Okay, Missy Kim, the family Getz, needed new tires. I called and described what I wanted-3 tires…read moreexactly like the spare in my boot. The fellow on the phone checked and said he could have them in the store when they opened the next day. I made an appointment for 9:30 and showed up the next morning. As I walked in, the guy behind the counter said, "John?" "Wow," I thought. "These guys know how to run a business." We quickly sorted through the "extras." I was offered a wheel alignment, which I didn't think I needed at this point. No worries and none of the high pressure BS that sometimes happens. Just a plain simple, "OK, we'll get right on it if you want to have a seat in our lounge. I declined and said I was going out for Brekkie and would be back at noon. I returned at noon, car done, everything perfect and.....the tires were $ 7 cheaper per tire than the best price I had been given by the tire store where I had bought my original tire that was in the boot. I was happy! So, great service, great prices, quality work. I'll be back in 40,000k when I am ready for my next set of tires.
Very, very impressed! Not only were they spot on for price (without having to haggle) but the tyres…read moreI wanted were in stock and the service was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and prompt. They even offer a free rotation and check of the alignment and balancing at 3 months.
Maxi Tyres
Great position on South Road to be selling tyres. I imagine that is half the battle, being noticed…read more There's also the bright colours and the great word of mouth, they would help as well. I have a few young men in my life who care about their cars. They have all said positive things about Maxi Tyres and I went along to check what I had been told. Yes they are friendly. Yes they seem to be able to do jobs quickly without it being more expensive than you would think, or they quote, and the place is pretty big. Nice guys, fair prices.
Not happy with the car service. I had to take my car twice for a simple regular car service…read more Once there was no break fluid available and they only could change the oil and filter and asked me to return the car after x-mass holidays. On my return from holiday I noticed that the cooling water is not tapped as well and asked them to fill in the water. surprisingly this time they forgot to put the cooling water cap in its place and I noticed this after one week and the water was below minimum level this time. Fortunately enough the cap was still there trapped between the engine wires and I could fix it by myself.
Auto Masters Enfield
Sadly, Automasters Enfield has fallen FAR from it's former highs. I believe there has been a change…read moreof ownership since I originally visited so perhaps that is a factor. I visited Automasters more recently when my car battery began discharging excessively as I was about to embark on a long trip. The diagnosis was a faulty alternator and I was quoted $600 to supply and fit a replacement. As I had neither time nor the ability to move the car (with a now flat battery), I agreed to proceed with the job. The price seemed extraordinarily expensive to me, so a few minutes after leaving the car at Automasters, I called a nearby Auto Electrician to compare. I was quoted $395 to supply and fit the same part. I called Automasters to ask why their price was $200 or 50% (!!) higher and their response was to question the quality of the other parts being offered (by a long standing and well regarded Auto Electrician). Eventually Automasters agreed to complete the job for a price much closer to the other, lower price but this experience has soured my impression of Automasters completely.
Took my car for minor service (oil change) in good condition. On the midday, got a call from them…read moresaying, your car leaking oil from engine and will cost $270 for it. I asked them just to do the service and not to do anything about leakage, because it didnt have any leakage before. So brought the car back from service and parked in the shed. Next morning a big block under the car was wet by the leaked oil. Car started shaking in 80km/hr from the same day. Took to another mechanic and he yelled on me not to play with car engine and stuffs myself. I told him, I just did service with auto master, but he wouldnt believe. I dont know how he fixed it in 40-50 mins, but he was fully convinced that i tried to do the service of my car myself. Summary: NEVER gonna take my car to them. P.S. I used to do the service in the same place when it was profix. Just few months before profix sold this store and these morons took i
