this salon deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Here is my experience the best salon i have ever been to. I started by booking for a first client consultation with Kait. Being an Asian girl with long black straight hair, I did lots of research before finay picking BSH. I wanted to go full dark grey with darker roots but I knew that it wasnt gonna be an easy journey. Once I showed up to the appointment, i was greeted with smiles and was offered drinks or to hang my coat up. without much wait i was able to sit down while kait told me about everything i was in for. she made sure i was comfortable and endlessly ensured me that if she felt that my hair couldnt handle it, she would stop. however she also said that no matter what i would be leaving the salon looking amazing. despite knowing how risky this would be, i went through with it because i knew that even if my hair didnt lighten enough, i would still be able to leave with good looking hair. also, she let me know how much and how long it'd be.... 5 days after my consultation, came my actual hair appointment. I was extremely nervous and was terrified of all my hair falling out. again ensuring me that i was in good hands, we started bleaching. The foils it self took around 3-4 hours to apply. BUT AMAZINGLY MY HAIR LIFTED THE FIRST TRY! that meant that i would be going home with the colour i'd always wanted. Kait is amazing at what she does. her meticulous efforts helped keep my hair strong and natural looking. by the end of it, my hair still felt strong and not drying at all (probably because of all the keratin mixtures and conditioners she put in). by the end of this 8 hour long journey ( i was there from 1-9) i was in awe of how great of a job she did. seeing the amount of time and precision it takes to dye hair made me appreciate everything this salon did for me even more. guys she applied foils to my head for 3 hours straight. taking the smallest sections in order for the bleach to throughly process everything. the foils felt like it weighed more than my head it self but TRUST ME it was worth it. I will definitely be coming to this salon again maybe to revitalize the colour or maybe get a short hair cut, either way i know i'll be in good hands. Just finished a balayage appointment with Nicole and I have two words: F*%K YES! She was incredible to work with right from the consultation to the end result. It has been more than a year since I've let anyone touch my hair so when the greys become irritating to look at, I started to look for a colourist. Thanks to Yelp, I found BSH. I wrote in and Lauren passed me over to Nicole for a consultation. We were able to chat about what I wanted and what I needed while Nicole listened and offered constructive feedback based on my face shape, hair type, and my wants. We settled on AWESOME and then two weeks later, I returned. I came in today and she began working her magic! We had an amazing chat while she worked, she explained what she was doing and why, and she also sent me away with a care package so that her fabulous work could be preserved. The end result was absolutely amazing - Nicole balayage-d my hair just enough without going past my comfort zone while also covering my greys and adding some sun-kissed highlights. She then cut and styled my hair exactly how I wanted it and I honestly could not be more happier. As I said, F*%K YES! I love my hair SO MUCH and thank you, Nicole, for making my hair beautiful. My wife and I were both looking to replace our Hair Stylist and Barber and stumbled upon BHS. First up was the wifey and she was very impressed and set me up as well for a cut the next weekend. I met Ryan and Dylan who made me feel genuinely welcome. Ryan even went out of his way to come to me and ask if I would like something to drink and kindly went upstairs to get me a glass of water. Dylan is truly a professional and has an amazing personality. He faced a daunting task working on my extremely curly and out of control type hair but Wow he was amazing and I am extremely happy with the outcome. Trust me when you have curly hair like me it is almost impossible to find the person that can make it look good. I really did appreciate the way he was able to make my hair feel great and also for his great advice and suggestions to keep it this way. I am very pleased indeed. I came to this salon today with damage hair and a bad haircut. I came out from this salon with amazing ginger looking hair that looks naturally ginger with a healthy shine. I had a photo with me of the colour that I was looking for and I got exactly what I had ask for. Ryan is amazing guy that listens and has a lot of experience, he even took a time to show me how to properly blow dry my hair and he made sure that I understand how to take care my hair. I visit many salons before but none of them gave me the ginger colour that I wanted. Ryan did it right way on the first try. I recommend this Salon 100%, because I have find a place where I get exactly what I am looking for. This salon has beautiful energy and amazing people that will listen. I went for the first time after seeing the posting about BSH on the Village Business Website. I made an appointment on line via their website with Samantha. When I came in for my appointment I was greeted warmly with a huge smile from Ryan who I think is the owner and he has a wonderful personality. I was early but Samantha took me right on time for my appointment which was 7:45. I LOVED my cut and I loved the price even more! FINALLY a salon that charges a