Blau is a bit more expensive than some other companies, but I'm happy to pay the extra for the amazing service from very experienced technicians. Problems are diagnosed quickly and I like that I know upfront how much it will cost me. I have had plenty of shoddy service in the past and it's nice to know I can trust their work. I have been using them for years and have never had the same problem twice. I can't say that for other companies. I was using a different plumbing company for awhile from a referral and I was charged $260 for a problem they had "fixed" 3 months earlier. I went back to blau after that. I see someone was upset about them tagging all their pipes, etc. in their basement, but I love it. It helps me when I'm doing some DIY projects. read more

After speaking with the very unprofessional and asshole owner, the technician lied to the owner and said he did not offer a full refund, and humorously the technician degraded his own boss and owner while in my home. See attached fee sheet, I still have NO SINK, NO FAUCET at a charge of close to $5K. I can buy the same sink and faucet for less than half that. What a defective business practice these idiots run! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AND LOOK AT ALL THE REVIEWS, BAD BAD BAD ALL the way around! HOW is this company still in business using these deceptive practices! I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB, I cant wait to see how they react. read more

would NOT recommend Sudden Service Plumbing to anyone. The plumber came at night and told us everything was "perfect" and "good to go." He confidently said there were no more leaks and that we didn't need to worry about a thing. The very next morning? We wake up to water everywhere because a pipe was leaking again. Not a tiny drip. A full-on disaster. So much for "everything's fine." On top of that, we were charged an extra $80 for something he said was "urgent." Looking back, it feels like we got completely scammed. We paid for peace of mind and instead got a flooded floor. And to make it worse, our poor cat didn't survive the mess. That alone should tell you how bad the situation was. Between the false reassurance, the extra charges, and the damage caused overnight, this was easily the worst service experience we've ever had. Would not trust them again. read more

Over charges for simple job. 475 for sprayer. Took 10 minutes. Don't use them. Did not quote before job. Not friendly

Its a scam they know you wont pay the over charge price. So they can collect their 100$ truck fee. Company over charges. This company tried to charge double on a simple sewer cleaning. $880. When I refused they charge us $100. When I went back after I return from work. The guy left the clean out cap off . Cause more damage. And a bigger mess then was already present. Very unprofessional. Showed up 2 hours late, outside their 4 hours window that was given. When we scheduled. We have our sewer cleaned once a year for the last ten years. The charge is allways $440. I selected this company bc their ad on Google said cheapest around. My bad for believing in a Google ad.... read more

Please avoid if you value your privacy & peace of mind! We called for a clogged drain that needed to be snaked and were told of a $59 trip charge. Okay, fair enough. $529 later, our drain was working and they took a picture, telling us it was proof for their boss of completed work. Not two days later, the photo and pin appeared on their website saying they did service on our street. This was not discussed, we did NOT consent via our contract, verbal, or at any other point. While our drain is fixed, I don't appreciate being lied to about why the photo was being taken nor about our data being shared with a third party (RealWorks) given we never consented, nor is it covered in their privacy policy. read more

I called Blau Sudden Service on a Sunday and agreed to pay the $400 emergency trip charge. When Dave the technician arrived, he informed me that I needed a capacitor and it would be $125 for the part (Amazon sells this part for $20) plus another $525 for the installation ( which was a simple plug in 5 minute job. I reluctantly agreed because of the emergency situation. Dave wanted to run more diagnostics on the unit but I wouldn't allow it for fear of being ripped off even more. Dave left in a huff after taking my payment. The AC was working fine when Dave left, but quit cooling during that night. I called a reputable HVAC company the next day and was informed the freon connection was loose and leaking. I'm certainly not blaming Dave for this. I'm sure it was just a coincidence. My advice is to only use Blau as a last resort a and to be taken to the cleaners. read more

At the height of the flood emergency in Milwaukee county, Blau responded to my water heater issue and failed sump pump. I called for service at 4pm and Jeff was at my home at 9am the next morning. They were out the next day! He went over everything and showed me where the issues were! I'd definitely use them again!

