~…read more Johnathan and Phillip, my representatives from Delightful Blinds designed window coverings for my Office, Kitchen door and upstairs Gym. I had previously commissioned the talents of Restoration Hardware to cover my floor to ceiling windows but wanted something a little cheaper and versatile for my other spaces. Johnathan and Phillip arrived to my home with several examples of linen and blinds to choose from and I informed them that I wanted something to remind of my great home on the East Coast. We selected a wide Plantation Shutter for my office and they expertly matched my downstairs kitchen selection to my existing RH roman shades. The colors and fabric choice was spot on and anyone examining the piece would have thought they were from the same store. To carry on the Meditation theme in my gym, the designers helped me select a nice thin wood bamboo that mirrored the tones and wood choice I had selected in my space. The wood was a nice warm tone and I was overwhelmed with the enormous and exquisite selection. The price was competitive and comparable to what I had seen around the area and surprisingly enough, my military discount brought down the cost considerably. I also received a great price by deciding to add in the gym and after seeing the work installed I'm very glad I did. The installers were very professional and came to my home and installed on the weekend because of my busy schedule. I would definitely recommend Delightful Blinds and was pleased that they came to my home for a consultation within one day of my initial call.. Please do give them a try and I assure you will be just as Delighted. Pictures attached for your viewing Pleasure. ~ soooooo Delighted~

Such value for my $$$! But perhaps most important to me is the quality of the materials they use. Beautiful, durable screen with warranty. Thick aluminum frames (much meatier than my neighbors), and they didn't just screw them into my windows. They use metal clamps to secure the frames, not plastic like others I've seen fail in the Texas sun. My screens really have an affect on the temperature inside my house.
