If you're visiting Norfolk and want to eat somewhere with that real old countryside vibe, The White…read moreLodge is a fantastic place to do this. Whether you want to sit at the bar and chat to the locals or enjoy a typical Norfolk-inspired meal, both can be done here! This pub changes hands relatively often, but the quality of food and service is generally still very good. Their menu caters for children, adults and older people alike, and the outside play area means that there's something for the whole family to do while they're visiting. This pub is located opposite another restaurant/bar, which means that generally it's not necessary to book in advance. You can usually get a table just by showing up. The food is served quickly and the wait staff in particular are always bright and friendly. Great for meals, socialising and getting that real Norfolk feeling.

One word: COZY! This…read moreplace is cute and cozy and warms you up upon entrance, especially on a brisk wintry day. Like most pubs, this place is split between bar and dining. The dining room seats around 20 people comfortably on chaises, sofas, couches, warm leather arm chairs, and the like. The tables are rustic wooden and well maintained (clean). Three Boars offers a wide variety of eats including ratatouille (delicious) and simple steak sandwiches on freshly made baguettes. They have a wide variety of desserts - puddings, chocolate cakes, pies, etc. Stop by for a relaxing pint, a quick meal, or some dessert. It's worth a visit! Must note that the roads that lead here are rather narrow so be careful on your drive. This place accepts most credit cards, not just chip and pin.

When my husband and I first thought about moving to Spooner Row we had no idea what the place was like. Having previously lived in London having a pub right on your doorstep isn't always a good thing. So the first thing we did was check out the pub! It was absolutely delightful and unlike any other London or country pub I have been too. The woodstove was lit, there were loads of amazing books scattered about, the ambience was elegant, comfortable and very cozy. I don't even drink, but the gorgeous pub was definitely a deciding factor in moving to Spooner Row. The owners Ruth and Tony are very polite, warm and friendly. Ruth's cooking is always delicious and I would defintely recommend this pub, whether you just want a casual bite to eat or even if you want to celebrate a special occasion there is something unique on the menu to suit all tastes. I have many happy memories of living in Spooner Row and I really wish there were places like this in California!
