I would like to reiterate the cautions expressed in other reviews. DO NOT trust ANYTHING Bill…read moreGumaer tells you. DO NOT allow him on your property. Bill Gumaer met with me and agreed to build 4 retaining walls and 2 sets of concrete stairs. He bid the job at $39k. "Probably less". He estimated the job would take 2 weeks. He quoted me $26,800 for labor and said he wanted "half up front" and "half when the job was completed". I agreed to the terms and fully complied. 2 weeks in to the job, Bill came to me wanting $5,000 more in labor to which I stupidly agreed. The job has gone poorly from the onset. One of his laborers (a self-proclaimed convict) abruptly walked off the job early on. On one occasion, Bill told me to expect him at 7am. After being an hour late and texting him as to his whereabouts, he unleashed a string of profanities and threatened to walk off the job. He later excused it as "being the way concrete workers roll". I could go on about the loaded gun he keeps in his truck, the open bottle of whiskey that is readily available or the fact that he missed a half day of work because he can't even keep gas in his truck. So here we are! Wednesday this job will be 5 weeks ongoing with 20% of the work done. And yes, today he had the audacity to ask me for more money. I've now paid him $20,000 of the $31,800 agreed to. Half of that is $15,900. I've already paid him $4,900 more than the terms call for. Stupidly, I was willing to discuss the matter but before I had the chance he left the property and told me he had put the job on hold. My yard is destroyed with no end in sight. Hiring Bill Gumaer is one of my biggest regrets. PLEASE, learn from my mistake. DO NOT hire this guy. He is completely unprofessional and his demeanor is downright scary!

A year on, it's solid as a rock and looks great. I couldn't be happier with the service, workmanship and end result, at fair market value in our area.
