A lovely village pub serving good, home-cooked food and real ales.
The pub is located on one of the two 'squares' in this popular pilgrimage spot, serving those visiting one of the several shrines to Our Lady of Walsingham.
The pub itself has s front bar area and two rear rooms reserved for dining, each with a large fireplace. The pub is decorated in a traditional style with wooden furniture.
There's an extensive a la carte menu with a range of daily specials on the blackboard. We had Beef & Ale pie with mash and a Vegetable Madras curry as mains: both good if not spectacular. The dessert of white chocolate and cranberry bread-and-butter pudding with pistachio ice cream, however, was stunning. All washed down with locals ales, the bill came to £42.
Staff were charming and service was very friendly and efficient.
