Apparently, they did not secure a hose well enough, and when it came loose, my engine's intake was filled with anti-freeze. I noticed that one of the workstations in the garage had an open Budweiser sitting out. Maybe that's why they couldn't clamp a hose down right? Adding insult to injury, the mechanic was rude to me in every interaction. It felt like he resented me before he ever even met me. I was paying with a credit card, so I had to go through this poorly lit and grungy room. While in there, the mechanic kept making statements that ended with, "You know how females are." So if you're a woman, you may want to go somewhere else. It seems like they'll peg you as a sucker.

I thank you for providing me the opportunity to briefly recount the pertinent events leading up to and on Saturday, August 9th 2014. After accepting a position with a new company in Louisville, my wife, two dogs and I left Bradenton, Florida on a mission to locate a new home in Kentucky within the course of the next week. We began our journey August 8th in the late evening with our Lexus SUV looking like the "Beverly Hillbillies" had hit the road once again. We were packed! While still traveling north in Florida, I noticed our fuel consumption to mileage ratio was continuously dropping; starting at about 21.8 and finally hitting a low around 15 mpg. We were both praying we could make to Louisville before something catastrophic happened. Well, the issues with the vehicle couldn't wait and with a nearly complete loss of power, we exited the highway and somehow some way (probably shear divine intervention) we limped our sputtering, coughing, backfiring vehicle into the Marietta Auto Center. Imagine our thoughts for a moment based on the many tales of out-of-towners across the country being at the mercy of unscrupulous repair shops. We were expecting the worst and ready to call AAA for a tow to one of their facilities which on a Saturday morning held the potential of a several days spent in Georgia. I walked into your office, meeting you for the first time, asking if you had any one that could read the codes on our Lexus. You greeted me with a smile (I saw dollars being eaten up in your pearly whites) and walked straight out to the car with your handheld computer, plugged it in and announced the system was registering eleven fault codes... More dollars in my mind... A series of sensors had failed and had to be replaced in Marietta, Georgia on a Saturday morning. We were stranded in an unfamiliar town and at the mercy of a shop of which we had no experience. Although I saw no other customers, there were cars everywhere and figured we would just have to wait in line before our repair could commence. It was about this point when I realized you had assessed our situation far beyond simply replacing sensors. You allowed my wife to bring our two dogs out of the heat into your waiting room and moved our car to the first of the line. The compassion you demonstrated will not soon be forgotten. Anthony started in immediately diagnosing various potential causes for the fault codes. Once identified the repair began. To save time, while he was removing sensors and such, you left the shop to pick up the required components, removing further delays waiting on a delivery driver to show up. Working in tandem like this potentially saved precious hours! Repairs complete and test drive passed, we were ready to get hit with the bill. The amount charged was extremely reasonable and we were thrilled! It's been about three weeks and 3000 miles since the repairs were made and the vehicle is running great! Thank you for a top notch quality repair performed quickly at a fair price! Mohammad and Anthony your kindness, compassion and honesty spoke volumes and I've retold this little tale to many others. The greatest compliment I can give is to recommend your facility to my niece who is moving to Marietta from Utah, next month. I cannot thank you enough. Best Regards, Mark S. Louisville, KY

I had to get my car fixed ASAP. I couldn't pass my emissions test and my tag was expired. My other mechanic thought it was my charcoal canister which is an expensive piece to replace. So I decided to get a second opinion. I went to Payless and explained the situation to Desmond the owner. He was able to diagnoses the problem. It was not the canister but two much less expensive parts. He quoted me a price that was half the other price including labor. They were also very fast. I dropped my car off at around 9:30am and it was done a little after 1:00. I really appreciated that he respected my time and didn't wait until the almost closing time to get my car done or let me know it was done. I was also surprised when I learned he did my new emissions test so I could get my new tag right away. I highly recommend Desmond and Payless Auto Repair quality work. I still like my other mechanic but now I'm happy to have two mechanics I can rely on who are professional and honest with their work.
