Holy Shit YEEEESSSSSSSSS. Tony killed it! I really don't think I need to say anything more...just look at the before and after pictures. Regarding COVID19, the staff takes amazing precautions to protect themselves and the clients. Tony wore a mask and gloves the entire appointment. All of the equipment was sanitized and clean, their was more than enough distance between clients. I have never been to a barber as clean as this one. read more

Owner is unprofessional. On his phone constantly during service and doesn't even acknowledge you as he sits in the waiting area, finishing what may be more important than the client he sends to his chair to wait. Does not know how to use shears and botched the top of my boyfriend's hair time after time. He definitely needs to keep training and growing in the field. Seems like he got lazy in technique and ego got a bit too big. No skills with styling other than globs of gel thrown on top of the head. Never could go anywhere after appointment before going home to wash it out to attempt to style the botched haircut on top. Loyalty got our money for far too long! Better skill set at The Shave Parlor down the road. The owner there seems to stay up to date on skill set and way more professional and definitely more sanitary! Feels good to feel appreciated and greeted professionally as soon as you walk in. What a breath of fresh air to get away from the repeated disappointment from this lazy owner at Blackbeard. i've never been one to complain or to be picky, so when i say this it truly means something. i've been to countless of barbershops and every single of them had met my expectations. Blackbeard Company DID NOT meet those expectations! i got recommended this spot and i will say, never will i ever recommend this place to anyone. For one, they are in an area where it is small & cramped, barely can see them. for two, when i walked in i immediately got a vibe that i wasn't welcomed, no one greeted me which i find so unprofessional. i proceeded to wait in the waiting area. i waited approximately 20 minutes before being asked 'do i have an appointment or am i a walk in' which again i find very unprofessional especially since about 3 of the barbers were sitting in their chairs on their phone. one of the barbers that i did catch the name of 'devin' was asked to take me in but devin's response was 'nah im going home' since devin's response was that, another barber was asked but again declined. i did end up with a guy named 'luche'. when i got to luche's station it was very cluttered and filthy, luche had a white clipper that i thought was marbled but really just had clumps of hair on it because of no sanitation or cleaning them. i can tell he had an attitude because he was the one who had to do my cut, didn't have no conversation with me to where i felt awkward. was very rough with my head & i did end up getting bumps in the back of my head. overall this place is dirty, no manners, and very unprofessional. i question if anyone is licensed there not one person had their license up. stay away from this place! read more

The Best of The Best!!! Went here to have my nails done and OMG, the talent that went into my nail designs blew my mind! My husband even said it was the best he's ever seen my nails done. It's such a cute shop as well, the barber shop in in front so you can hear the charming banter of the eclectic group of men! Being new to the area, we were struggling to find a good barber shop. We tried several local options and were so disappointed by how unfriendly or unwelcoming some of them were, then we found Blackbeard. It was the shop's opening day and we walked in after finding them by chance as we drove by. We are so glad we did! Yoshi is a great guy and an even better barber. He really made us feel welcome and we have been going back to him ever since. The cuts are super consistent and Yoshi is efficient with his time. He is patient with our kids and he is so accommodating. Recently I called him because I had a few minutes to squeeze a cut in. I didn't know he was off that day, and he didn't let on either. He asked what time I planned to be at the shop and then met me there. That is amazing service in my book. If you need a barber who knows his stuff and is happy to be a barber, give Blackbeard a shot. read more

I am in a unique position here as I have unusual habits concerning haircuts. For the past several years I have taken to growing my hair out, as you can see in my ridiculous pic, at the start of fall, keeping it longer throughout the winter, only to chop it all off and start all over again in the Spring. For my annual follicle reset this year, I went with Blackbeard Co. simply because, after a bit of research, they were the closest coiffures with the best website ;) I highly value, see, a business that allows me to limit human interaction as much as possible especially when it's patronage makes that unavoidable. Anyway, I made an appointment early on a Monday, as soon as they opened actually, and requested Luche, figuring if anyone on staff was most apt to make a good first impression on a new potential client it'd be the owner. When I arrived, (three minutes late) I was surprised to see there were not only already three barbers on staff, but two were already working on their respective customers. This was a good sign! When Luche greeted me, I got the feeling, taking one look at my long, unkept, wavy, past-the-shoulders locks, he was taken aback by what I went going in figuring he'd consider a challenge. We shook hands, I sat down, then requested the James Dean, the David Lynch, the Morrissey: the classic yet modern pompadour. I wanted it short on the sides with more length than is usual for the style and he seemed to know exactly what I meant. He asked if he could put his "personal touch" on it which I was all for; after all, there's a reason I went to an artist with his own business rather than Supercuts. His method was lackadaisical, somewhat low-energy, though some might say laid back. He lazily ran his electric razor around my head, never once turned me toward the mirror nor allowing me to see what he had done to the back once the length was removed. All this was deeply concerning to me! I didn't see a lot of focus and didn't feel the "deft hand" or any intensity of an artist at work! It seemed like he wasn't taking this as seriously as other barbers I'd been to and I was nervous about what the result would be. However! Once the reverse cape came off and I got a look at his work (complete with styling and product) I was totally shocked. It was a little shorter than I'd have liked on the top and I could tell his "personal touch" was heavily influenced by his time cutting hair in Miami as the sides, especially around my ears, were almost faded and cropped so tight and close to my skin it matched the tight beard that I wear, but overall Luche did an awesome job and it seemed effortless to him, so effortless that it felt like he wasn't even trying. This annual Spring cut is a source of great anxiety for me, but Luche delivered big time. Had he left an inch or so of length on top I'd say it was exactly what I wanted. As for his "chairside manner", he was low key and thank GOD talked more about himself than asking me questions about me. As an introverted, misanthropic ex-retail manager, I absolutely despise small talk of any and every kind. Blackbeard loses the fifth star only because Luche also trimmed and treated my beard without me asking and charged me the extra $10 for it. It wasn't really a problem for me, but I felt it was worth mentioning; some might have felt coerced. I can't really say, no beard service, please, once he takes a razor to it. In conclusion, though my taste runs in the exact opposite direction of the urban vibe a place like this is going for, I'd recommend Blackbeard Co. to any typical bro-dude who likes to keep his hair in uniform conformity to the last 100 years of American male style. This was my first trip to a barber, and I was nervous. As a female, I usually go to a salon. My cut is tricky, and I wasn't getting the fade I wanted from my stylist, so I decided to give Blackbeard a try. (My hair is short, with tight sides, long bangs, and a buzzed neckline.) I called ahead and explained what I was looking for, and Yoshi told me to come in. He was awesome! He fixed my fade, smoothed out some poor blending, and even fixed a piece up top. the barber was extremely rude because we came 40 mins before they closed saying 'really bruh?' and kept making rude remarks on how they 'have a life' and that were just like every other customer. He cut my boyfriends hair so sloppy and fast that he got razor cuts, and sprayed alcohol Immediately after which burned like a bitch. No air hose, nothing. A haircut isn't something to be rushed. Never coming here again, they should be thankful that we even payed for that mess. read more
