We love Blenko Glass Company and have for many years. The showroom, museum upstairs and the glassblowing exhibit area are all awesome. Glass blowing in America is becoming a lost art. I love that Blenko is still in business and thriving. They have a large selection of glass in the showroom with 2nds (small imperfections) at a reduced rate and great value. I have always admired the Blenko vases. At a weak moment, I purchased two vases ... a cobalt blue and a white vase that when exposed to sunlight will glow in the dark (green). Can't wait to see it glow. As you can see, the vases/containers are huge. I can't wait to use them. Hopefully, tomorrow I will make an addendum to my review when my vase glows in the dark. read more

Wouldn't recommend anyone coming here unless they want second quality items for a large price and poor customer service. Skip this place and buy the vintage items. Absolutely gorgeous and unique glass pieces can be found at Blenko. It's about a 30 minute drive outside of Charleston. I loved the glass detail found in everything at the property. From the signage to the hallways, and the zen "glass garden" you can walk through. Upstairs, they have a museum area with a lot of interesting pieces from the past and history of the Blenko family and how the business began. Once you pass through the museum, you can walk into an observation area where you can watch the glass blowing process. Some of the artists actually spoke and walked us through the process which was neat to see and hear about. Finally, we went back to the gift shop where there was so much to choose from. I went home with one of the classic square vases in green, a suncatcher and a unique glass that my boyfriend will use for whiskey pours. read more

I have been a long time blenko fan and collector. Today, while in the visitor center I noticed an employee with longer brown curly hair and a red shirt interacting in a rude way with a young lady. It appeared the lady asked the employee a question, but the employee never answered her and dismissed her to ask another employee how to ring up one of the items. Once the young lady made her purchase , she appeared to thank the employee and said, 'have a nice day'. The employee answered 'uh huh' without even making eye contact with this young woman or reciprocating such a simple and friendly gesture. I was appalled. This is not customer service and I felt ashamed to even watch this interaction. I hope this employee has some retraining on how to interact with people. It's such a simple thing to be nice to someone, i doubt this is how blenko wants to be portrayed. read more

I ordered a second water, pitcher and it came with a/through the entire back of the piece. I contacted customer support where they asked for pictures and they were sent. The damage to the piece was noted by the customer support person, but they informed me that they would not refund or replace the item. Since we are ordering this by mail and don't get to inspect the item we're purchasing, it would be helpful for them to offer returns or refunds. Instead, they did nothing to a customer who has bought from them previously. Will not be purchasing from them again and suggest you don't as you don't know what you're getting by mail and they won't help you. read more

I'd read a NYT article about the specific type of sand they have in this area that is found nowhere else in the country. So, there are many glassblowers here. Blenko is possibly the most iconic, it's been here for years. If you are a fan of Mid Century Modern, some of the most recognizeable pieces were designed and made by Blenko. What I bought in the gift shop were a several chunks of solid, colorful glass. Beautiful! I came here to find my mother a birthday present. Blenko is one of the last blown-glass companies around. There's a section of the store with flawed items for cheap - but if you're not a glass maker it's often difficult to find any flaws! I bought my mom a vase - had to send her half a dozen photos to choose from or I would have heard "they didn't have...?" or "why didn't you get me a bowl?" or "they didn't have it in [red/blue/green/clear]?" The lady in the shop was helpful and friendly, and though I got there right before closing (by accident), she didn't rush me out of the shop. I bought a vase and a glass ring. Never, ever order anything from Blenko glass online or if it's for a special occasion. Blenko glass is very beautiful but the company has zero customer support and no follow through on orders. I ordered a special cicada suncatcher to commemorate a good time my daughter and I had. For many reasons it was important to me that she receive it soon after she left from a visit. But, it's been three weeks and I received no shipment notification from Blenko. Despite two phone calls, no one has called me back. One week ago I was told via an anonymous email that it would be cast and drilled that week. Still no shipment notification. I finally broke down three weeks later and ordered another cicada gift for her and asked Blenko to refund my money. Just terrible, terrible customer service. read more

This place was a major disappointment. Granted we were there on a Sunday, but there were no glass blowers on site. We were told that as soon as we walked in the door by the employee. The glass displays are lovely but the style is mostly modern and artsy which is not my taste. I was hoping for more down home and practical glass. This is one of two places we had specifically stopped in Milton for that day. This place is a little difficult to fine although there is lots of signage. We were told we could come back the next day at 9 a.m. to see the demonstrations but unfortunately we could not. read more

We love coming to the Blenko Factory in West Virginia. We've been several times and will probably go again. It is free to go and see the museum of the different glass from over the years, as well as watch the glass blowing. You can stay as long as you want. The kids love to watch, then run around on the grass, come back and watch some more. The glass blowing is just the coolest thing to watch and I would highly recommend this as a stop when you are in the area. You can also get some great Blenko glass in the store that you can't get online. They have great little trinkets, oops pieces to purchases and items you can only get there at the factory. It's a great place to pick up a gift for a friend or family member. We have several Blenko pieces ourselves. The staff is so nice and friendly and the kids do a really good job, even though all you can visualize is a bull in a glass shop. We love this place and can't wait to go back! read more

We went here expecting a tour. Yes there is a tour but it's self guided. By self guided I mean it's about 100 feet long where you can watch the employees work. Very underwhelming. The glass in the store was pretty and the glass garden was unique but it looked like it hasn't been maintained. read more

Everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The visitors center staff were warm and welcoming. They were eager to help me find what I was looking for. I thoroughly enjoyed walking upstairs to the observatory to see the guys blowing glass. That was a very cool experience. read more

Yesterday I went to the Blenko Festival of Glass and made a paperweight. It was so neat to see the skilled workers making glass and to help design and make my own piece. If you go you can take a tour and see some of the same things I did. There is a nice factory gift shop with first and second quality glass pieces. There are such lovely colors and many choices are very affordable. I give it a big thumbs up. read more

Just a heads up to those that are ordering. they do not give you the shipping amount at time of purchase as they say they can not compute it. I know of no other business that does not give you the shipping charge at the time of ordering. I can only assume they do not do this because of their high shipping charges. I was charged $18.33 for shipping an $89.00 item to Chicago. I only hope that for this amount they get it there without breakage. read more
