great experience! biggest thing is just carving out the time as it can almost a few hours if it's busy :) Amira (instructor) was lovely and jumped in when needed and Sophie (student) did a lovely job! read more

I recently had a very disappointing experience regarding my appointment. The instructor was unusually dismissive and disorganized. When I showed up she questioned me as to whether I had actually booked an appointment which was clearly marked on her calendar. It took well over 15 minutes to finally sit in a chair. I've been to the school on a number of previous occasions and was always very well received and happy with the overall experience. This was a first time incident and the young woman who was apparently chief instructor, was unkind and unprofessional. I brought this up with the instructor who oversaw my haircut and she reacted negatively as well. That said, the students were helpful. So I have to say that this was a very bad day all around and I prefer to not return. read more

When I decided to study fashion in Canada, I was told some options, but I ended up choosing to do it at BMC and I am very happy to have made this choice, I already have a fashion education in Brazil, but taking the one-year course helped me a lot to retrain and improve technically, the teachers and staff are wonderful and I am grateful to all of them. After graduating, I was invited to join the team as an assistant teacher and also an introductory sewing instructor, BMC has become more than a school for me and I have no doubt it was my best choice. Blanche is your fast-pass to the fashion industry. I have always wanted to be in the fashion industry (like, since I was a young child). In 2010, I was choosing between Ryerson's and Blanche's Fashion Marketing programs and ultimately I went with Blanche because it was one year of accelerated learning as opposed to the regular four (and a girl's gotta pay the bills!). Blanche has instructors with massive amounts of experience and impressive resumes in the fashion industry-- And they teach things that you can actually use in your profession. Seriously! I still use my knowledge a decade after I've graduated. But the best thing is that Blanche sets you up with tons of inside fashion internships and jobs, even after you graduate. I was able to bulk up my resume with internships and jobs that I found through Blanche's exclusive job postings and connections. By the time I was in a leadership position for a multi-million dollar fashion company, I turned to Blanche to help me hire more staff because I knew I could trust their students. As an added perk, I met some of my best friends through the program and by meeting and working with other Blanche grads in all areas of the fashion industry. I am sure I wouldn't have had nearly as many experiences had I gone with another school. Years later I still have a great relationship with the staff, that's how much they care about their grads. Wish I could do it all again for the fun of it! read more

I want to tell you how I'm happy at my fashion class. Dear lovely LucyAnn has a amazing, friendly and very professional person that correct us carefully with patience, every student one by one . She care about everything and works hard with us. I learn a lot every class and I'm so glad to be a Blanche Macdonald's student. It's wonderful for me. Today I had a midterm exam , I feel so good and I want to say Blanche Macdonald's team I am grateful to all of you. read more

I had an excellent experience with Ricky D who was our barber and his instructor Holly. I was able to get a perfect scissor cut, fade and shave done all in on spot. I also got a hair cut for my son who is 5 years old. Ricky was able to give him a fade with his machines and in the past my son was scared to get a fade, however Rick's experience with kids, made my son feel comfortable and wanting to come back in the future as well. I would recommend my friends and family to Blanche Macdonald campus centre as their barbers and instructors really care about their clients. 10/10! read more

I cannot possibly say enough good things about Blanche MacDonald's students. I've been in a handful of times now and every single time I go in I get exponentially better service - which is hard to believe because everyone has been so amazing! Special shoutouts to Lindsay for my all over bleach out, Norika for my first BM haircut, and Katerina for my incredibly amazing balayage transformation! Another mention to Sam, who hasn't done my hair but has been there for all of my other ones and is really awesome to chat with too! I will never waste my time going to an outrageously priced salon again. The students here go above and beyond every time. Thanks to Jeff and Marcy (sp?) - two teachers that have been really awesome and encouraging toward their students both times that I've had my hair coloured. They certainly seem to know when to step in and when to watch from the sidelines to let their students flourish. Just all around amazing. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out! read more

Blanche Macdonald Centre Downtown Campus - Just had my hair balayaged by Katerina - she went above and beyond and I could not possibly be more happy with my results! - Cosmetology Schools Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I have been to the student salon for a trim & VERY basic haircut many times over the past 3 years, so I know it is variable the kind of result you get. The student I had 2 years ago was amazing! I left super happy, long layers, long hair. Took ~1.5 hours (max) This most recent visit, the student was VERY junior. She asked her instructor multiple times throughout the cut for guidance, which is fine but her uncertainty made me quite nervous. She barely washed my hair, it too her 20 minutes but there was no scrubbing. During the cut, she did not stop spontaneously trimming at my hair, it was getting shorter and shorter as she " evened it out " this was only for it ultimately to be left very choppy and uneven. No layers, but much longer at one side due to the errors and the sections she split into are also different lengths/ do not blend. The full haircut took 3 hours. All this is to say, be careful what your go in for and manage your expectations accordingly. And DO NOT go in with already short hair. I have long hair so I'm going to a professional salon tomorrow to fix the choppy mess. Oh well.. they all start somewhere! Hopefully it was a positive learning experience for her. Hair grows back :) read more