Just purchased a home, new to area. Hot water tank had a leak, needed replaced but was still under warranty. Only needed removal and dispose old/install new service. Provided us with a few options each increasingly more expensive. The plumber also pointed out other areas unrelated to our issue that they could fix because they were not up to code. Multiple attempted to upsale by means of scare tactics. After seeing their price, we tried to get a better rate because if the price was good we would use them for future work and seasonal servicing on HVAC and Water heater. Most they would consider is removing the 79.99+tax truck charge. They told us the costs could not but reduced because it was for processing our warranty, disposal fees and filing for and obtaining permits. While trying to negotiate price, my wife was getting other quotes all for the exact same work. Quote 1 $600 would take 2 weeks Quote 2 $875 next day Quote 3 $1000 next day Blau $1866 same day additional add ons would have pushed upto around $3000 Do not use ever , read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS Outrageously High Prices Untrained, Incompetent Staff Shady, High-Pressure Sales Tactics This was the worst experience I've ever had with any service company. They demand full payment upfront but fail to deliver any results. The technician they sent was clueless about basic plumbing (toilets!) and had to call someone else for help--yet they still couldn't fix the issue or even diagnose the problem. To add insult to injury, they charged us despite accomplishing NOTHING. Who does that? When I called to discuss their failure, I was met with an absurd response: "We can come back out to recheck it, but it won't fix anything." Are you kidding me? This company is a complete scam. Save your money, your time, and your sanity--take your business elsewhere. read more

I want to preface this review that the technician who fixed our drain issue is not to blame. He is only following company policies. I was never given a cost estimate even though I asked at the time of booking (thru a 3rd party online service) nor when I was contacted by Blau that the technician was running late. Both reps said the charges would be discussed when the technician came onsite. When he arrived, and did a 10 minute overview of the situation, he asked me for my credit card and the bill was going to be $455 for the 1st hour, anything over that would be an additional $300 per hour. The $455 would be charged before any work would begin (he did give us a $25 senior citizen discount). If I did not accept the quote, I would be charged the $79 trip charge (which he also graciously waived later). He estimated the work might take 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The actual "work" was done in 15 minutes. The technician was onsite less than one hour. When I asked for an adjustment, he stated that I would need to contact the owner, who can only be reached by Email. After a second Email asking for a credit adjustment, I only heard back from the technician who, after discussing with the owner, said there would be no adjustment. Blau quotes high and charges that amount regardless if the work is finished in less time. I wish I had read these reviews ahead of time. read more

If I could selsct 0 stars, Blau is expensive! Blau was very responsive although the price was expensive for a simple shower faucet to be replaced. (800.00) While there, I asked tech to quote me installation of my dishwasher that happened to show up. The price was 1400.00 for an easy intall. I did it myself in an hour....for nothing. I will never use Blau again...they take complete advantage of people that do not want to do their own plumbing. Never again. I will stick with S & K. read more

Here's what you can likely expect for Blau Plumping. 1. You call. The man answering barely lets you get a word in edgewise regarding what the problem is but "guarantees" a fix on your issue. He informs you it will cost $79 for someone to show up. 2. Next, a very inexperienced plumber arrives, walks around your house looking really confused as you speak to them. The inexperienced plumber asks if you're interested in a diagnosis charging around $45 per quarter hour. You say yes. 4. The inexperience plumber calls a more experienced plumber who says the only option is to run a camera through the pipes and the charge is $800. The charge doesn't include ACTUALLY fixing the problem. 5. You decline the camera. The inexperienced plumber charges you $125 and leaves. 6. You call another plumber. read more

I had similar experience as many of the above unsatisfied customers with Blau Plumbing and Theo. Wish I had read these reviews first. Hopefully I will save someone else from having a bad experience. Did a lot of talking and later I found out that this was at a rate of $200 per hour in addition to $150 to come to my house. In the end he told me I had a leak under dishwasher which I already knew. He said he couldn't fix the leak because it was an appliance. Quoted me for a bunch of repairs I didn't need or want. Stuck his stickers on my basement appliances too! without asking. I would avoid this company. read more

recently interacted with the receptionist, Katie, regarding some issues with our commercial water heater. While I appreciate her assistance, I found the experience frustrating. Please be warned. Had a Blau plumber to come over for a dripping shower rain head. After 1 minute of observing it, the plumber solution would of involved $1800 labor quote, $800-$1500 for a new water fixture from on of their partnering companies and $3400 for a water softener instillation to resolve the issue in the future. We live in Milwaukee County and don't have hard water.. Something seemed off so I called the plumber back to question him and get more information and was pretty much hung up on. He called me back 10 minutes later to apologize and take $200 off.. I did some digging (10 minutes online with very little plumbing experience). Everything pointed to just change the water cartridge. Long story short.. $30 and 30 minutes of my time resolved the drip. Absolutely shocking experience. Hope people are better aware. read more

