You literally have to chase them to get a response and a solution. The $900/month are supposed to cover maintenance and 2 general check-ups every six months. It has been 8 months since we hired them and they have not done the six months check up yet. It has been a very frustrating process and we are terminating the contract with them. Not worth the money, nor the headache.

It appears that JPI now only does central vacuum services, but they used to do alarm installations…read moreas well. I recently had some problems getting the installer code for an alarm that JPI had originally installed. I called the most recent monitoring company and they wouldn't give it to me or do anything to help. I reached out to Pat at JPI and even though his connection to our system had ended years ago he was extremely helpful. After a couple of minutes on the phone with him I had the installer code and could setup our alarm with its new monitoring service. This company clearly stands behind their work. We also have a central vacuum that JPI installed, and it works extremely well. A long time ago my parents had a central vacuum that never worked properly and I kind of assumed that the whole idea was a dud. I was wrong though, this vacuum is great.

My family first dealt w/ Jim Dart approx 40 years ago. I couldn't cook my Thanksgiving turkey, as…read morethe oven wouldn't work. He was there at my house Thanksgiving Eve & fixed the oven. I loved his authentic no BS demeanor. I'm not stuck-up & can take a no-BS kind of person. Since that time Jim has been back to rescue me for washing machine, fridge, stove-top, oven again, plumbing & HVAC. The last time, 2 yrs ago?), he was my go-to guy after the contract guy fr my Gas & Electric company barely looked at my AC out in the garden & told me I needed a new system. That baltimore G&E guy didn't even go into the house but told me I'd need a whole new hvac system at approx $24K. My heart dropped! I called Jim for a 2nd opinion. He noticed w/i 1.5 minutes that a wire or something was not connected on the big box outside. He reconnected things; then used a meter to check how much freon I had. He filled a refrigerant, as a favor to me. The AC was up & running great & he figured it out & fixed all in 10 minutes at 1/16 of the est. cost to replace my entire system. I can trust Jim to always steer my right. There's something special abt Jim. He has this gift of compassion. I know this as after 2016 i was in deep grief after the tragic passing of my son. My home was in disarray, my mood was jumbled & low. He sensed the chaos & the debilitating effect grief had hold on me. Despite me & my house not being at their best, he carried on & set me upright. My intuition told me he knew. I now need his expertise again, as a hose in my basement ceiling shows leaking & the AC is not cold. I will call Jim. I can honestly say, as a human w/ a loving heart, I love my friend Jim. He knows stuff never learned by most technicians today. Not sure abt his prowess w/ all the computerized wi-fi junk being produced today & programmed to break down after warranty. But nothing I have is new. I prefer items manufactured decades ago, when things were built to last. Next move, call Jim!

This is the most professional contractor of any type that I have used during my time as a homeowner…read morefor over 30 years. innovative did such a great job on our first generator that I hired them for our next home too. Our first house to use Innovative was built in 1939, and it was literally a stone castle ( In Baltimore County!). I interviewed several other companies, and none of the others could figure out just how to pipe the generator. Our job turned out to be very tricky due to thick stone walls and very old infrastructure. One very popular company left it up to me to determine where to put the generator outside. They told me it would X dollars per foot, and then they gestured outside, this way and that, told me to decide and left. I asked all of them to tell me how many outlets in my house their generator would cover. Not one other company would tell me in advance of my hiring them. I wanted to give them a list of things I wanted covered, to see what size generator I needed or if the size that most of them recommended would cover my most important outlets, but they all said they didn't handle that at the beginning ( this was going to be a large generator- can't recall exactly- maybe 20kw?) but not a full house generator. That's why I needed them to tell me how much the generator they recommended would cover. Finally I met Innovative. Doug Keller, the owner, is the consummate professional. He agreed to look at my list and explore my house, and he told me exactly what the generator would cover. I saw why the others didn't want to do that. He had to bring an electrician over to test my outlets, but he did so. He also immediately told me where the generator should go. And he was so correct, I realized. He immediately spotted a place outside my garage, where the pipe could come from the gas line in the basement out a, for example, corner and power the generator. And it was a corner hidden so you couldn't see the generator from inside the house ( so we wouldn't have an eyesore). Also, Doug had a generator that no one else was selling. Everyone was telling me not to use Generac, that they fail. The other companies offered me Kohler generators, and they are SO expensive. But Doug used G and E. It has changed it's name now, but it was fabulous. Not only was it cheaper ( believe me though, it is high quality and an investment), but it features load sharing. So we could for example have the A/c on downstairs during the day, and move the A/C to upstairs at night in an emergency. No one else offered that! So we hired Innovative. They excelled in the installation. They excel in the service. We have a twice a year maintenance agreement, which you need because it's a car engine basically that needs to be serviced. But they service you very well. And if you have an emergency, they were the only company to tell me that, if necessary, they would come out at night or weekend. You need that if you are not going to lose your refrigerated food, if the generator fails which they all do at some point. We are on our second generator with Innovative. It was installed perfectly. It is being serviced perfectly. Once or twice it didn't start up, but they talked me through restarting it immediately, and they would have come out to help had I asked. Ours has never failed by the way. Innovative Energy is not only the best generator company out there, but, as I said, the best contractor I have ever used. Paula Himeles
