Blackburn Post Office is quite a nice post office and a decent resource to have in Blackburn centre, just outside Blackburn's The Mall and opposite Morrison's.
This is actually located in a newsagents, and it is a small part of the newsagents which contains around two or three counters. It does do most of the typical stuff you would expect from a post office and does sell envelopes etc which still seem pretty expensive despite not being the typical Post Office ones, but that is mainly coming from what I'm used to paying which is around £9-£10 for 100 Size D/C5 padded envelopes on Amazon, overall the prices were slightly higher than what you would expect normally, it would cost about 80p or so for an envelope as I recall, where three near enough exactly the same could cost £1 at Tesco, or the same for £1.50 at Sainsbury's.
The staff member who served me didn't seem too friendly, they seemed computer-like and a little impersonal, I did have to go back twice as I did originally forget a parcel, she still didn't seem too friendly sadly. Neither staff member who was working did.
This store is quite useful as it is open between 9am and 5:30pm between Monday and Saturday, which are typical opening hours for local post offices and ones located in large city centers such as Manchester, so it is just average, typical but visiting later on, on a Saturday was useful for this still to be open as certain branches like my local store in Middleton centre wouldn't be.
It is pretty much a typical post office apart from it being a regular newsagents and the post office being inside it, the only good things are mainly the extended opening hours on Saturday and location so I feel it has managed to do enough for two stars. read more
