Jamie was a Godsend to us when we first got here (and continues to be), but I don't want to leave out the rest of the staff, who are all very friendly and easy to work with. I would like to first say that we are pretty great tenants. We've been renting homes for nearly 20 years. We respect and care for the property we rent, and if we've damaged anything, we fix it before we leave, and shampoo the carpets. We always do a walk-through of the house before we move in, so we can document any damage or issues with Sandpoint Property (and keep a copy - pretty standard stuff). Then we do another one prior to leaving, and we may have to pay for a few minor things here and there - two dogs and two kids for two years doesn't always equal perfection. But honestly, we almost always get all of our deposit back. We pay our rent on time, every time, save our receipts, and communicate with SPM, if needed. We are currently renting a home from them that we've already been in for just under two years, and although there have been a few minor repairs, we've loved it. When there is a need for repairs, we've called SPM, and they've had repairmen come out and fix our issues, whether it was the washer or a heater problem. They even had guys come out and change the light bulbs in the vaulted ceiling - because we did not have a ladder that tall. I've never had to wait more than a few days for a problem to be addressed. Oh, and they have a pretty good website for you to search for your next rental that includes lots of photos and information on each property. It's a great place to start! That's where I always go first. ;)

With absolutely no exaggeration, I would say that Mistie is far and away the best realtor I've ever worked with. She listed my home in Sandpoint and stayed in contact with me with every showing. I never had to guess as to what was taking place with those showings because Mistie was always relaying the information so I was aware of everything that was taking place. Some RE agents just get in the way of deals and collect their fee, but Paul guided and advised expertly from start to finish. He is a well known and well respected insider in the greater Sandpoint area and so he was able to show us the home of our dreams and, more importantly, use his connections to get us into the deal and get it closed. Paul put us in touch with a 1031 facilitator and selling agent in San Diego with whom he had a track record, and kept the Sandpoint seller on board while the transaction unfolded. I was a top commercial real estate broker in San Diego so I know good service when I see it, and Paul Reisen is the best.

First American Title gave us a title commitment and we gave the seller our hard earned money for the home. A month or so later we were served with a lawsuite from someone else who said they owned the property. We were horrified and confused. We contacted First American Title and asked for their help. About 30 days later we received a check in the mail with no explanation from First American Title. Upon contacting them, they said the decided to give us back the $600 the seller paid for the insurance rather than help us. If you want a company that will do more than just take your money as long as there is no claim, I suggest you look for a reputable title insurance company, Do not go thru the horror that my family is facing.

I was in Germany when the recent (Jan. 2024) arctic front hit. I e-mailed R & L and asked whether they could enter my house, check on things, and do all the things we do to keep pipes from freezing. They responded immediately with, "Yes, of course." On the day I arrived home, Spokane was hit with record snowfall. Yet by the time got to Sandpoint, all snow had been cleared in driveways and parking areas near the house and I could drive right into my garage. Frozen pipes all over the county but all is well in my home.
