There was a customized champagne flute, a customized birthday welcome sign on an easel, fresh flowers, balloons, the colors and decor were honestly all on point!!! We were even able to come up with a chef inspired menu to hit the notes of our food favorites and Dave even has menu customized and laminated for the event. The crewmembers were some of the nicest top-notch service personnel we've ever met. We were even able to come up with a drink menu and they were bartenders on deck too! From the moment you board and are greeted by the crew, you know you're in good hands. The safety instructions are thorough, and the crew immediately puts you at ease before setting off. Whether you have a clear night or a little fog (like tonight), the skies are beautiful, the Golden Gate Bridge is magical, and San Francisco twinkles in the distance. The crew meets your every need with kindness, excellent service, and genuine interest in you as a passenger. They're also an interesting bunch--just ask them about themselves! Hot (chocolate!) and cold beverages are available for purchase, including adult beverages. For out of towners...Wear and bring layers. After seeing the great reviews on both Yelp and Getmyboat, I contacted Jan two week in advance to…read morebook a 4-hour sail for Saturday 2/6 to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Jan was very quick to reply, graciously answered all of my questions before booking, and remained in great communication throughout the entire process leading up to the date. Even when I had last minute changes of adding an additional person and pushing back the reservation time, Jan was very flexible and happy to accommodate. Prior to booking, I had seen a couple photos on Jan's website as well as photos posted by other reviewers, however, reality far exceeded my expectations. The catamaran is very roomy, plenty of space for our group of 6. Moreover, you can tell Jan keeps his catamaran well maintained--very clean! Upon realizing we were celebrating a birthday (I hadn't disclosed the purpose of this trip in our previously conversations), Jan was kind enough to gift us a ceramic bowl he had made (ceramics is his side hobby)! We took off from a dock in Richmond and brought the catamaran around Angel Island towards the Golden Gate Bridge, where we stopped and set up the sails until it was time to go back. Throughout the entire trip, Jan gave us our privacy--occasionally pointing out interesting sights on the water or along the coast. We spent half our time eating around the table, which has a roof and is opened to the outside, and half our time on the trampolines in the front of the boat. Although a bit chilly, since we went in the winter, being outside and sailing on water felt peaceful and serene! As someone that is gets carsick easily, I was apprehensive about seasickness, but the entire ride felt very smooth. Jan even pointed out the big waves beforehand so I felt prepared for any rocky motion. Moreover, none of the food/drinks we brought ever got close to spilling or sliding over the table since catamarans are so steady. Overall we all had an amazing time, and I would highly recommend sailing with Jan!

I wanted to share the experience I had with Diamond Sportfishing and Captain Kyle! WOW! We…read moregathered at the dock super early and although we thought it was early, Captain Kyle was up and at'm ready to fish! He said we were in for an adventure. The great thing about DSF is that they provide all the gear necessary for your catch. We were going out for Tuna as Bluefin are now found in the waters off the west coast, we were all pretty excited to go fishing. All we brought with us was food and drinks, having everything else included was a bonus. In the event we caught anything, they'll cut, clean, gill and give us fillets. The boat ride was awesome, no one got seasick thank goodness, there's ample seating inside and out. It was super foggy in the early morning, but cleared up by the time we started. I've not been on a fishing boat prior to this trip, and I was blown away at how scenic and beautiful the water was out there. The bright sunshine gave the water a super bright blue appearance, it was cool. Captain Kyle and his deckhand got everyone rigged up and ready to fish. The Captain is youthful and took his time answering questions and giving advice. His mixture of humor and knowledge of where the fish were was certainly a bonus because as soon as lines were in the water we heard, " Fish On!" That first Tuna took everyone on board including my son Parker to reel it in ( Posted Picture). What a freaking rush. It was exciting watching as everyone reeled something in on the boat. We laughed, joked and had such a fun day out on the water with friends. On our way back in to harbor the Captain pointed out several whale pods swimming around the boat, it was a trip seeing them jump. We enjoyed our lunch and talked about who caught the biggest tuna. In all honesty, that first one was the biggest in my book. I can't say enough great things about Captain Kyle and his Diamond Sport Fishing. Reservations were easy as charters go out practically daily either 1/2 or full days. The waters off of California are changing, getting warmer, they're seeing Bluefin Tuna and Marlin so who knows, maybe our next trip we'll catch something epic! Overall Impression: A+

Our friends(Lisa and Brian) invited us to join them on Great Expectations); a Sailing trip to watch The Blue Angels take flight over the Bay Area! Literally enjoyed the: blue skies, the company of sailing boats on the water, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and excellent company! Captain Brian-kept us moving along with comfort. We spent the day-Looking Up in the sky at the stunning planes especially --- the U.S. Navy Blue Angels! Loved the experience and welcoming vibe of this club. This beautiful Yacht club is located in Brickyard Cove. RYC 's location and facilities make it a premier venue for a great variety of yachting activities. The club's location offers almost immediate access to the Bay and is ideal for both racing and pleasure sailing in boats large and small. Everyone we met was over the top friendly and welcoming-but I also think Lisa and Brian know everyone. The members club house is also fully stocked with snacks, just donate whatever money you can. The bathrooms are clean and there's also coin operated washers and dryers for use if you plan to stay overnight. I'm impressed! The staff are also really friendly and always willing to help educate you on the high seas.
