Pretty cool place. I can only imagine how busy it gets on the weekends in the fall. I went on a Thursday. Got the farm melt which was super good and big chunks of chicken. My dad got the seasonal menu item chicken pot pie and said he could eat that every day!!!!

Got the pretzel appetizer and a flight. The Cinnamon Donut Stout is one of the best stout's I have had. The blue raspberry cider and Homestead Honey whine was also very good. Live music is a great touch. The queso is absolutely delicious as well.

The Blakes Tasting Room is always busy, but on this day it wasn't too bad so we stopped for a couple of appetizers. And it was good, staff was friendly and polite and the appetizers were good !

Have always gone to the orchard and events at Blake's, so we decided to try it for dinner. The drinks were delicious as always. The food was mediocre.

I love this place at the holidays- they have a fun & festive cocktail menu (a small one but very good offerings!) and of course the food- the giant pretzel is an IG dream! Reservations were long gone by the time we decided to head out so we took our chances at the bar and got lucky in a saturday afternoon The Santa Sangria was our fave- and of course, the cider flights Apple Pie was our favorite cider Skip the wine flight- we couldn't find a drinkable wine- it's not their forte- but tastes amazing in the sangria! Love the service and everyone in this place- so friendly!

TIP #1!! As soon as you get to the orchard, go in and put your name on the list in the Tasting Room. Then, go mosey around, snag some donuts, see the animals, whatever you fancy. The wait is at least over an hour (ours was 2 hours) and the only reason we got a seat is because I stalked the bar rail. Well worth it. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 230ish. Cider flights are the way to go since they feature items not sold in stores. Burger & fries were delicious. Bartenders and other staff were welcoming and nice. Made great recommendations and made sure my food was gluten free. Highly recommend!

Okay, so you don't come here for craft cocktails and haute cuisine. It's a restaurant(ish) attached to a touristy apple orchard with a petting farm. Once you've adjusted to those expectations, this place is pretty good! The huge outdoor patio is great in the summer, Blake's ridiculously large selection of flavored hard ciders is tasty (El Chavo continues to be my favorite), and the food is on the better end of bar food -- I had a burger and a GIGANTIC soft pretzel that was delicious (the beer cheese sauce was great). Service was slow, but whatever. I'm sitting outside on an 80-degree day, drinking a cold El Chavo and listening to farm animals make noises. Life is good.

Blake's is always a vibe, but the tasting room is great. You can get flights of ciders or house brews. They have rotating seasonal cider slush, cider cocktails, and sangria cocktails as well. The food? Delish. The pretzel is HUGE, but so with it. The cheese is the crown jewel dip. My husband and I opted to have the cheese curds for an appetizer, and loved them. Usually I get the truffle fries (also another must) and I get the orchard salad with chicken-- my favorite. This day I opted for the seasonal chicken flatbread and the seasonal strawberry salad. The homemade salad dressing really make the salad here! A must stop if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

I ate at the bar during a busy time and found the bartenders to be very quick and attentive! I'd definitely recommend sitting down here instead of just getting drinks next door the next time you're at Blakes. The flights offer 4oz pours for beers/ciders and 3oz pours for wines- and are only $2 per drink! You can get up to 6 drinks in your flight. This pricing is amazing!! They have a wide selection of Blake's hard ciders, about 5 different beers to try, and roughly 8 different wines on their menu - so you'll have lots of options. As for the food... I only ordered a soup so I can't make too many claims. I remember the menu seemed that for a meal you'd spend about $15-25 per person. This bowl of corn chowder was maybe $7 and while it wasn't enough for a meal it tasted incredible! TLDR: Very quick bar service with wide selection and cheap prices! Food pricing a little high for what it is, but kitchen staff are quick.

    Party Pretzel $25

Arrived at 11:15am with a group of 12 on a Monday. Was advised it'd be a 30 min wait. 90 minutes later we were seated. Pot pie was already sold out and food was served cold. The server kept drinks filled and delivered the party pretzels quickly. Will likely not dine here again in the future. The train ride to u pick was fun. Cider and donuts a must have.

    Build your own flight

I love coming to Blake's! There are so many different options and you can build your own flight. You have the choice of doing wine, beer, or ciders in your flight which is great if you are unsure of what you want. They have good food and if you are really hungry, the pretzel is the size of a pizza! The merch shop inside of the tasting room has plenty of ciders, cups, and cool clothing as well.

    Try this! You're welcome!

