The Rose Tavern is a lovely little pub on the outskirts of the Golden Triangle. Jimmyx does a good job of giving you the lowdown on it's layout, but it's also got a lovely outside area which catches the sun well (and with a sheltered area in case you're a beer drinking vamp). They serve some nice ales, the usual collection of lagers, and have a few nice ciders as well. It's all well kept and I've yet to have a bad pint there.
The food, on both occasions I've eaten there, has been good; the steak was fantastic and came with enough chips (with skins on, which I love) and salad to survive the odd snipe attack from my vegetarian girlfriend. The chickpea burger she had was a big boy too, and was nicely seasoned. The prices range between 6-9 quid, they have a regular menu as well as a specials board and it's a lovely place to eat. The staff are really nice, chatty and care about their pub.
It's well worth a trip to, especially since it's on the way to/from town from the Golden Triangle. read more
