It's not that service was rude, but she seemed more preoccupied with checking her phone and I felt like I was disturbing her when I asked what their products were (nothing was labeled). We decided on a cream horn, strawberry poptart, and a cream filled donut. The poptart tasted really fake and dry. The cream in the cream horn had a balanced flavor but the pastry was dry. The "cream filled" donut had next to no cream inside and did not taste fresh. The icings on top of the donuts were cracked and dry (we could literally peel it off). We didn't finish anything that we ordered and would not recommend this place based on our experience.

We were out exploring the area when we stumbled across this charming little bakery run by a group of Amish girls. The moment you walk through the door, your senses go into overdrive. The smell of freshly baked pies, cookies, breads, and pastries fills the air, and I swear I started drooling before I even reached the display case. As I quickly learned, "walking in here with self-control is like bringing a snowball to Florida." It simply doesn't exist! Mine certainly didn't. I ended up leaving with two peach fry pies, a loaf of cheddar jalapeño bread, and a glazed donut. My wife chose one of their giant fresh-baked pretzels with cream cheese. It was served warm and was absolutely delicious. Then I dug into the glazed donut, and wow--light, fluffy, and it practically melted in my mouth. This was our first visit, but there's no doubt we'll be back. In fact, I can easily see us becoming regulars. A quick heads-up: they accept cash or checks, but no credit cards, so plan accordingly. Country Crust also has a cute little café area where they serve pizzas and sandwiches. From what I saw, those sandwiches were absolutely ginormous. I didn't order one this time, but trust me, the brisket on a pretzel bun and the Reuben both have my name written all over them for a future visit. If you're anywhere near Bainbridge and have a sweet tooth--or just appreciate great homemade baked goods--do yourself a favor and make the drive. Your taste buds will thank you, even if your diet won't. "Worth every calorie and every mile driven."

Nothing fancy, no gimmicks--just a classic donut shop that focuses on doing things right. We ended up going with a nice mix: two glazed donuts, two blueberry cake donuts, a long john, and a half dozen donut holes. Everything was fresh, soft, and had that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture. The glazed donuts were light and classic, the blueberry cake had a great flavor without being too heavy, and the long john was filled just right. Even the donut holes were hard to stop eating. You can tell these are made with care, not mass-produced. It all tasted like it was made that morning. What I really liked is how simple and straightforward it is. Walk in, pick what you want, and you're out the door with something that just hits the spot. Service was friendly and quick, and the whole place has that old-school neighborhood vibe that's getting harder to find. Overall, if you're in Lancaster and want a solid donut--this is your spot. Brian's Tip: Go early. The best selection goes fast, and once people know about this place, those trays don't stay full for long.
