As I quickly learned, "walking in here with self-control is like bringing a snowball to Florida." It simply doesn't exist! Mine certainly didn't. I ended up leaving with two peach fry pies, a loaf of cheddar jalapeño bread, and a glazed donut. My wife chose one of their giant fresh-baked pretzels with cream cheese. It was served warm and was absolutely delicious. Then I dug into the glazed donut, and wow--light, fluffy, and it practically melted in my mouth. This was our first visit, but there's no doubt we'll be back. In fact, I can easily see us becoming regulars. A quick heads-up: they accept cash or checks, but no credit cards, so plan accordingly. Country Crust also has a cute little café area where they serve pizzas and sandwiches. From what I saw, those sandwiches were absolutely ginormous. I didn't order one this time, but trust me, the brisket on a pretzel bun and the Reuben both have my name written all over them for a future visit. If you're anywhere near Bainbridge and have a sweet tooth--or just appreciate great homemade baked goods--do yourself a favor and make the drive. Finally after clearing my voice a few times and the woman weighing cookies finally saying something, I had to loudly say "hello I'm here for a pickup." After they seemed annoyed I was even there, they got my name & then snickered to each other and 1 walked over to the woman on the other side mixing the dough. One of the women finally came up to talk to me (this was after being there for 10-12 mins already) and told me although I was able to order the cookies online their system is "screwed up" and the they didn't have the toffee cakes I ordered, they were out of all the cookies but 1. Obviously I was aggravated & asked about a refund because they were already paid for. She did something on the computer & said "we're sorry, you should be refunded sometime soon." The other woman whom was making the cookie dough apologized & sent me on my way.... No receipt, no nothing & after telling me I should have a refund soon, they just walked away from me." I will for sure never return to this, I will drive a fair distance if I even decide to try crumble again!!!

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie…read more I oicked up a "large" Pumpkin Pie from Paula Vegas today and could not be more disappointed. It's small. Normal 8 inch for a "large". There was not a lot of pumpkin filling and the crust was crumbled and dark. The Paula Vega quality has definitely plummeted. No pink box either. Just a pie tin covered with aluminum foil.
