The project was in two parts because part of the damage was under solar panels. So we paid for what he did, and stayed in touch as the installers weren't able to get to us for weeks. Final roofing work happened yesterday, and he also replaced two shingles that had fallen since he'd left (not his fault). Easy to communicate with, generally responded same day or next day. Would use again.

DISASTER! $41,000 in damage / down payment to these…read moreunprofessional people. 8 months since they "started" and my roof still has water pouring in. - Found out Dan Systo / Walker Roofing let their contractor's license lapse as of 2019. They presented me with paperwork for the contract with a company name on it that went out of business years ago. -I wish I had caught their deceptive practices before this happened but the damage literally happened in a matter a few hours - total chaos. -Walker Roofing / Dan Systo BADLY damaged my house including neglecting to use tarps and they did not remove the gutters prior to ordering the crew up on the roof to scrape the old roof shingles off. This caused the gutters to rip off the house, scratch and gouge cedar siding and windows. Including a window hit so hard by their crew that it was wrenched directly out from the wall with a broken frame. Dan never came to see the damage and instead defended his crew. ----Dangerous. Used the wrong ice and rain shield. Left sharp pieces of metal all over the yard in addition to smashed gutters. Attached a few pieces of steel slats to the roof that blew down over the winter literally sticking in the deck and causing more damage and danger. Fired them. --Went all winter with water pouring into my house. I have photos and estimates to repair what Dan Systo / Walker Roofing did to my house. This is how Jancewicz operates: You call, they arrive and send up a drone for in depth photos of roof. Impressive. They come in for discussion of job. You choose slate and ridgecap colors. They come again in a week with contract which is always exceedingly high. Ours was $14,000 to replace a handful of tiles and two ridge caps. Yes, I've asked other customers and roofers about them--always high priced. Also they left the chimney repair out of the contract. The drone showed damage, it was discussed, but not included. I asked about that and the rep shrugged. Red flag! They brag repeatedly about this "great 80 year old company... " to impress you. So they are great, reliable etc. Right? Don't fall for it, they are no better than anyone else. But, out of desperation to get the roof fixed before winter you sign the contract. They come out with old, raggedy used slate. Not new slate which can be expensive and would help to explain the high cost of job. Explanation was that they couldn't match the old slate. This wasn't brought up by rep. Also brought ridge caps that are not your color. Sent them back for correct ones. Towards the end of job, Jancewicz demanded an additional $3000 for the chimney repair work on top of hefty $14,000 slate roof repair. "No way, should have been in contract," was my response. "We'll take care of it!" We hired a local company to repoint and replace flashing at roofline for $800. Great job. No more leaking into ceilings. Saved $2300. Yes, I'm wiser now. The job took 10 days, not the 3 days they stated. It wasn't rain that kept them away as they were no shows on some beautiful clear days. Go local, get referrals from people you know. These guys are no better. They advertise, that's all.