This company is a scam. They ask $100 for assessment and then ridicules price $800 for the valve change. So, they get $100 for a 10-minute drive to your home or $800 for a 20 minutes work. In any case it's a win for them, lose for you. I ended up paying $800 for mail shutoff valve change which took about 20 minutes which is $2,400 per hour labor! Stay away from this company. read more

Blau (Theo) installed a toilet for my mother. She did not inform her adult children. She is elderly with dimentia. Anyone can see this. Theo charged her $1,778 for the toilet. That is two months of her fixed income. He told her he needed to pull a permit. Her city does not require a permit. The toilet is now the most expensive item in the entire house. A company with some integrity would have seen the situation and informed her that there were other options out there. I had my toilet replaced last year, full service, and paid $600 for toilet and installation. This is really disappointing to see Blau take advantage of someone like this. Disgraceful. read more

Called Blau to snake a bathroom sink drain. $30 trip charge and $190 to snake the drain. Way too high. Of course they didn't tell me how much it would be to snake the drain, only the trip charge. Then instead of snaking through the sink drain they went through the bathtub drain. Wrecked the p-trap then charged me $60 for a new trap. again, way too high. Put together the p-trap for the tub and it leaked after he left. When he snaked through the sink he cleared in 5 minutes and didn't wreck anything. Buyer Beware: They do offer fast service but are very overpriced. I had a plumber propose a solution that wasn't even the problem, then use their hand to rip open a 4x4 hole in the ceiling (did not patch up ceiling), and fix a leaky pipe for $1,000. Strongly suggest getting other quotes. read more

Beware of the Blau Plumbing. They are nothing short of scam artists. We had a drain clog in our basement pipes that has been fixed a few times prior all within an hour or so. In this situation the plumber who showed up could not have been older than 21 years old. He started to snake the drain and four hours later the pipes were leaking profusely and the clog was still not fixed. The young plumber to his credit, did take the blame for the additional leaks. However, once he contacted his boss the story changed and his boss gave us an $1800 verbal estimate to fix it sight unseen. In addition, he blamed us for the problem and claimed his plumber had nothing to do with the leaks. The young plumber left without fixing the clog or the leaks he caused. We were forced to call another plumbing company to clean up Blau's mess. I would definitely stay away of Blau Plumbing!!! read more

Part # HH84AA021-----Caveat Emptor! Google this and you can buy it at multiple HVAC distributors and even on Amazon.com for under $100. I, on the other hand, was charged $520, plus $59.00 truck charge, plus $65.00 Qtr. hr in diagnostic fee. This is unreasonable and should be exploited. My total bill. $680. My 5 quotes received from Consolidated, Aarons, Rick Ogden HVAC, and others are all in the $200 range. As in the below blog, I will exhaust every cell in my body to exploit this. Blau charged my mother in law $199.00 to unplug a toilet. They would not give a price upfront except to say that there would be a trip charge of $39.00. They were on the job for 10 minutes and left a room saturated with fecal toilet water. They couldn't even pick up the rugs before they began work so they were soiled too. When they left they said "there was a little water on the floor" and that they "didn't have a rag to clean it up". When I contacted them about the mess they said it was wet when they arrived, a complete lie. I tried to unplug the mess the day before and the floor was dry. I did not flush so the toilet would not overflow creating a mess I did not want. That's why I called "professionals". Unethical, dishonest, rip off company. read more

