I used to go see Dr. Dennis Johnson, and once he retired, switched to his son, Ryan. My most recent experience was a broken back molar--not fun. I broke it around 7pm on a Tuesday and Ryan had me fixed and on my way by 1pm the following day! I cannot tell you how thankful I am to have access to such caring, compassionate, and competent professionals. I also have some anxiety around dental cleanings due to visiting a different dentist while I was out of state. Upon learning this, the entire office went above and beyond to make me comfortable and ease my anxiety. Even now, they take precautions to make sure I know exactly what is happening and check to ensure I am okay. I also have to mention Barb, who is just as important as the doctors and hygienists. She has been a staple of the front office for as long as I can remember. She is kind and caring, giving every client her undivided attention. She doesn't know you as a number, she knows you by name. One time, I had an outstanding bill and, due to moving, I was not receiving the statements and was unaware of it. Instead of sending my account to a bill collector or simply sending more statements, she picked up the phone and found out what was wrong. She wanted to make sure I was alright. I was able to correct the situation immediately thanks to her willingness to go above and beyond. As you can probably tell, I adore Dental Associates of Lancaster. I cannot recommend them enough. They should, in my opinion, be the model for all dental offices.

I called 3 days in advance to set up an appointment. I showed up and I had to knock on the window in front of the receptionist to let me in. She finally came to the door and said "May I help you?". In an extremely, condescending, and disrespectful way. I came at the time of my appointment, obviously it was the 21 year old student showing up for the appointment. After being let in, I waited... and this is not an exaggeration, one hour, before someone showed me any acknowledgement. I got numbed, but I still felt everything, that was being done to my messed up tooth. The head dentist stopped the filling because she said that she didn't want to hurt me anymore. I respected that. BUT, from when I got into the office, to when I left, 30 minutes past. I told her that my tooth was extra sensitive to pressure and she told me while I was getting an extremely painful filling, that she DID NOT need to be doing what she was doing because my problem is definitely more severe. She did not tell me that. I contemplated walking out the second I saw the clown show of a business. I should have left when I wanted to. She didn't finish the filling to make the sides even flossable. She left me with bleeding gums and tooth shavings in my mouth without offering me a rinse. Then told me to go pay. I went back to my car and cried to my mom and she made me a new dentist appointment.

My experience absolutely went a lot better than how I initially imagined. I'm 25 and honestly, getting this procedure done made me soo nervous at first!! I was worried the worst was going to happen, or that maybe my healing was going to be super complicated, but everything went phenomenal!!! Dr. Cutright's team is super welcoming, and kind. They answered any questions that I had at any time, made sure that I was going to feel very comfortable about everything going on, and explained everything thoroughly which I appreciate very much!! They also asked if I wanted some ice cream to take home with me after the appointment, and gave me a list of flavors to pick from which was so freaking cool! They even let my husband come back there with me right before my procedure started, which was a big thing for me, helping me stay calm and comfortable. A bit after I got home, Dr. Cutright even gave us a call to make sure everything was going okay! He truly cares about his patients!!! This was something that I dreaded getting done for the longest time, and I appreciate them all a ton for doing everything they possibly could, and beyond, to help make my experience a lot less scary!! I absolutely recommend Dr. Cutright as an oral surgeon, him and his team are outstanding!
