Traveling from out of state, this was one of the places I circled on my map, hoping reality would match the stories. Somehow, it was even better. The blueberry latte was the kind of drink that slows time. Bright and refreshing, sweet without trying too hard, tasting like a morning walk through a Michigan orchard after the rain. Around me were cases filled with treats and shelves stacked with jams, syrups, and every blueberry creation imaginable, each one carrying a little piece of the region's soul. I was heading to dinner so I didn't get any food, but their menu features sweet and savory breakfast options, lunch sandwiches, bowls and salads, soups, even dinner options like a burger. Everything sounded great so I'd love to come back for lunch. The pastry case was calling me, so I got one blueberry donut and a blueberry lemon donut to take home. They were fresh and lightly glazed.
