TATTOO WAS DONE BY VEE!! if you want a quick, light handed, easy going, calm artist vee is definitely the way to go. I went back there in the month of may to get this cover up. WALK IN mind you they took me and my bestfriend immediately. we were in and out in less than an hour. that's with myself taking breaks to sip water and have a candy during that blood sugar drop/ adrenaline that happens. definitely going back to this place. even thinking about it today for another walk in. ; )

I am absolutely in love with black widow, I went here for most of my piercings and now I finally decided to get tattooed here. I walked in and Tony Greeted me warmly and told me he'd be happy to do my tattoo, he showed me a few different fonts and we found the perfect one for me. He understood that this tattoo meant a lot to me so he took his time and did an amazing job. I definitely found my new favorite ink spot. My brother would be very proud.

I called 1/8 in the afternoon asking if they openings this day. They did. So I drove right over and got placed with Art (oz). I got 2 tattoos done. Art explained everything and helped me design my idea. He is very detail oriented, great with his lines. I love my tattoos so much! They are still healing but looking great! My favorite is the semi colon. I just was going for black lined tattoo and he did shading on it... beautiful!! Made it even better! I will be back over and over! I contacted them for a small cross tattoo on my wrist. They were pretty quick to respond. We scheduled an appointment which was literally the next day, I went in and was greeted by Kim, she was superrr nice and so patient with me. The shop was very clean and she also was very clean and careful with everything, she did an amazing job on my tattoo. It came out better than what I was expecting. I love it!!! This review is solemnly for their Friday the 13th event. When we arrived there was already a line, which went outside the shop. People were in line however they never checked in, so they all formed a line for nothing. Until my boyfriend went inside to actually speak with an associate, we figured out that you needed to sign in. After we signed in, it was a hot mess. There was some people that were after us, that ended up getting tattooed before us. Which I don't know how that worked. They have really good designs for their flash sale, which attracted a lot of the younger crowd. We waited about an hour, which isn't too bad. However when we made sure we put our names on the right list, because we saw two lists and just wanted to clarify, we were told by an associate if we signed in we signed in with attitude. I understand it gets busy on days like this, but there wasn't any clarification from the beginning. I got my tattoo done my Jack and I'd give him all 5 stars if I could. He was done pretty quick, and the piece was absolutely beautiful. When I finally got sat, it only took less than 10 mins & he was super friendly/chill. Would I come back? No. I feel like there are so many tattoo parlors out there, that are way more welcoming than this one. I've been to plenty of other places and everywhere else was better than this one. read more

My friend and I came to BW on a fly one day for walk-in tattoos. Unfortunately they were too busy that day and we had to come back. We made an appt with JD- deposit of $50 was placed. JD did amazing work on our moon tattoos. The vibe in here was great, we had some awesome conversations and even a few laughs. Wont lie there may have been some shazaming of music too. The staff here was dope and vibe matched. JD's work was incredible (peep the picture) high in detail and the ink came out better than I imagined. It looks like my tattoo was meant to be there the entire time. read more

Have you ever wanted a tattoo and just never knew where to start or go? Start at black widow and you wont be sorry! Ive been coming here since I was 19 (im only 24 but it makes my review more dramatic to say that) but every-time its been amazing! The art and the vibe is what keeps brining me back! I cant speak for everyone but I know they all are amazing. You come to get a tattoo but you also get a family. The Art is amazing and some of the best i have had the pleasure to put on me. You feel like your just talking to your best friends and those two things combine is something you cant get just anywhere. read more

I came here to get my ears pierced and they did really good. I had came here about a year ago for my nose piercing; I was treated the same way. I got my first tattoo with Jak. I expressed my concern regarding to my keloid prone along with Dermatographia skin condition and he was very understanding and took his time completing my tattoo. It has been a few days now and no sign of scaring or keloid. My tattoo looks so amazing. After 24 hours, my skin started to show sign of allergic reaction to the Saniderm adhesive and I contacted Jak and got a respond with solutions for my problems within minutes! I highly recommend this studio if you are looking for great pricing and amazing artist with great work ethnic and attitude. I will definitely book with Jak again to complete my sleeve in the future. We go to black widow for tattoos and are very happy but on this trip we went for piercings. We brought in our 9 year old for ear piercings and Krystal was so patient with our very hesitant daughter. We were so grateful for that. Unfortunately when she did my tongue piercing it went in quite sideways. It wasn't something I could live with so I went back. She did not have a problem re piercing it but getting my tongue pierced twice sucked. Krystal was so kind but she did not seem to have the experience and/or talent you want when piecing something. I wish I had gone somewhere else. read more

