I've spent 4200.00 at Blacks Tire in 4 months. 1st set of 4 drive tires did not have new stems even though I paid for them. All were missing the caps as well. Tires were not balanced even after I told them to balance them without beads. Next two steer tires were not balanced and I had to return 3 times only to find that there was a bad tire. They did replace them but as a business owner to have to lose 3 1/2 days resulted in loss of revenue. The 1st drive tires only lasted 14100 miles. I was told by the mgr, Kevin this is not what I should expect which I agreed. Knowing this he recommended a higher end and higher priced tire which I purchased on his recommendation. After they were put on I drove 35 minutes home only to see the stems were not replaced and not one tire was balanced. You would think that balancing tires would be a priority knowing that my last ones only lasted 14100 miles. Sad fact is Kevin agreed that unbalanced tires will wear faster. When I returned they balanced the tires and lucky me gave me a refund for two stems and the installation. So a whopping 290.00 off of a 1700 purchase. Pretty sure the fuel and last hours was much more than that. Now I know why the sales reps always are standoffish and Kevin is more worried about people showing up rather than doing their jobs. My SUV was experiencing some suspension noise off and on. The technician spent a considerable amount of time allowing me to try to reproduce the sound. I took my 2017 Infiniti in for the annual inspection. When I got there, it was about (20) minutes before they inspected my car. Now the bad. I was called to the front desk and informed that my tint didn't pass. I was dumbfounded as I've never had this come up once since I bought the car brand new. I even informed the dealer at the time to make the tint a shade or two lighter so that I would never have an issue. They informed me that my tint didn't let enough light; 29.2% to 32%. I told them it's never been an issue and said that they passed me at least once before. The service technician stated that maybe the person didn't know what they were doing to which I replied why did the 6 times I had it inspected before pass; he shrugged his shoulders and stated that he would pull my car out of the bay. I agreed and walked outside. He apologized again and I told him it made no sense that my car passed every year except now. Disclaimer: Tint laws used to require 35% light to pass thru, it's now 32%. He said he didn't make the laws, however, I truly feel that either the machine wasn't calibrated correctly or this guy didn't know what he was doing. I drove right to another shop and it promptly passed. The technician there stated that I was a few TENTHS of a percentage points off; not 29.2%, however, 31.2% to be exact. He stated that was so close that they wouldn't fail me. How can there be 2 percent different points from one place to another? Either way, I won't be going back to Black's and I wouldn't recommend them. read more

We had a Blow out as we were coming back from the beach. Luckily, when we pulled off of the road we happened to be at Black's Tire! They are Military Friendly and helped us with getting a new tire on. Also they had happened to be closed at the time. This happened hours after closing time. Their techs had all gone home. Only 2 managers were still in the building as they were wrapping up their long day. They went above and beyond. One of the managers said he would be able to do it himself. Dropped off my 1987 Ford F-150 on 8/13 for a miss fire. Called to see what was going on on 8/18. Was told on 8/18 that they hadn't gotten it in To look at it. Called on Saturday 8/21 they had still not gotten it in to look at. No one called me or told me at anytime that it was not going to be worked on. I came to pick it up on Saturday 8/21 to pick it up and take it to a mechanic that wants my business. When I came in I asked why in the hell my truck was in for a week, I got a half assed "we're sorry" and "We'r probably not the shop for you" tossed my key on the counter. Blacks tire in Monroe Nc is hands down the most stand up and helpful tire shop I've ever dealt with. I called them 9 minutes after they opened on Monday morning with a tall order to fill. We were in town for a race and went to leave Sunday only to find 3 out of 4 of the tires in my fifth wheel were de capping the thread was literally peeling off the tire. I made every call I could think of Sunday with no luck no one was either open it had access to 14 ply tires. Blacks in moorsville was my first call and was shot down with them telling me they had nothing heavier than a 10 ply. For some reason I decided to call the Monroe location and got in touch with Everett. Not only did he search to find me the best and safest option available today he set up a road service guy to pick up the tires at the warehouse and to come out to me at the campground to swap everything out and get us on the road. Dallas the road service guy was there by 10am with the new tires and by 11am we were ready to hit the road. My trans eagle tires were still under warranty and Kevin told me by Friday I should have the results of the warranty to know what is covered. All in all everyone involved at blacks tore in Monroe made the best of a bad situation and we are safely on our way home. 7-11-2017 called, spoke to Thomas, I asked him for a quote on an oil change of our 2015 Toyota Prius. He said it depends if it needs regular, semi synthetic or synthetic oil. I asked him to check as I wasn't sure. He checked and said semi synthetic, OW 5 20., cost $43.95. I asked if there are ANY other charges ad some people charge shop fees or disposal fees, he said, "we don't do that, just tax." He offered to schedule an appointment, I said I will call him back. About 30 minutes later, I called to schedule an appointment, a woman (didn't get her name) answered. I told her I want to set an appointment, she said, "let me get to the other phone so I can see the schedule." After waiting just over 14 minutes (as shown on my cell phone), she never came back on line. I hung up and called again, I asked for a manager, the gentleman I spoke with (Thomas) said he was the manager. I explained what just happened, he apologized and asked for her name (I didn't have it). He said he will take care of me and scheduled the appointment. 7-12-2017, my wife went for the oil change, when she came home, she said they charged a disposal fee and shop fees Thomas said no fees, just tax). I called back, spoke to Thomas, he credited my charge card for those amount. Thomas appears to be a great manager and nice gentleman. I wish that woman who put me on hold would have been counseled. Even though I didn't have her name, how many woman worked in that shop on that day and that time. Plus, they tell you their phones are recorded, they could have checked the recorder to see who she is. Again, thank you Thomas! read more