$10 for a shampoo, cut and style? Biatchy Trannie instructors versus pissy student cat fights?! Hell ya!!! Watching self-absorbed fashion addicts gossip and twirl their pretty, pretty hair? YES!!! Sign me up for all of it I say!!! I think there's enough characters here at the Blanche MacDonald Centre that they can start their own reality tv show. The good, the bad and the well-made up. -Campus/Salon: very modern , well maintained and bright -Service: Warm, friendly, except one of the instructors was a bit queen-bee-ish and seemed to instill fear/respect amongst her minions. -Drama: Fab! A few tears, choice words, and hair pulling ups the entertainment factor (JK: ) ) -Haircut: Fine, BUT took like almost 3 friggin hours!!! The student did a good job. It makes me appreciate the professional skills of my usual stylist!! Time is money, baby! -Price: On Wed: $10 for a shampoo/cut/blowdry, $12 otherwise. Thanks for the entertaining memories and nice haircut, BMC, but I don't think I will be back due to the time commitment.. read more

I just lost words to say... -Got the ugliest haircut ever. -Almost got burnt repeatedly by a blow dryer. -My ears hurting from the combing. -My hairs got tangled and pulled repeatedly. -Asked for little trim and thinning out but only got trim done and still took over 3 HRS. -Being asked (exactly the same question) three times on how I can have a straight hair without any blow drying.... I am an Asian, duh? and it was not a rhetorical question. She seriously either forgot that she had asked or did not listen to me. -Weird attitude from students and instructors. -Not worth talking long.... -Not worth saving money...just avoid this place. read more

I went to Blanche MacDonald with a girlfriend to get our hair styled before going out for the night. I was less than impressed with my finished hair but my friend loved hers. For $10 you can't really expect anything amazing. These are stylists in training after all. I wasn't firm enough about what I wanted and she did her own thing but at the end when they saw I wasn't happy they didn't charge me anything. My friend's said they liked my do so I'm not sure. I probably wouldn't get my hair cut their but for fun cheap styling I'd recommend them. There are no frills at Blanche MacDonald. They do not offer anything to drink - not even water - which should change because it took over two hours just to get our hair washed and styled. They also did not offer magazines right away but later remembered. Still it was fun to be in the midst of all these budding stylists. read more

Jennifer Aniston on Friends started airing in '94 so I just can't see how it's possible to screw up layers in the new millennium. Now, I *have* underestimated the skill set of the common stylist on a Julia-Roberts-Pretty-Woman perm back in the day but layers - it's been over a decade now. I'm probably going to loose all credibility by confessing that I've been doing Magic Cuts but I ended up at the Blanche MacDonald school after searching on yelp for a place that was open at 9am :) Compared to a $18 hair cut a magic cuts, I'd say this is a much better deal! Unlike Magic Cuts, they also shampoo and style your hair for $12! It did take a bit of time. My appointment was at 9:30 and I was out of there at 11:30 but I didn't mind, I went in there understanding that they are students. It's definitely not a pampered/salon environment. You're put in a room crammed with students working on mannequin hair on either side of you but I thought it was kinda interesting :) I felt like the students were well trained and unlike, Magic Cuts, they kinda like what they do! The process is to check with the instructor before and after the cut and then the instructor might do some touch ups so I felt like I left with a professional cut. I gave a good tip to the student after too because a haircut for that price is definitely a steal! read more

I went in for a haircut and asked for 2 inches off and long layers (my hair is quite long so I confirmed what I meant in a picture). I left with choppy and unblended layers with 3 inches between each layer. when it's in a pony tail, it looks like there's a stair step between the bottom of my hair and the short layer. It's awful. the problem Isn't necessarily the haircut, it's the fact that the student I went to barely asked for help and went free reign on chopping my layers to earlobe-length even though my hair went down to below my chest. The point with this review is just to say that these students need much more supervision than they're getting. read more