This review is more for the brunch than anything else. Although, I will say that we were here last week and the service was so bad we almost left. We were at the bar and not offered menus or anything. We had to get up and get menus that were left out as other customers left. We chose our drinks and looked over and discussed what we were going to order for food right in front of two bartenders. Finally someone took our drink orders and we had finished that drink before anyone even asked if we wanted to order food. We were about to leave when we were finally asked. Then the food took a ridiculously long time. And I ordered a burger and he ordered a club sandwich. Nothing that should take more than a few minutes to prepare. Anyway brunch. If you follow my reviews you know brunch is my absolute favorite thing ever. I'm definitely not a person who liked buffets though. But people race about this amazing brunch. Honestly. It was meh. There was some decent variety. But you only got the buffet. There were no omelet choices etc. I had assumed that you would get some choices. The food was decent. The ham was fatty. The chicken was good. The food was overall cold. I definitely would not recommend coming for brunch. I'm not sure what the fuss is about. The price wasn't bad. I think it's like $20 a person. But that with two cocktails and a bloody Mary plus tip came to $80. I didn't find any of it worth $80. And I'm one who is very willing to pay for quality.

Ask the Community - Blake's Tasting Room

    Is this kid friendly?

I have never taken kids but I have seen a lot of them there. So I would say yes. It is at the orchard and has tons of activities for kids.

Where is the line check on this, and does someone text you when you're tasting room seating is available?

Yes they take your number and text you when ready. You have 15 minutes to show up or you lose your place.

We got a party pretzel that easily fed the four of us and then we shared three flights to try most of their cider options.

Their pizza is yummy, and the vineyard vibe is charming. There are animals to pet, wide open views, and it's right on their property but designed in a way that still feels like a public space. I wanted to keep loving this place. I really did. But the energy has completely shifted. I've been here multiple times now, and every single experience with the owners has left me feeling tense and unwelcome. The final straw came after a couple of situations that made it clear this place is no longer what it used to be. One time, my son climbed onto a tractor that was left completely open. No signs. No fencing. And the keys were literally in the ignition. I was already walking over to get him down when the owner came out and screamed at me. No grace, no calm explanation, just full-volume yelling in front of everyone. I was mortified. It shook me up for the rest of the day. Another time, we were just a few minutes early and waiting by the entrance, not bothering anyone, just sitting in the car. Again, she came out yelling, like we had broken some rule by showing up early. And then, the husband. I watched him get belligerent with another guest. He was mocking him loudly and making a scene in front of other people. It was really uncomfortable to witness. No matter what the situation was, that is not how you treat paying customers. I don't know what happened here. Maybe as the place got more popular, the stress got to them. But somewhere along the way, they seem to have lost the heart for hospitality. I never write reviews like this, but I'm sharing it because this place has so much potential. It used to feel like a happy little secret. Now it just feels heavy. To the owners, I truly hope you hear this for what it is. You've built something beautiful. People want to come here and enjoy what you've created. But you cannot treat guests like this and expect them to keep coming back. I hope one day the warmth returns. I really do. But until that happens, I won't be back.

I get it, same longitude and wines should grow similar and all that jazz, but Michigan wines outside of the sweeter styles really never taste right to me. Well whatever they are doing here is nothing short of scientifically brilliant. Probably some of the best MItten Vino I have ever had and that assessement is from traveling all around the state and trying different areas. The Frontenac, Petite Pearl, Marquette were my favorites by far. But my five stars isn't for the wine, it's for the sheer joy this place brings me. Absolutely beautiful campus with sheep and goats and a big white furball of a dog who looks so adorable but is trained to kill any possible threat to his wards. The large barn event space and indoor seating is nothing short of gorgeous and of course sitting outside is just pure joy. I will add more pics as I come across them.

The tractor ride was fun. Since it is summer, I did not see anything to pick yet, but it looked like they will have a bunch for fruits and vegetables in the fall. There is a large area for the kids to have lunch, some of it was covered. I did not have a chance to check out the store, wine section, or anything outside the kid area. I did not try any cider, but we had cinnamon sugar donuts. I only had one bite and gave the rest to my child, but it was very delicious and fairly large. It tasted nice and fresh. I wonder if the donuts are this large in the fall. There was an outdoor concession stand. They sold drinks and treats, the turnovers looked delicious. My child got a cider/ blue raspberry slush, it was a very hot day so it was good they sold them. I liked that they had real bathrooms with running water. But I wish they had a better water filling station for the kids. They were getting very hot and the only places to fill their water was the bathroom sink or next to the animals and they were not excited about either of those options. Plus, the kids were very little, so they did not have money from home to buy cold waters. The people working here seemed nice and seemed to have experience with fieldtrips with little kids. I am not sure if I will come back and bring the rest of my family, but if I do, it would be on a weekend in the Fall to check out the rest of their offerings.

They also have a mixed drink menu that was quite extensive. The prices on those drinks were fairly good as well. They told us their espresso martini was the best in the area. I would tend to agree, probably the best in the area, but for me, not the best overall. To be honest we have been doing an espresso martini tasting tour around the US and there is a lot of competition, but it is definitely something to try here. I would try a rum drink personally next time, since their tropical drinks sounded delicious. The beer game in Michigan is also pretty stiff competition. We do live in a state where we have one of the top cities for beer world wide. But since they do offer about eight flavors, there is something for everybody here. This place is a really fun time to hang with friends and family.