I've been coming to here since last year to get work done by Justin. He's done 3 awesome pieces on me since then and I love all of them. He loves his craft, has an excellent understanding of color and design, and works hard to make every tattoo a unique work of art. The atmosphere here is great as well. Love this spot, came across it after searching top tattoo shops in my area since my other artist from a different shop kept flaking on me so after searching, black widow was the top shop so I went in scheduled an appt for a scar cover up and Rudy made me feel relaxed and comfortable from the consultation. I have 7 tattoos total and was not happy with the ink on my upper arm. I had been to two artists to figure out what to do to make the the area look more like one cohesive tattoo. A friend introduced me to Black Widow tattoo. I did a thorough investigation, reading reviews and looking at photos on many different websites. I made an appt with Rudy for a consultation. He immediately had a vision. I am thrilled with the work and the way it healed. All of the staff I met were Happy people and treated each other like family. And the place is really clean. Fast forward to Christmas Eve, I text her and said, "Let's go the day after Christmas. No excuses." I searched for a tattoo shop with good reviews and found Lucky Buddha Tattoo. Since it was Christmas Eve night, I couldn't get ahold of anyone (understandably), so we decided to just try our luck the next day. The shop is located off San Juan and Madison, which can be a busy area, but there's parking right out front... huge win. When we walked in, we were greeted by their apprentice, Sophia, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. We explained what we wanted and hoped we could get it done that day. Our original idea was to place the tattoo on the palm area, but Sophia was very transparent about how ink usually doesn't hold well there. She suggested an alternative placement that still worked perfectly with our vision. After discussing the price, we decided to go for it. Luckily, she had availability right then and there. She was so patient, making every tweak and edit we asked for without hesitation or attitude Absolute gem. While she was designing, we hung out up front and got some unexpected puppy therapy! their sweet pit bull wandered over and decided my friend was her chosen human. She jumped right into her lap and chilled, which was especially adorable since my friend is normally scared of big dogs. Instant icebreaker. The entire vibe of the shop was warm, friendly, and chill. The owner even came out and chatted with us for a bit, which just added to the good energy. Once we finalized the design, Sophia got to work. She had a gentle hand, and each tattoo only took about 20 minutes. We walked out beyond happy. the tattoos came out perfect, and the experience was even better. The building itself has a really cool history, and the inside of the shop looks incredible. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride not only in the space, but in the team they've built. Eli Rushing was my artist, and he took me as a walk-in. I came in wanting to get my newborn son's footprints tattooed on each side of my Tree of Life. We bounced around a few ideas and landed on a design I was really excited about. Eli absolutely nailed it. We had great conversation throughout the session, and once it was done, I was genuinely blown away by the finished piece. On a whim, I also asked if he'd be willing to touch up some faded Hawaiian islands I have on my other arm, and he didn't hesitate. He was happy to do it, which I really appreciated. The pricing was very fair, and I tipped well because I felt he absolutely deserved it. That was fully my choice, just based on the quality of the work and the overall experience. Everyone coming through the shop was friendly, talkative, and welcoming. Even the shop hand stood out--she was constantly making sure the artists had what they needed and was great with customers. You can see why this place has won so many awards. The shop and the artists absolutely live up to that reputation. Thankfully I live less than a mile away, because I'll definitely be coming back for future work. Thanks Eli and thanks Honeymoon Tattoo for such a great experience!

