Boutique style hair salon with talented Colorists/ stylists. I decided to try out the salon after seeing gorgeous photos on their Instagram feeds. I reached out as instructed on IG and was able to secure an appointment with Lily (co-owner)a few weeks in advance - $50.00 non refundable deposit is required to secure an appointment and it is added towards the total cost at the end . The salon itself is very cute and luckily when I went it wasn't too busy there were only 2 clients being worked on. I was also really happy that right on the side of the salon there was plenty of street parking which isn't always the case in Coral Gables. When it was my turn to sit in the comfy black revolving chair , I got to talk to Lily about what I was trying to achieve I showed her inspo photos and she was totally cool with that. Overall I was happy with the final result (they dry and style your hair at the end and take photos in the beauty light area) The result was a few shades darker than what I had hoped for and even though it looked nice I can't say it's fully what I wanted, which kinda sucks especially when your are paying a good amount. That being said you can really tell they care about the little details , like adorable hot pink hair bleach foil , plush pillows in the waiting area and an all around lovely decor- Bleach & Blush makes the experience worthwhile. read more

I found Bleach and Blush on Instagram and was excited to have found a new salon I could potentially do all of my services with. I immediately reached out via text message (as instructed). I texted not only one, but two numbers for two stylists at the same salon. They responded to my initial message, asking for a photo of my hair and photos of what I'd like to have done. I responded with that info and then radio silence. I texted again, and nothing. I sent another message four days later. No response. I had given up already. An additional two days later, they finally replied... asking me the exact same thing (to send them a photo of my hair with what I want done). Ok... I was still looking for a stylist so I sent them the photos for a second time. They finally scheduled me to come in just to look at the health of my hair. Parking at this location is horrible. It's only street parking and when I went I spent 10 minutes trying to find an empty spot to park in. I finally found one, paid for the parking, and had to walk a couple of blocks to the salon. The salon itself is underwhelming and the receptionist was just O.K. I sat down to wait for the stylist. I was expecting to be offered water or anything while I waited, but nothing. I waited for a while despite having a scheduled time to come in (though I was 10 minutes late because of the parking situation). Overall service was careless. I did not get good vibes from this place. After two minutes of talking to the stylist, they found availability for an appointment and informed me they take a $50 deposit just to make the appointment. After all of the radio silence, parking inconvenience, waiting, and bad vibes, I decided to listen to my gut and didn't book the appointment. I didn't have any services done at this salon simply because of the lackluster experience I had with them beforehand. If they want new customers they need to be responsive and friendly. read more

Don't be fooled by the instagram following and cute photos. My original appointment was for 2 pm and a week before I was *told* to come in at 1. I did just that, and arrived at 1... I was surprised/annoyed when I had to wait for an hour to be attended to. All the while, my metered parking was ticking away. I was apt to let it go when I finally sat in the chair and the stylist was apologetic and warm. I described what I wanted to achieve, my previous hair mishaps, and therefore what I wanted to avoid - I even showed photos to make up for whatever my words could not describe. It seemed like we were on the same page. I asked for "dimensional brunette" and walked out feeling like Morticia Adams - my consolation was that it might lighten up after a few washes. I asked for layers starting from long bangs... I got long uneven chopped bangs and uneven and unblended layers. The layers look like botched stair steps. Right after the blow dry (that I paid extra for, thankfully, I guess) I noticed that my hair was cut unevenly. The stylist "corrected" it - too bad I found more uneven hairs once I got home. Not to mention the dye stains I had on my forehead once I left. If your hair style is not Instagram worthy it doesn't seem as if you're attention worthy either. You'll be rushed in and rushed out - while the girls with the cool colors will be doted on. Also: keep in mind if you pay a $50 deposit for your appointment make sure it gets applied to your services. Mine was not and I had to get a refund. It took a few days, and although they were nice about it, it was inconvenient (set up a PayPal & get the money transferred). Parking is only paid/metered street parking. The maximum is for two hours and you can only renew your parking after about a 15 minute wait period. I'm not sure about you, but I wasn't thrilled about risking getting a parking ticket, even though to them the ticket is "like super cheap" and usually nobody is monitoring it anyway. Especially since an hour of my parking time was eaten up by sitting and waiting. Just a peeve of mine and telling of business practices... There was one client in particular, who I guess was quite difficult, the roasting session began as soon as she stepped out of the salon. My overall experience was not professional at all. I've visited Bleach and Blush 4 times and I've left happy each time. All 4 times I've done my hair with Lily. I've texted to make an appointment and have received a response within hours and they've been able to accommodate me each time (I do book far in advanced though). Each time I walk in, they've all been very welcoming and offer you beverages and snacks. Lily is very down to earth and realistic when you show her what look you want to achieve. From the get-go she tells you if it's possible or not and what in the long run is the healthier route to take. If I have a million questions, she'll answer each one