Be informed. Blau came up in a search I did looking for pricing on hot water heaters. Once on their site I realized they provide a whole lot of HVAC and Plumbing services. I was looking for a quote on no less than 3 HVAC/plumbing jobs for a new house I'd purchased. I loved the fact that they had a live agent online at 8pm at night to help answer initial questions. I let them know I was not dealing with any emergency issues. The online rep was very eager to get my contact info and email before fully understanding what I needed. I was not ready to share. Later in the evening, after thinking it through, I decided to proceed with scheduling so I went to their online chat again. This time got a different person. It all seemed good and I shared contact info and details on what I specifically wanted quoted and the day/timing I was hoping for. The next morning I got a generic email sent to me stating that it costs $29 to get a tech to my door. And then $80/hr (billed in 15 min increments) And I should call them to schedule. I did call because I do not understand why I would pay them to quote my job (which included, new furnace/zoned heating, a new hot water heater, and running gas line for dryer and to convert a wood burning fireplace to gas). I was estimating the job would be $5,000-$10,000. There's no way I was paying them to quote my job. The phone rep (who didn't seem to appreciate the importance of nurturing the client relationship) was matter of fact about their policies and pricing - no exceptions. Wow. She finally agreed she could remove the truck charge if I hired them for the services. So, on to scheduling. Knowing they offer services into the evening hours I asked for a 5:00 pm appointment 3 days in advance. Nope, she couldn't do that. She could only offer the first available opening after 5:00pm on my date. So, let's get this straight, they are charging me to provide my quote for thousands of dollars of work I'm interested in doing and can't even commit to meeting me at a time that works for me. No way! I don't like to do business that way and I'll be finding another vendor. All I can say is ask a lot of questions before you sign on, as there is the potential to spend a lot of $$ before you ever get started. read more

I wish I could give a zero star rating. I was in a pinch when my sump pump went out, and I'm not very handy. At the time, I didn't know I was getting ripped off, but after talking to several plumbers who followed up with me today to see if I still needed service, I was made aware that I was taken advantage of. Please stay away from these people and don't get burned like I did. I honestly don't know how these people live with their conscience! Blau came out 5 times to unstop a kitchen sink. It was very expensive each time. We had a bad experience with another plumbing company (see my previous review) and decided to try Blau for our broken water heater and rotting furnace. James Blau came out and helped solve all our problems. He was professional and friendly and since I wasn't home at all helped my fiance understand everything he was doing. We no longer have out of date machines and crazy pipes everywhere. We have two top of the line units taking up less space and cleaner (and less) pipes. After almost a week of no water and a lot of frustration we are more than happy with the outcome. read more

I called Blau because my tenant was having water drain very slowly from our bathroom sink. Drano had been used on several occasions. Having replaced several other pipes in the home because they were old galvanized steel pipes that become clogged and need to be replaced, I suspected that was the case. Instead of sending a plumber to the home, they sent a "technician" to auger the sink, who called me to authorize a $175 charge. The J trap broke (probably due to the Drano) and they were unable to auger anything, but still charged me $175. They then called me and told me it would be an ADDITIONAL $222 to have a licensed plumber come out to change the J trap (NOTHING else included), which if you've ever owned a home, you probably know you can change it yourself in a matter of 5 minutes and a $7 trip to the hardware store. When I called their office to ask if they were nuts, they told me the "technician" is incapable of changing the J trap, and that they would not send out a plumber on the first call no matter what (they certainly could have made this a little more clear initially). Considering how the initial conversation was talking about a true plumbing issue, I feel pretty screwed by these guys. When I talked to their office about all of this and asked about having a plumber come out after I replace the J trap, they were very hesitant to give me any pricing. I believe Joanie is the manager I talked with, and she told me she was unfamiliar with a J trap and that she couldn't tell me how much anything would be to have anything done after I replaced the J trap. She finally spat out it would be $30 for every quarter of an hour for diagnostics, and a flat fee based on what was found. I don't find that out of line at all, but what I do find appalling is how they are essentially trying to charge me almost $400 to replace a J trap, with no resolve on the issue that I originally had called for. read more

Echo what all others have said about this ripoff joint. Had a leak in my shower and the guy comes and immediately says I need a massive tear out and rebuild of my shower. He quotes me a price of something ridiculous like $10,000 so I noticed when he was "diagnosing" my problem he turned on the shower and pointed it in the corner and then comes downstairs with me in the basement and says the water is "leaking like a sieve". So he leaves and I think to myself...why did he point it at that corner? So I get some silicone caulk and seal up that corner of the shower and wouldn't you know it, no leaks! So basically this dude knew what was up but wanted to do a tear out and rebuild of my entire shower and bend me over for $10k for what basically cost me $4 in caulk...all I can say is never trust these guys for your plumbing, because they will do whatever they can to rob you blind. read more