I also have a friend who has received a few tattoos from him. He was fair, culturally appropriate, and made the experience enjoyable for all involved. I arrived to my session 15 minutes late (different artist) However, the tattoo artist did not pull me back until 45 minutes after my initial arrival time. The sketch he showed me the day before ended up being the final draft, when he put the stencil on me and of course I did not like it, I vocalized it, as I sat in the chair, thinking we'd have a conversation about changes... he began to reprimanded me like I was a child!!! I have six tattoos, I have never been more offended, walking into a place to work with a person. It's like he was trying to get a rise out of me (not who I am, sir) When I tried to approach it maturely (asking open-ended questionsand for clarity), he continued to make it inappropriate and uncomfortable (in front of others and attempting to adding colleagues to the discussion) using the excuse of "this is permanent, then I have a family to feed, and last you seem unsure" as his way out of doing the tattoo as opposed to just telling me he didn't wanna work with me. I felt embarrassed, vulnerable, rejected, and dismissed by this man... I have never cried at a tattoo parlor previously, and I will never be back to this one. He said that he was trying not to make my experience worse!!!!! While making it the worst experience I have ever had... he was culturally inappropriate, passive aggressive, and he was clearly offended by my dislike of the sketching he was using as a final draft to put on my arm. Even when I showed him another version of something that I wanted, he made a big deal out of it and then started talking about time. What an inconsiderate human... I even tried to leave him the deposit I put down for my tattoo because of his need to feed his family. Fortunately, they gave it back to me. This is my truth it is valid ... the end... how many black people do you see in the photos (many???) and when you are the owner asking people to be on your side of course they will they work with you dude. I was looking to get a few piercings and wanted I place with the highest ratings. Yelp sent me…read morestraight to IICON piercing in Carmichael. Which is perfect since it right in my town. It was a little a little difficult to make an appointment since there is no website posted and it's appointment only. I tried calling for a little over a week and no one would answer the phone and finally a lady answered. I check to see if they had any same day appointments, but they didn't and she said she had to send me a link to book an appointment. The link sends you to book an appointment in which you pick the piercing service you want for each service you must put down a partial non refundable deposit for the time you book ad they are reserving that time slot just for you based on the service (s) you need. This place must be a popular place to go to for piercings because they were 2 weeks out for that next available appointment. I arrived a little early in case I needed to fill out and liability paperwork. I waited a few minutes before being greeted. The lady came out the back about 10 mins into my appointment time. I wanted to go over the jewelry I wanted instead of the surgical stainless steel jewelry. They have 14K jewelry and titanium and I forgot the other metal. I originally 14k jewelry but they only had yellow gold and I preferred white gold, but they didn't have it for the piercings I was getting. The piercings I got was the spider bite, Monroe and tongue. The jewelry I went with is Titanium jewelry instead. They gave me a nice discount for the amount of piercings and jewelry pieces I got. They are a little higher than other places that do piercings, but I'd leather pay for quality over quantity. The gentleman who did my piercings I forgot his name, but he was very patient with me with the area I wanted pierce. Allowed me to take my time with the positioning on the piercings until I was satisfied. He went through the process with my and recommended products to use to prevent infections and proper healing. I was told to come back in a week to make sure my piercings are healing nicely no extra charge for that and to downsize the jewelry if needed. I highly recommend coming here if you want a clean quality place to get your piercings. I will definitely be back if I decide to get more piercings.

Like that's NOT what I was explaining! I don't care about the pain. I'm more concerned about my BUTTON BALL SINKING INTO MY BELLY BUTTON! Anyways, I will NOT be returning. I found Black Widow Tattoo by chance and I'm so glad that I did. I had a botched tattoo from the past that James covered up beautifully for me. I've now gotten a nice portion of my arm done by James also! Gorgeous and well done memorial piece on my upper arm. Super happy with his work! All of the artists that work here are very reputable and know what they are doing. I can't say that enough! Every one of them is very organized and clean!! They are all great! Each artist has a portfolio on the front counter, and between all of the artists there's a very nice range of tattooing styles offered. I sat for almost 9 hours with James for my memorial piece on my arm and the guys got me some tacos from the taco truck across the street to make sure I was physically okay while getting tattooed. There's a convenience store next door, you can buy drinks and candies to get you through a hefty tattoo. I also need to add that Taylor aka The Piercing Chic, is an awesome piercer. She knows what she's doing and her area is super clean! I got a cartilage piercing done on my ear and she did a perfect job! It healed fantastic! Everyone that works at Black Widow Tattoo does a fantastic job. I love their work here and their sincerity. Never a dull moment! 100% happy from me! Definitely recommend. read more

I came into Highland's Finest (now Black Widow) to get a piercing, I LOVE the decor of the shop. It's all black and purple and has kind of a gothic vibe. Very unique, I was helped as soon as I walked in and everyone was friendly. The problem started upon getting the actual piercing, now nothing was wrong with the piercing itself but the person doing the piercings made me VERY uncomfortable. While friendly they were dressed totally inappropriately to be in ANY kind of business or in any kind of situation working with people especially since at one point I was seated between this persons legs for the piercing... VERY short shorts and a shirt exposing back, sides and bra(?) strap. Are you kidding me?? Who goes to work dressed like this? Really not cool male or female. Also, they were very hands on even while greeting me and saying goodbye. It was all just very uncomfortable and this person tried to add me to facebook as well. I came to get a piercing not to have some weirdo try to pick me up. The music was also a bit loud though it was turned down after a while. All and all I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Recently visited Highlands Finest Tattoos and was blessed to meet Rudy and have the best ink laid on me yet! From the jump I gave a incomplete picture which the artist had to finish to my liking and that was done superb. The owner Kenya Bell was courteous and nice and made me feel as comfortable as my artist Rudy did. The piece was a rib tat that became a five hour session of me moving and squirming here and there and not one inkling of a complaint came from Rudy. After all said an done, there's three things I love that's God, my daughter, and this Tat. I've been a victim of garage tatting so it was nice to get a actual professional tattoo that came out PERFECT... check my instagram for pics of the tat.. gbrsavsostopit. Was researching tattoo shops in the area near my house and came across the amazing reviews for Black Widow. I had driven by several times but never stopped in. I went by to get an idea about a quote for a portrait of my dog and was instantly quoted 300! I thought it would be way more so when I am ready for that one I am for sure going back. But while I was there I had James finish my Fleur De Lis New Orleans Saints logo that another artist had started somewhere else but never had finished. He was awesome listened to how i wanted it had me look over it to see if I wanted more ink added. So professional and a great artist and nice dude overall. All the guys at this shop made me feel right at home will be going back soon so I can have Rudy do My Dog's portrait and will be going back to James for more as well. read more