I am a blonde and upkeep is expensive, so I opt to go more frequently to beauty schools than intermittently get full price salon services. I've been doing so for the last few years and now having moved to Vancouver have visited Blanch Macdonald about 6 times. My advice would be to book for a service at the Q&A boutique location (460 Robson) as the students there seem to be a little further along than those at the older/campus location. My full head of highlights/full roots typically costs no more than $55 and they are happy to provide subsequent beauty services if you're not happy with the results (i.e. toner wash, additional lifting, etc). Can't speak to hair cuts, I've only ever had a trip. Also note that you should allocate extra time for student hairstylists. I've been stuck in a chair anywhere from just 2 hours to 5+. *I have twice had B.M. call me the morning of my appointment to let me know that the student did not show up. Since I work Monday to Friday 9-5 this can be disappointing because they will only give you an appointment on the next available Saturday, which means I had to wait an extra 1-2 weeks because someone didn't make it in! read more

Really had a great experience overall here. - I wanted something rather unique (grey highlights) but wasn't so good at explaining - They totally did it the way that I best explained it, using a picture - I realized that it wasn't what I wanted and it wouldn't darken up at all, and after a week they still still spent 3.5 hrs to totally redo it for me, no charge - I really love the vibe and the positive attitude from both students and instructors - I have not yet found another place that will spend 10 hours making my hair absolutely perfect for a grand total of $73 - Will be back. Every 3 weeks. read more

Save your time and money for a real Fashion Merchandising degree/ diploma elsewhere. For dedicating over $20,000 in school & living expenses and one full year to be in the most expensive city in Canada, it's pretty insulting. I felt I could've learned most of this course on YouTube. The only credible classes were Marketing and Business; as they were taught by someone with an actual teaching degree, and dedication to teaching. Rather than that of, "I've got opportunities elsewhere with better financial gain than working with 'fashion wannabes'." Pretentiousness and talking down too, seemed to be almost expected among the teachers to the students. Help was rarely offered, or even able to be found when asking and looking for so. I remember the only 'help' I saw was a piece of white paper with a list taped up by scotch tape on the bathroom wall, consisting of a list of suicide hotlines. Also best of luck finding any sort of job with a 'diploma' from here. It might as well be a basic night course taken 3 nights a week at Dressew on fabric patterns. Could go on, but have changed my career path as this one seemed to be a money pit on a yellow brick road to nowhere. Thanks Blanche MacDonald! I hope you know I tell people honestly of my experience and do not recommend it. read more

Since moving to BC five years ago, this is the only place I've gotten my hair cut. The staff are students, but they are learning and intent on giving great haircuts. I often let them do whatever they want to my hair - and some of them are taken aback by that approach, but some have excelled and did an awesome job. I've received some of my best haircuts from BM! Since they are learning, it takes a bit longer, so you need at least an hour (for a men's cut); but it's worth the time. read more

This school is one of the leading organizations that can teach you the right stuff into untapping those skills you knew you always had but needed the right push in the right direction with training and development as a person and artist to unleash that superstardom you knew was always within you. They have some amazing people in the industry that can help you with that. Once you're already enrolled all you need is that positive and "Can do" spirit and energy and just go for it. "Thanks for NOTHING!" - if there was a title that should be it. Booked an appointment for a full hair color 2 WEEKS in advance. The receptionist ask me how long my hair was, what service i wanted and if ive had my hair colored before. Was booked and confirmed on a weekend at 0930am and was told i should go to Q&A Hair Salon. I went and was 15 mins early, I went to the side door and a sign says they open at 10am although I have an appointment at 0930am. But I saw some ladies inside the building which attaches to Curlique. Good thing the door was open and I went in for my appointment. After I sat down the student ask me how i wanted my hairCUT done. I told her I booked for a full hair colour. She was confused and wanted to double check. She also told me that they are short on people and how people called in sick and are fully booked. The teacher spoke to me and she also seemed confused and gave me an explanation that for a hair colour it will take hours and another student repeated the same thing too how they are short on people. So the teacher told me they have to cancel my appointment. I asked them if theres another time but nope they dont. Asked if i can rebook then told me i have to go to their campus receptionist to book. Basically there was no option at all. I was already getting agitated and pissed to the point that i just wanna get out of there bec my time is wasted. I dont blame the teacher or the students that my appointment was messed up and how short they are and how booked they are, i understand that, you dont need to tell me twice. What i'm pissed is the incompetence of the receptionist or whoever booked me (a guy's voice for sure). I didnt even get an email or a reminder call for my appointment. MOST salons even a hair school will call in advance to remind you. Because it makes more sense if you remind a client so when they come in there is no confusion between the client and the stylist. Or if there's any screw up they can call the client BEFORE the appointment. You're not wasting the clients, teacher and students time figuring out what's going on. It was a big disappointment and a waste of my time, waking really early and driving from Richmond to downtown Vancouver and get NO SERVICE. read more

