We have been to a few dog parks in the area, but this is one of the largest and cleanest. There are 2 separate areas, which I would assume would be for large dogs and the other for small dogs, however on the day we went the gate connecting the two was open. All the dogs intermingled and they seemed to do just fine. One stand out feature of this park is that volunteers leave giant jugs of water and several water dishes for the dogs. This is a nice gesture to ensure that our pups are hydrated especially on super hot summer days.

I have to say that our young pup had a complete BLAST, so it definitely was worth the hour drive for our visit. The doggy playground is a pretty large space that has various obstacle courses apparatuses that dogs can attempt to conquer while playing with other dogs. I really appreciated that Snouts & Stouts' layout was pretty well organized. I thought the rules for both humans and dogs were pretty fair. Also, we really appreciated the speed in which our dog's vaccination records were verified. We managed to email our dog's vet records and have them confirmed within an hour of our first visit. Unlike most regular dog parks, Snouts & Stouts had a couple of folks (aka "rufferees") to ensure that everyone was having a good time. I loved the idea of the rufferees because it is a great way to have an unbiased person regulate the playground. As one might suspect, some owners can be super-sensitive or super-lax regarding their dog's behaviors and interactions with other dogs and humans. The playground has a separate place from the play ground where humans and dogs can consume their food. However, folks are permitted to consume beverages in the main playing area. The bar had an extensive variety of fun beverages for both humans and dogs. I thought the beers and cocktails were reasonable priced considering the area. Unfortunately, the chef was unavailable during our visit so we could not try any of the human food. A minor issue for me because I was STARVING. Fortunately for my appetitive, Snouts and Stouts had plenty of beers (particularly IPAs) that I could choose from. In general, I thought the playground was pretty clean and well-maintained. While the area was not super clean, it defiantly was 100% cleaner than any outdoor dog park. During our visit, I did notice that there was a mop bucket with soapy water near the dogs' water stations. While the mop bucket wasn't a huge deal, I thought it was a little strange that it was in that location considering a dog or two could have access to the soapy water. Perhaps, this was a minor oversight by the staff. I thought the price of entry (10 bucks for a day pass) was extremely generous. Also, if you purchase $40 worth of food and drinks (as of July 2025), you'll receive a free day pass for your next visit. Looking forward to making Snouts and Stouts a nice treat for our dog...as well as ourselves.

I was under the impression that there was a dog park within the park. However, it's more of a park that allows dogs off leash instead of a a fenced in dog park, which is great. Perhaps, receiving this "misinformation" was my fault because i did not specify that I was interested in a fenced in dog park. However, I believe there is a fenced-in dog run a few blocks away from Founders Park.

This is the closest public dog park to my condo community (I live right next to the Huntington…read moremetro) so I come here all the time with my corgi! He loves this place and has made many doggy friends. The City has made some updates to the park in the last two years - I noticed that they cut down most of the trees so there are no plant overgrowth issues, and I believe the water fountains work properly now. I think they are still doing some construction as last time I went I noticed some construction fencing around the boundaries of the park. Do note that the fountains are turned off in the winter to prevent the pipes from bursting, so bring your own water in the colder months. I've used the stainless steel bowls lying around the park for my dog to drink from, and he hasn't shown any ill effects so far. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are two fenced areas - one with a gravel-filled "play box" that's probably meant for small dogs and a very large grassy/dirt area that's likely meant for large dogs. I don't believe there is any signage clearly indicating that one side is meant for small dogs and one is for large dogs (my corgi is in between so we switch depending on what dogs are in each enclosure anyways), but owners typically adhere to this assumption depending on what dogs are at the park (i.e. if there are no small dogs in the park, some big dog owners with shy or reactive dogs will use the smaller enclosure). There are several benches and trash cans located in both enclosures, but no complimentary poop bags (as in Shirlington Dog Park). This dog park is located right next to a railroad track and there are VERY LOUD noises when the trains go by every 15 minutes or so. Do not bring your dog here if he/she is afraid of loud noises! There are parking meters here and a decent amount of parking, but I've never actually paid the meters when I come (even when I've been here for 2+ hours). Other park patrons have also remarked that they've never paid the meters while parking. Utilize this advice at your own risk! There's also a fenced tennis court next to this dog park, should you want to play tennis! I've also seen people occasionally bring their unvaccinated puppies to the tennis court (when it's empty) so that the pups can become more comfortable around large numbers of dogs without a high risk of disease exposure.

Also note that there is another Huntley Meadow Park at the junction of S. Kings Hwy and Telegraph Rd. This park has wide hardball paved paths that ends at the edge of the lake.

For the rest of the year, it's a gorgeous shaded area that stays a lot cooler than the surrounding neighborhoods. There are park benches and picnic tables. Though nestled between lots of homes, the park is quiet and a great place to escape. It's dog friendly and there's even an area where dogs are permitted off leash.

I just take my dogs there and they enjoy running around the trails and walking the riverbed. There isn't much water to play in and the trails aren't that long, but it's a nice place to get away from the more populated dog parks, i.e. Shirlington. The trees keep the place cool and there are some nice hills and long stretches of area to play fetch if you are lucky enough to have a dog that retrieves balls, unlike mine.