i was recommended to go here because I needed a better tattoo parlor to go to since mine turned horrible. And as soon as I called for a tattoo appt I was already thrilled to go. Everyone was so nice and funny and just enjoyable to be around. As far as my tattoo I seriously am so in love with it I cried. Alex did an amazing job. He was so patient with me being so picky but he did wonderful. He made sure I was completely satisfied. It healed so easily so amazing and so fast. He was gentle he was kind and I recommend this place to everyone. The whole staff made it just so comfronting to me. And the quality of tattoos is amazing! After getting an appointment for 7/18, I walked in and was greeted by both the lady at the desk, as well as Art. After consulting with what I wanted, and receiving several helpful tips on size and position, It was time to start tattooing. Being my first time getting a tattoo, I was a little nervous, however he calmed my nerves by making sure that I was comfortable at all times, as well as making sure that the template was at the right spot and angle. Lines were perfect, as well as the script I got on my ribs. Shop was very clean, and he took several precautions to maintain a sterile environment. This tattoo shop was literally one of the best ones I've been to. Usually when you enter a shop the artists act too cool to even notice you've walked in but not here. Everyone was very helpful and attentive. Alex was my artist. I came in as a walk in and he made me feel completely welcomed and was very enthusiastic to do my new tattoo. I wanted to get a belly-button piercing, so I called and made an appointment. They answered immediately and we set up a time. When I got there I signed the liability form and laid down in the chair. She clamped my belly-button (it took her a few tries) and then when she stuck the needle in, it wasn't just a quick poke like it's supposed to be. This woman slowly poked the needle through my skin and it was one of the most painful experiences. And it turned out crooked! My sister got her nipples pieced here and she did the same thing! She slowly stuck the needle in (she went through the skin outside of the nipples) and caused her so much pain too. I'm never going back here again. read more

This is Robert. C. I've been searching for a tattoo artist for some time to create a tribal sleeve. I did my research and months later decided on Smiles at Black Widow Tattoos in North Highlands. Yesterday he created a master piece. I have to go back in a couple of weeks for round#2 and then I will present it to the world. Smiles is more then an artist. Just wanted to give Black Widow Tattoo Studio a shoutout especially to Millie Vanilly aka Milton he so amazing!!!! Let me just say I have gotten tatted by a couple different artist before but with Milton it was the best experience. I got a half sleeve, like 5 hr process I didn't feel awkward at all, the shop had good ass vibes, and my sleeve came out exactly how I imagined I mean it came out better then I imagined. I walked in the other weekend looking into get an apprenticeship and talked to a handful of the artists, They are all very friendly. This place had a very calm and homey vibe i didn't really get that from alot of the other Tattoo and piercing places i had been to in the last couple years. Hands down best customer service I have ever received in a tattoo/piercing place. I went in to ask about 1st time piercings for my 2 yr old daughter, and Krystal was very helpful in educating me on how to prepare and the after care. Since I was passing through town on my way home to Reno NV. I decided to schedule an appt for spring break when I bring my girls back down to visit with family. Went in a couple weeks ago just to get a consult off of a recommendation from some friends for Milton and I was not disappointed. The shop is not overly busy and everyone is extremely friendly. My artist Milton was very helpful and listened to what I wanted and helped me navigate through my tattoo, which ended up being for the best. This people is working on customers that is wearing mask but refuse to put one on themselves. We wanted a piercing that involves you been around my open mouth, The young lady refused and said it was her choice. Covid il 19 is real living virus that respects no one. I think they should be reported because they are not complying with the mandatory order of wearing a mask. Even the manager wasn't wearing a mask on. Highlands finest is an amazing shop that is professional and the artist are patient and calming while you are getting work done. I had 2 unique pieces done there and the artist didn't try to change my design like others that I had received quotes from instead he worked with me to improve my vision. I have had work done at other shops and I have never had an experience as good as the one I had at this shop. I have been going to James A. for my tattoo work for 4 plus years now. James always goes above and beyond in making sure I am happy with the ink he is putting down. Rudy took on the challenge of covering up a tattoo in a tight spot and he knocked it out of the park. He also covered up a large tattoo on my leg and enhanced it with adding 2 other large pieces. The designs matched and the tattoo healed perfectly. Rudy also worked with my crazy work and parenting schedule.
