The burger I had was flavorless! No seasoning. What saved it was the fresh veggies!! The bun was cold which was weird...seemed to be a trend as I had the same at five star burgers. Lots of mustard which I like. The chilli cheese fries were pretty darn good! Again the chilli wasn't well seasoned. But, had enough chilli powder to make it flavorful. Overall the food was okay. The fries were home cut! Service was quick. Which I say slow down. Give that burger a better char! Restaurant is very small bar stool type seating. If this review was based just on the quality of the breakfast burrito, it would be a five but this was a pretty unpleasant place to have breakfast Blakes runs burrito ads all over the place on cable television, sometimes two in a row, and it did look pretty good so I figured I'd give it a try I showed up at 10:30 in the morning when it about 65° outside. Inside it was pushing 90 probably from the far side. They really could use some better ventilation for the customers and for the people who work there. Burritos are made fresh to order so there's a long wait involved. I put in my order and told the woman I'd wait outside and asked when I should come back - she said five minutes. I came back in five minutes and the burrito wasn't ready. One of the other customers waiting inside swore about me being there while other people were waiting, not that it makes any difference to ask if your order is ready, but there he was. The young woman behind the counter told me to come back in another five minutes, which I did still not ready. And the other guy repeated his psycho burrito buyer act, She told me to come back again and finally, I got my order. The jerk on the bench practically went ballistic. He was leaving as I was getting my order and we came within about a foot of each other. He started swearing. I really thought this could be a restaurant rage incident. The women at the counter seemed pretty uncomfortable with the whole situation . There's not really much that these girls could do about a big guy acting like a lunatic. Maybe they could make sure at least one of the people work in there looks like he could moonlight as a martial artist. We tried to place a order online but had a bit of difficulty trying to check out so we just stopped in and placed the order instead. My burger was perfect and transported to Arroyo Secco all stayed in perfect form. The bacon was perfectly cooked and thick slices as well all produce was crisp and not wilted. Looked like a food prop it was delicious as well as it was pretty. The place was freshly cleaned and all the tables were wiped down.The bathroom was also clean.I went to change my top and wash my hands and was very pleasantly surprised by this.Staff was polite and effective. Hate to say it but back home everyone goes on and on about how amazing Whataburger is but it's bad it's gone downhill unfortunately and has become lackluster over the past few years.. We were in Toas and had a craving for burgers. This is a convenient location and has a large parking lot since we drive a very large truck this is always a consideration. My husband had The Mexican Lota Burger and I just had the Lota Burger. They were excellent. Meals come with fries and drink. We both had a chocolate shake. I read the history of Blake's Lotaburger. I placed an order on their app to be picked up at the south side location. it took my order and charged my card. When I got there, they were closed. I got an employee's attention and all she said is "fuck you, we are closed" what a pleasant scam I read the police report in the Taos paper the following week. They had not one but two police reports listed about how they treated their customers. I got my money back by disputing the charge with the credit card company but never received an apology from the company. Avoid this company like the plague. I ordered a lotta burger...regular. It took 20 mins! People were getting there orders before me after ordering after me. One burger. They lost the receipt for my order and just saw me staring at them and never bother to ask what did I order. 4 staff in the food joint and wow were they slow. After eating the burger...it was nothing special especially after watching them thrown on the grill frozen beef patties. Overall: This joint specific has to work on their food delivery time since it is a fast food joint. As for the food...skip this place people. 10/05/19. The staff here seems to not be on their game, we placed our order of two itsa combos and one lota combo. We received our cups and went to the patio to enjoy the fall sun. We kept our eye on the person who ordered before us, so we knew when we would be next. Went to check a few minutes later, we were told it's not ready and they would announce the number. Back to the patio we went. After awhile we went back in, because no numbers have been announced, and they said our food has been ready for 10 minutes, we'll now it's all cold. We were hungry, so we kept the fries and onion rings while they were remaking the burgers. We decided to move inside, and wait, after about 15 minutes we went to check on our replacement, and they have had a change of staff and had no idea what we were talking about! WTF!! They had us write our order on a piece of paper, and gave it to the line cook. He did get in it right away, but the order wasn't correct! Figured it wasn't worth trying to get it corrected again. Decided to stop here for take out after another local burger place's phone line was busy for 10 minutes. It ended up being a happy accident. Though it didn't have an outstanding rating on Yelp, I decided to give this burger shack a go and ordered a burger with green chile and cheese, plus their seasoned fries. The lady that took my order was super kind, even took the time to compliment my jacket and chat with me a bit. The price was also right, in my opinion, and I actually saved about $6+ by ordering here versus my original burger choice, which I based off Yelp reviews. I waited a brief 8 minutes while my food was cooked to order, and WOW did it smell great in my car on the ride back to the place I am staying. When I arrived back at my room, I quickly devoured the fries. They were slightly thicker than shoestring and had a great, mildly spicy seasoning mix on them reminiscent of Five Guys' fry seasoning. The burger was tasty but not mind blowing. A little dry and thin, but the chiles gave it an extra boost of flavor to make it a successful takeout dinner. The meal itself would probably warrant three stars from me, however the kind lady that took my order and the nice guy that handed me the finished product bump this up a notch. This is my third time to Blakes. Every time I go the wait is horrible. This time, the cashier told me it would be 20 minutes before she took my order. She didn't tell anyone else that, just me. Then, she left. Apparently didn't tell anyone she was leaving because the cook was looking for her. It was my lunch hour. It took almost the full hour to order, wait and get my order. When I got back to my office, my bread was so hard I couldn't eat it. $11.00 and had to throw it away. No more money from me. When you can cook a burger faster than you can get served, it's time to keep driving. So what's so good about Blakes? I have yet to find out. They were out of Lotaburgers, so we ordered double party, cheese burgers - my husbands came out with a long hair in it, wrapped around on top... and mine was cold. We asked for his to be redone but I felt bad about asking them to remake mine. They apologized but it was done with a "no big deal" attitude. One lady waited 15 minutes for her two burgers and fries- (she was ahead of us). They put the bag aside and couldn't to find it. They finally remade her order and found the original burgers. My husbands burger took 10 minutes to remake, and they asked a few times what they were remaking. There were 6+ people on staff- one was on her cellphone, distracting some of the workers that were grilling. Anyway, very disappointed because we really love Blake's. read more
