Deft popped up and I decided to email Joshua. After a few emails, I came in Tuesday to book for a Thursday slot; the only slot they had open. I came in first thing Tuesday to book my appointment, and ran into Nicky at the desk. She was very helpful, and told me that she had a client due in at 11am that wasn't showing. 5 more minutes she said, and I could have that slot. Well I guess I didn't need to book for that Thursday. She basically took me on the spot. We drew up some designs, and I have to say she not only gave me a tattoo better than I could have ever come up with, but did a really good job. I have a few tattoos, done by several Detroit artists, and have to say; her work ranks right up there. As for that Thursday appoint; I plan on coming back if they can book me. Vince was my artist; we set up a phone…read moreconsult first (which I appreciated since I live two hours away) and then the ink appointment a couple months later. They're clearly in-demand, so be courteous and expect to book well in advance. I had a lot of nerves going into it but Vince and the rest of the staff were very supportive and excited for me. He was kind and talked me through the whole set-up process. We finalized artwork details together, deliberated about final placement until we were both happy, and I never felt rushed to make decisions. He was very patient with me and that helped to calm whatever nerves I had left. The inking process went much quicker than I anticipated, but even so he checked in on me periodically to make sure I was okay, was kind enough to share his process and the educational path to becoming a tattoo artist, and the conversation was easy. Aftercare instructions were simple and well explained. The entire space is comfortable, the music was eclectic and fun, and their bathroom is top-notch clean! I'm so happy with the artwork and the entire experience. Feedback from friends has been overwhelmingly positive: vibrant, crisp, excellent line work. I had a consultation scheduled and then that artist left so I was set up with a new incoming one…read more The new incoming one had a phone consultation in May with me and all went well. She said she would contact me when she moved to the area so we could get it scheduled. This was supposed to be the in beginning of July and I never heard a word after the phone consultation in May. Made me realize I'm just another number to this business and they don't care.