It was my first time there, and student stylist Sam did an awesome job! I found this experience very pleasant. First, we discussed and Sam drew a scheme of the desired haircut style from my words and pictures I showed her, so I could sit back and relax, I was sure that my stylist understood exactly what I wanted. Once in awhile she consulted with an instructor and the instructor checked her work, so I was aware what's going on now, I had chance to make some remarks or ask questions, it felt like I'm in control of the process, very nice feeling! To be honest, all my previous haircuts left me with the bitter aftertaste that it looks good but not exactly what I asked for... But not this time! I highly recommend this place! The service is great and it's hard to beat the price. Although be prepared to spend some extra time there, they are still learning and consultations with their instructor will take some time. For the time frame, It took for me 2.5 hours to get my haircut done including discussing what I want, washing, cutting, styling with a hair dryer (it's not an easy haircut, in professional salon, I spent 1.5 hour to get the same). While I was there, a man haircut was completed in an hour, and other student trimmed and curled lady's hair also in about an hour. I will definitely go there next time! Thanks Blanche Macdonald Center for great service and students! read more

I just wanted to get the word about about how amazing Blanche Macdonald school really is. The teachers are incredibly professional and helpful and their main goal is to set you up for success. I had some health issues last year and was unable to go back into school...the wonderful staff at blanche made it possible for me to come back to school and finish my program, they helped me every step of the way and told me exactly what Was needed for me to get back on track. It's no surprise that Blanche has produced some of the most incredible and talented individuals in the realm of fashion! So I went for my hair appointment yesterday that I had booked a week ago, I went all the way downtown & it was early cold & raining. The student was nice & friendly but often had to ask questions. I asked for a shampoo & blow out & add on hair treatment. Very simple right? They separated my hair in to 4 & started scraping my scalp..... I told him to stop & said I asked for a hair treatment like a deep conditioning. & the instructor gave me a look n said "it's the same thing " & I had caught her gave her student like I'm stupid kindda look & rolled her eyes... Umm I've had many hair treatments done before I think I know what I asked for. The student didn't even know the difference between scalp & conditioning treatment & after the teacher had known I caught her giving me the look she hid by the door and the student had to keep running there to ask questions, there next best solution was to wash my hair with "Joico conditioner".... I've had many treatments before but the reception told me they use Bumble & Bumble so I wanted to try it. So that's what I asked the student and the reply was they had run out 2 weeks ago.... Uhh I wish someone had told me so I didn't have to waste my time coming here. This was over all bad experience & a waste of time I would never go back there again & the instructor needs to improve her attitude. If she's like that to her client & student I wonder how the student will turn out grading from Blanche. read more

Reception here is incredibly rude and arrogant. I was originally here to request some info, but the entire thing was so unpleasant that I didn't even get to finish what I was there for. This is my first one star review. read more

I have been to student salons before and I have always left happy. Not this time. To sum up, I ended up with strands of orange hair after a 6.5 hours long "highlighting" experience. I arrived at 9 am with very well maintained hair and communicated to the instructor and the student that I wanted to go a bit lighter for the summer and did not want to see any shade of yellow in my hair. I left at 3:30 with wet hair and butchered hair. The student was very patient and I could tell she was trying to do her job. The instructor did not provide her with enough guidance and advice through the process that I believe resulted in the strands of orange hair. I am confident this student would have done an excellent job had she been provided with attention, guidance and help that she needed. Upon leaving half way through the student drying my hair because I was exhausted, and tired and hungry, I tried to communicate my frustration in a constructive way to the instructor. When I made an appointment I was told I would be done by noon. 3 hours is a reasonable time to expect of a student to take up to do highlights on a hair that is just below the shoulders length, but 6.5 hours is way too long. Had I requested a hair cut, I would have left at 6 pm.... Noone ever offered me a glass of water, or a magazine or asked me if I needed a break. The instructor rolled her eyes at me, told me that it takes an experienced stylist 3 hours to do highlights, and that 6.5 hours was reasonable for a student. I paid my bill, left a tip and left with wet orange hair. This salon clearly uses their customers as dummie dolls and really does not take ownership of any consequences their "teaching and learning" environment results in. I anticipate their response would be that they do color corrections if you are not happy with results. Another 6.5 hours flight in the dummie chair? I don't think so. I would never recommend anyone to go there. read more

