Rochdale's post office is located in an old building in the city centre, it is quite a small post…read moreoffice hence the typical look and layout is not the same. The store its-self, being an old building has not had maintenance for the standard Post Office look, in a way, it looks off-putting, old and not very nice inside, with not really any modern features, as even electronic posting machines, which can be seen in Oldham and Manchester, are not here. The desks, seem to have good room to insert large parcels, but do not seem safe, as unlike in post post offices, such as Middleton, they is no glass barrier, covering the staff. This Post Office also seems under equipped, as well as selling only a small amount of stationary tucked into the far corner, which doesn't make it look good quality or like something you would want to buy, as well as only 1 scale for every 2 desks, and quite a confusing queue, with counter and travel services mixed in. Waiting here can be a little bit longer here, due to how queuing is dealt with, and also considering the factors that this is an old-fashioned post office and the situation with counter and travel services being mixed in, as well as only few tills running at a time. As well as not following traditional post office layout, it also seems not to have things you would see in a traditional post office, such as certain stationary items, and the range is very poor, compared to in Middleton for example, when envelopes and other items including passport holders, bubble wrap are stocked all around the queues, meanwhile as I said, just a small range is tucked into a far corner here, and I would even say smaller "local" post office stores are nicer and better to visit than this on. I don't feel this post office deserves a single star, as it is convenient in its' Rochdale central location, for someone who needs to post something while in the city centre, but I still feel a lot of renovation is needed, which could include possibly moving buildings (If this "old" building is a listed building, they is not much they can do", however for now I feel this place only deserves 2 stars.