So it's beginning of the year and all my inspections, taxes, property taxes, tag fees are due or will be coming soon! So I bought groupons for couple of car inspections earlier this year. So I came here to get my first car inspected about fifteen minutes before their close time. I would have thought that they would say NO but they stil took me in. I told them up front that I have groupons and they said "sure give me the number" unlike other places which gives you a face. They pulled in my Lexus and I thought it would at least take them 30 mins so I was checking my messages, emails, fb and by the time I was done checking all, my car was ready and I was on my way out. I was like this is fast service :D So I came here again with my other car about a month later. This time it was in weekend and they had few people waiting in their waiting area so I figured it would take about an hour to finish up. Anyways, I told them about groupons and since I was here earlier, they were about to pull my information right up. They took my car in ten minutes after and I was done in thirty minutes. Black's is a great outfit. I bad a set of Cragar rims I needed mounted on a 96 Mustang GT. I went in on a Thursday and told the counter guy, Orlando, that I wanted a set of 245/45/17s. He said they only had Kelly's, which I wasn't wild about. I suggested Mickey Thompson's, which he told me would be pretty expensive and not really all that better quality. Given that I've run Federals on my other 2 Mustangs for years, i asked if he could get those. Orlando said he could get them by the next day. I told him to pull the trigger and I'd bring it back the next day. As promised, the tires were there and the tech, Cody went to work. To their credit, the rims were a royal PTA to install. First they wouldn't sit flush on the hub. Cody asked me if I was alright with him taking off some lockwashers off the hub. I told him to go for it, and then the rims sat flush to the hub. As soon as I wemt back to the lobby, Cody called me back into the shop to let me know the offset of the wheel was causing it to hit the brake caliper. Again, rather than leave me out in the cold, Orlando called one of their vendors and offered to get me wheel spacers so we could clear the calipers. He got back in about 30-45 minutes and Cody banged out the rest of the install. I can't begin to tell you how great these guys were. They could have easily gotten pissed and told me to kick rocks when a 30 minute install ended taking 4 hours, but they went above and beyond. I highly recommend them and wanted to shout out both Orlando and Cody for being so helpful. read more

I needed my car inspected so I brought it to this location because its really close to me. The first time I brought my car here the inspecters name was Ray and he told the guy at the front desk that he wasn't going to pass my inspection because I needed a new tire he said it was slick and then tryed to sell me an expensive tire, I declined and took my car else where and got a tire. I bought a groupon for the inspection last night and took my car back today and then the same guy, ray, failed my inspection again because he said my passenger side, trunk tail light had a crack in it, ( you could barley see it, it wasn't big at all!!) nothing had changed since the last time I brought it in, and he didn't mention it then but now its an issue, they said there is a "gray area" its really up to the inspector they have to see light pass through the crack or some nonsense for it to fail which he should have passed it with no problems .Every time I go here they claim something is wrong and try to sell me something expensive. The inspector works part time at o'reillys which is a conflict of interest because he trys to find things wrong with your car so you will go to his other job to buy it from them.This place is not worth going to they will try to rip you off every time. Do Not Go To this Place! It's funny I went to someone else for an inspection the same day and he had no problem passing my car. I will not be going back to blacks tire. read more

We went to pick up my suv which had some acceleration problems on Sat. We were able to drive it fine when we dropped it off, just had a little issue with it getting up hills. When we picked it up, we were not able to drive it more than 5 miles an hour. I immediatly turned around to return it to the shop and when I needed to stop it would not stop. This was on BUSY HWY 74. I was almost severly injured/killed by oncomming traffic. They never said anything about the vehicle not being drivable. When I went back in hysterical because of my near death experience they said they would take care of it. Today my Husband called them and they want to charge full price for an issue they made worse. We have spent over a $1000.00 on this same issue and they keep saying, oh no, now it's this...something completely different then what we fixed last time....a different issue completely.