I've been spoiled by having my haircuts provided free of charge by a hairdresser friend for the past couple years, but I have since moved away from his area and don't have access to his fabulous scissor-hands anymore. I am also someone who wants low maintenance hair - I don't want products or colours or shaved areas with leopard prints dyed into them... and I sure as heck don't want to pay someone $60 to cut my split ends off and give me a few layers. So, after asking friends if they knew somewhere I could get a decent cut without emptying my wallet I got a couple recommendations for Blanche MacDonald Centre. Yay! Chelsea B. rocked! She's a student, yes, she checks in with her instructor(often), yes, the haircut took 2 hours, yes... but it looks great, and she was a pleasure to chat with as she chopped a few inches off. I'd go back again for sure. Just be aware that you're going to spend almost double the time there as you would a regular salon, but if you're cool with that as well as saving a heck of a lot of money I recommend giving a Blanche MacDonald student a try. read more

Im being really honest here. i thought the students will be way more skilled than this. I was expecting senior students for an actual cut. However they are really the BEGINNERS. Shampoo - they only wash top half of your hair. Cut - Have to look at their paper many times and having trouble doing sections clip. My hair was way shorter than i expected as well. Time - it says 1.5hr for a cut on their website but my cut was not even finished after 1 hr and 45min. I had to go so the i structor finished it. The lady who sat beside me came earlier than me and didnt get finished until i left. They were really nice however unless you are really really desperate for money and have nothing to do, pay a little more and go somewhere else. read more

Completely upsetting is correct way to decribe my experience at Blanche Macdonald Hair School. I made appointments for me and my mom 4 weeks prior to the date. I have been a customer there for over 5 years and never cancelled/ no showed. I tip well as I understand that student can use some extea cash. Im low maintenance and dont complain if the service takes longer. Today me and my mom were on our way to the appointment. We left early to make sure we are on time. I received a phone call from Blanche letting me know my appointment is cancelled. I asked to keep my mom's appointment. We arrived on time. The instructors looked at us all surprised and informed us that the student is not here yet, would you like to come back in 1 hour. I stated that im upset with the experience we had today. The instructor's was that they are students and dont get paid for services. I will not be coming back to Blanche Q&A and dont recommend you book an appointment there either. They dont appreciate their cusmoers time. I understand its learning envirionment and service providers arent getting paid for it but I think Blanche can use better excuse then that. read more

Great haircut by the student (I believe her name was Linda) who did my hair last week! My service was done at the CurliQue location. It seems like the students there are towards the end of their program but the price was just as cheap as the other student location. This was my second time getting my haircut through their student services. Both cuts have been good but the most recent was very quick (wash, cut and dry/style) in an hour compared to the more novice student cut which took about 2.5 hours. My stylist did a better job on my long hair and honestly gave me a better cut than the stylist at the salon I regularly pay 60$ for. The bangs were well done and could tell she was confident about it which is not always the case with fringe cuts. I loved that my stylist was not afraid to discuss the quality of my hair and give me tips on products or brush types to use throughout. She did not come across as snotty at all, as some stylists can, and seemed like she genuinely wanted to share the information she herself is passionate about! Overall, great experience. The teachers walking around were also helpful and given that it is a classroom for students, every one around was really respectful that I was in the room and maintained a high standard of professionalism. Definitely going back! read more

I got my hair done in the fall and will go back again soon. The salon is basically a student workshop so my cut and highlights did take about 40 mins. longer than it would at a pro salon, but then I was happy with the result and the student (I don't recall her name) listened to what I wanted. The instructor had to check her work when finished and I liked how the instructor pointed out things for the student to improve on and complimented her too. read more

I came here a few weeks ago and had a girl named Mayra cut my hair. I can honestly say she did and AMAZING job, I seriously walked out of there with a better cut than I've got from some high end salons in the city. I will definitely be going back before she graduates. I wanted my layers redone and a bit of a trim, she did both but also gave me a few suggestions that gave my hair so much more dimension and texture. Sure, I my hair got pulled a time or two and at one point the blow dryer was a little hot on my head but they are students, they aren't going to be perfect, and for $15 I am okay with that! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the environment of the salon. Students sort of stand around talking to each other all over the place which doesn't give it a professional feel. Also when I walked in the teacher who was behind the reception desk didn't greet me at all, I stood there awkwardly until Mayra came up and introduced herself. Other than that I was really impressed! read more