special price for short hair! With tax and generous tip it came to $64. My previous salon used to charge my boy-hair cut (I am a girl) $80 + tax and tip. I already made my second appointment. Samantha is a GEM! Finally finding Black Sheep Hair has been life changing. I bounced around for years after my formerly favourite hairdresser moved away. After doing a lot of research, I stumbled across BSH and thank god. I booked an appointment online with Nicole and she is the first stylist to have ever understood that my cut needs to look good both curly (my natural texture) and straight (how I usually wear it to work). It's a really beautiful salon and the people who work there are hilarious, lovely, and genuinely kind to everyone that walks through the door. Black Sheep Hair is Toronto's best. I continue to be impressed with the atmosphere, service, and creative expertise demonstrated by the staff, especially Kait and Ryan. Kait has been cutting and coloring my hair for a number of years now and I continue to be impressed by her incredible talent. My hair is naturally dark brown and her highlighting technique for giving it a natural, balayage look is amazing. My hair is SO soft and shiny after coloring--no dryness at all. I have been in Toronto for five years and have finally found my hairdresser. Dylan took time talking to me about what I wanted and I just told him to do what he felt was best as after out chat I trusted him completely and I was not disappointed. The prices are amazing the staff lovely friendly people. This is the place to go whatever your age Dylan is amazing and extremely talented friendly gorgeous human being. First time customer. I walked in and lucked out ! Got Kait as my stylist. Basically spent $50 on the most amazing head/scalp massage I have ever got. Included in the low price was the best freekin haircut I have received in my 60 years on this planet. And, I have spent more at other salons. None of that #2 on the sides and #3 on the top. Kait scissor cut my hair for about an hour. She also gave me some fantastic recommendations for hair care. Ryan, the owner, dropped by the chair to introduce himself and have a chat. This team is second to none. I was desperately overdue for a haircut and highlights because of COVID, and Nyima did an incredible job. My hair is very fine and very difficult to style so she had to highlight it in very small sections, which took hours. She basically dedicated her entire day to my satisfaction and comfort; and Ryan also lended his expertise throughout. I honestly felt like I had an entourage taking care of me! I love the products they use, they understood exactly what I needed for my stubborn hair and the cut is gorgeous. I love BSH! The vibe there is soooo laid back and fun and the salon itself is beautiful. I feel right at home whenever I make my monthly visit to Samantha to update my hair. Also! Sam always finds a way to make my hair look unique. Despite the fact that I might simply ask for pink hair, I come out with the most unique and fun version of pink hair there is and I love feeling like there's no one else who has the same hair as me. Whatever colour I come in asking for, or whatever vision I have for my hair, she always finds a way to bring that to life and exceed my expectations. I was having a hard time finding a place after switching from my regular guy. Fortunately, I've found my new place! Staff is over the top...in kindness, customer service, fun.... my stylist was amazing and took the time to really give me the cut I wanted. In addition, he was teaching me how to deal with my hair naturally as opposed to selling some artificial product that will "fix all my problems." I have curly, frizzy, difficult to deal with hair - that needed proper, debulking, layers and length - which is exactly what I got. I fully support BSH. I can honestly say that BSH is one of the best hair salons I've ever been to. The place is beautiful, the staff are friendly and Ryan the owner is really helpful and knowledgeable. I went there as I was unhappy with a cut from a different hairdresser and Ryan seemed to intuitively know what I wanted. He tidied it up for me and I left feeling 100% better. This is the first salon in Toronto where I've felt comfortable and very welcomed. Every staff member is friendly and positive. My hair was a complete mess coming in and Samantha took the task at hand in full force. She listened to my wants and needs and added in her own style and creativity. A few weeks earlier before seeing Samantha for a cut and color, I saw kait for hair styling for a wedding. She added lots of volume and curls towards my fine hair. Dylan is the best hairstylist that I've ever had, hands down. He was professional, knowledgeable, took the time to explain what works for my hair, and gave me a wicked haircut (which by the way he fixed as it was previously butchered from a visit at another salon) It is evident that Dylan takes immense pride in his work as after a 90 minute haircut, he just "had to cut three more tiny hairs". I absolutely LOOOOOVE this place! Nicole actually saved my life. I bleached my hair at home, and than made the horrible choice of dying my hair blue... then it turned green. I've consistently gone in and have my hair cut with Ryan and somedays had a plan... somedays let him do his thing. And every time, I've -loved- my cut. The environment is super sleek but the staff are warm and welcoming and I never feel pressured here (i.e. you MUST buy this because of X and X or you really should come back and do this....)