of them. She'll recommend products for you and she recommended a shampoo and conditioner that has legit saved my hair and brought it back to life-- TIGI Copyright! The salon is very cute and girly-- love the quotes on the mirrors. It's also kept clean. They have complimentary beverages and snacks. They don't have a parking lot but there is street parking and I've been able to find parking each time. Pricing is fair and products used are high end. I had a balayage done before (not with her) but I never did any touch ups, causing my hair to be yellow at the ends and dark at the top. Well, let the pics speak for itself, SHE FIXED EVERYTHING! I absolutely love all the ladies at bleach and blush. Everyone treats me so special and the atmosphere with the other clients is so friendly and relaxing. I always end up making new friends when I visit. On top of the good environment, the ladies provide excellent service and are very attentive. I get offered cookies, pretzels, popcorn, wine, coke, sprite, chocolate and coffee every time I go. I have difficult hair and somehow they always manage to make it look healthy, soft, shiny and bouncy by the end of my appointment. Highly recommend Lily to anyone looking for fun colors. She's sweet, caring and always ready to help me achieve my hair goals. However, all the girls are excellent! Ms. Lisandra does some really amazing work too and her appointments tend to be available sooner than Lily's if you're in a rush, I'm thinking of trying her next. 1)Appointment was made for 1pm. Jillian did not show up until 1:30pm saying sorry she was at an appointment. Sorry not my fault you were late because a $50 deposit was made to make sure the customer comes on time. 2) Had to pay street side parking which means everyone's time should be considered 3) Jillian had me there while dealing with other clients she had. Her client after me was made for 2:30pm. She had dealt with about 3 people while I was there and they left before me. 4) I know what I asked for is a process and I am not new to getting my hair colored. I was there from 1pm -6:30pm. Not acceptable. I have colored my hair drastic colors before and it takes no more than 3 hours 4 hours tops. At around 5pm while she was coloring another ladies hair I had to ask her when will I be leaving because I been here since 1pm and she said she will try her hardest but her process takes long. During my whole time there I was sooo livid . Tears came down my face about 4 times and I had to go to the bathroom so no one would see. Her assistant Valeria was very nice to me . She did get the color I wanted but I was sooooo nervous because while she was coloring another clients hair she is telling her assistant to mix the color for my hair and it sounded complicated so she had to tell her to write it down to make sure it was correct. Then I heard the assistant said one of the things she asked for was finished so then she had to use something else. I do not know why she did not just do it herself since I came first out of all her other clients having me wait. I would never go back there because of the experience I had. A suggestion I would give is don't book someone if you are not going to give them your full attention and have other appointments around the same time. I have been going to Lily for probably about 2 years now and 4-5 visits. Each time I have left happy. People are always complimenting my hair even months after it's been done. I used to dread getting my hair done because I hated the thought of sitting there for hours upon hours. Lily makes the time pass so quickly. She is so personable and down to earth and just a genuine good soul. The salon provides snacks and beverages for you to enjoy while you're there. There is street parking available and I've never had an issue finding a spot close to the salon. In my opinion, the prices are very fair especially for being in the Gables. Tried making an appointment & called the salon. The person who answered was not only rude, but unhelpful. Referred me to the stylists Instagram pages to get their numbers individually to text them there, because it's "easiest" So I text them asking for their Saturday availability, and receive the response "Unfortunately, everyone is booked :/" the next day. didn't provide me any other availability, or even tried to accommodate me. Extremely disappointed! :( I had visited Lily when she had her smaller salon and it was just her and another hair stylist and I got just what i wanted then. I decided to visit her once again a few weeks ago and I was extremely disappointed with not only her service but the result (although i tried to keep an open mind). This time though, I asked her to give me a Balayage that would go from my roots (dark brown) to a lighter brownish/blonde almost caramel. To make sure she understood what I wanted and to assure we were on the same page I even showed her pictures. She said she understood and she started bleaching my hair. Once this was done I waited while she attended another customer. But that was ALL she did. Her "assistant" (im not exactly sure what she is, she did miscellaneous things like sweeping the floor and washing hair) then took over and toned my hair twice, all while Lily handled other customers. Finally the assistant told me she would blow dry my hair and this is when i started to see how horrible the hair came out. It literally goes from dark brown to an abrupt burnt yellow with no gradient whatsoever. All the blonde is one color, again no gradient or natural-looking effect to be contrasted with the dark brown of my roots. It just looks like I dyed ALL my hair blonde and I let my roots grow out for two months. As the "assistant" was finishing drying and straightening my hair Lily finally realized that I existed and that she had let her assistant do all my hair she came to do finish the last part which was literally a few strands in the front. I was in the verge of tears but I just paid (almost $300), left, and busted into tears as soon as I walked out. If you want to pay a lot of money to get almost no attention from the stylist you wanted and no regards to your wishes, go ahead and visit them. This was definitely not worth it. read more