You don't receive and help from the school. My daughter's Gass had 10 students. By the time my daughter dropped out 4 months later, there was 5 students left. They already combined her class with another and still only 5 left from 2 classes of 10. That's 20 students. 15 dropped it in the first 4 months. I cannot get them to reply to me about the 2199$ they claimed to have have paid her in a reimbursement for not finishing. She never got the money and we are out that money. And they won't respond. Please beware. It's all about money with this school. read more

I have been at this location 4 times, but the last time I was not a happy camper. I know the students do all the haircuts, highlights, etc. and it is their time to practice. I was there a month ago and had a student named Elena. She made a comment that she was a dentist and a good one, but suddenly she needed a change and decided to be a hairstylist. In other circumstances that would have been a successful change of career. Unfortunately for her, she should stick with her dentistry. She did all the paperwork for the haircut I chose, which was a simple one, but she started cutting my hair in a weird manner. The teacher had to intervene several times and give directions. He even showed her how to cut it, and as my hair was getting shorter on one side, the time was passing. I was there for more than 4 hours and ended up with a bad haircut, my right side one way, my left side longer and the back all strange, which she cut vertically ??? The next day I flew to Las Vegas with my husband and had to wear a cap most of the time, and hair gel at night time so it did not show. Here I am, with at least 4 to 6 months wait until my hair , especially the back, grows to a decent length and I can go to a professional and pay the money to get a good haircut. The teacher's words were: when it starts to grow funny, come see us again. I am sorry, that won't happen. I like helping the students, but I will not be able to do it for a long time. read more

I just had my hair done here by a student named Diana. I really like how it turned out! I told her that I wanted lots of volume, and she definitely delivered that. It ended up a little bit shorter than I was initially thinking, but I don't mind. It was a little awkward for a few minutes when the teacher was being very critical of the student's work, and the work was on my head, so I had to silently sit there and listen to it. But overall, I'm happy with how she did my hair! read more

This program is not good for part-time students.I went to the school because I believed that I would be getting cutting edge techniques, but the truth is they don't teach the things we need to learn out in the industry. I asked my teachers, Jeff and Zohra, on numerous occasions to outline the latest cuts and colors. Not only was I ignored by my instructors, but I was met with arrogance and dismissal. When I approached the director, Phil, about some of my concerns, he was too busy to speak to me. Without question, I saw favouritism happening all the time. What a frustrating experience. I am a successful business woman who owns her own salon, and I went to Blanche Macdonald to find out about the latest techniques so that I could pass that along to my customers, but all I was met with was minimal effort and poor quality instruction. Truly the worst experience I have ever had in school. I didn't receive any knowledge just frustration and anxiety from attending the school. On top of that at the grad ceremony it with the students who really just came fooled around and missed time that seemed to get the awards. I did not miss one day and was top of the class and all I received was aggravation. Think twice before you sign up for the school. I wasted both my time and my money at the school. read more

I have been getting my hair streaked (foils) for about 30 years. With the recent unwelcome addition of about 30% grey recently I have not been able to find anyone who has successfully blended blonde streaks with my grey. I had a consult (free) then had foils done. The stylist Heena Bains did an amazing job. She took the time to make sure the shade was right by asking me lots of questions. The shade she went with blended perfectly with the old blonde streaks and the new grey hair. The end result was perfect, and exactly what I was looking for. read more

5 STAR haircut and service from ELENA! I love the asymmetrical cut! She was energetic, professional, and fun to talk to. However, I cannot say the same for one of the instructors... I requested highlights but I knew it may not be possible since I had residual box dye. It wasn't a issue that I couldn't receive the hair colour service. The issue was how this instructor told me and the student TWICE that (word for word) "you can sit here all day and bleach your hair but you will never get the blonde you want, forget ash tones". The tone of her voice and the expressions on her face made me feel uncomfortable. She repeated it twice giving me the impression that she truely wanted me to feel stupid. I told her it's no problem I'll just get a haircut and get color correction elsewhere. I wanted an asymmetrical bob with one side longer than the other. She replied with "that is not even considered a haircut, it will make the stylist look like she messed up your hair. If you're going to have such a slight difference on each side you might as well get a bob". At this point she's crossing her arms and giving me a smirk. How did this person get her job? Although you may have great hair stylist skills, she has no people skills! I loved the second instructor with the blonde hair, she was cheery and professional. I would love to get another cut here because of the affordability and patience of the students, but if I encounter this woman again I rather cancel and rebook. read more
