I have gone to the FU bookstore several times, looking for specific books. Not obscure books, but…read morepopular literary works on "best seller" lists and/or highly reviewed. I have never found them there, nor has a clerk ever heard of them. I've tried to run in to grab something random to read while traveling or for a beach day, only to find them closed. 10:00 am to 6:00 pm?? I just don't bother anymore. This is not a bookstore interested in serving the community or serious readers. Save your energy and drive down to Westport for the closest real bookstore.

Stepped in to this unexpectedly lovely independent bookstore. This truly is a 3rd space, an…read moreinformal public space outside of home and work where people can gather and interact. Odobo means the importance of active involvement and participation in one's neighborhood to foster a sense of community. This bookstore does just that. They offer different community events like story time for children, adult yoga, karaoke night and even a self defense class. Today I simply bought some stickers and perused the books. I have my eye on a book for next time. I'll be attending a class next weekend. The space feels welcoming and safe. Looking forward to more visits.
