For me, I usually prefer lighter strokes so I avoid male therapists or make sure to advise this - Marvin did an excellent job following my preference and checking in with me to make sure that I was well. Marvin's business is inside a very well-kept professional center, so you can go in the back entrance and it's super easy to find. Everything is in one office, so you'll complete your intake and the massage in the same room. The temperate, noisy level and ambience were all as expected and I did not have any problems with these items throughout. Bathrooms are located nearby for before or after the appointment. The only item that was slightly disappointing was regarding the time spent on particular areas. I seek massage for overuse due to sports officiating, and I've been getting massages for years so I know exactly where the time is best spent. I generally request that the massage therapist limit time on the upper back and skip stomach, neck, face, and arms. The only minor complaint I had was that we spent nearly 10+ minutes on the upper back. Seems minor, but for me it's a valuable 10 minutes that could have been spent on the lower body where I needed it. I know I mentioned on the intake form, but I also could have/should have mentioned it during the session. I'm usually minimal conflict, but I'm sure if I would have addressed it, Marvin would have fixed it. I have no doubt because everything else was wonderful and well taken care of. For that reason, I did not deduct any rating for this. It's a good lesson for others getting massages - it's your time. Make sure you are vocal about what you want and feel free to request corrections during the session if it's not meeting your expectations.

Normally I see Becca who does an amazing job however, this time I was scheduled with Tina. Prior to the massage, I explained my chronic back pain and preference of a deep tissue massage. She refused to give me a deep tissue massage and mentioned that I wouldn't even need to take my clothes off and we would be doing abdominal breathing as part of the massage... She was extremely hostile and not friendly like I have typically experience in the past. I would still recommend Theta however, I would not recommend Tina. I am a few months postpartum and was really looking forward to having relief from my chronic back pain and drove 40 minutes round-trip for nothing. Extremely disappointing.

This place by far was the least expensive of the places we found online - so much so that I was leery until I read through the reviews. Upon arrival, the ladies were very friendly, and while they do try to upsell you on lotions and essential oils, they weren't pushy about it. We were led to a pretty basic dimly lit room - no frills there - but the massage itself and the hot stones were great. $130 for a couples hour long massage just can't be beat, and I plan to treat myself (and the bf if he behaves) more often.
